I think our decision will have to be made sooner rather than later! These hotels will be booked by the fall, I bet, if not sooner!

Will you have a rental car, or are you planning to take CI&S shuttle? I've heard varying reports on how dependable it is.

Totally agree about the bed sharing!

With 5 of us, we usually take a rental car. DH drops us off at the port and then takes the car back to the rental place and hops the shuttle to the port. We pick up the rental car at the airport, so it's saves money all the way around. We did use a car service one year from the airport to the port hotel, but then we had to use the hotel shuttle to the port. This was before they started charging for the shuttles.

I figure with the hotel, I can change my mind if I need to and other places are still available. I will miss the poolside bar at the Radisson, but a good night's sleep after a long flight is higher on my priority list.

Most likely we'll be flying US Airways non-stop from PHX to MCO. DH doesn't like the cattle call of Southwest. I'm working on getting enough FF miles to cover at least 3 of us. We'll have to travel incognito because my boys are sweet at 3 hour intervals and grumpy at the 4th. My boys are just like sugar, a little taste is sweet :flower3: - too much and you get a headache.:headache:

That's what we did once. It worked out well, esp when you can check everyone in with passports without having them report in person.

Now I'll have to pay better attention to the hotel threads on the main board.

Yes--are you close enough to drive that morning? Lucky you, if so!

You will get to drive home as soon as the ship docks in San Pedro. That is one of the reasons I booked the WB cruise. It's easier to get them to cooperate at the beginning of the vacation than it is at the end.

True, true--the main reason for the WB! That and the weather is better in May! Plus, we have Monday to recuperate before the week starts.

Okay, gotta go get dinner started....bye

That's why we went with the westbound too. Can't beat being dropped off at our front door. (or very close to). I am planning on asking someone in our family to pick us up.

I hate making decisions. I wish I had a genie that said here your staying here your getting there this way and your driver's name is ? What is must be like to be rich and famous.

San Diego doesn't have nonstop flights to Orlando, though it is more convenient. LAX has several well-timed nonstop flights, but it would require a car rental and possibly an overnight stay. I guess it depends on whether we fly with my parents and sister (LAX is most convenient for them). Burbank also might have a nonstop.

We will be flying out on the 9th. Can't have the kids missing ANY more school--esp since it's most likely the last week of testing!!
We're doing LAX...same deal-renting a car. Our last day of testing this year was on Wed, and Thurs and Fri were the make ups. So I think we'll be flying on the 9th too. I noticed AA has a morning flight, which would mean an overnight stay unless we want to deal with the traffic-NOT. :scared1:

checking out DL ticket prices now...I really wish we could stay a week in CA but we'll really need to get back so I think 2 days is the max!
Did you see the pic I posted with the DISmeets pictures? DH took a picture of the Disneyland price board...we were stunned!!!

When it gets closer, have someone here in southern CA, like me, check stores like Vons and Costco. They will have "discount" tickets that are only available for purchase here. We can purchase them for you. You might end up saving at least a little.
Yes, I see them at Costco all the time...we'd be happy to do the same for anyone as well. The Costco ones are multi-day tickets. I'll have to check it out the next time I go.

I really wish Jet Blue would fly out of Long Beach to MCO but they are only doing direct to FLL. I hate going to LAX. I might do the red eye also. I have done two red eyes and they both have been miserable with crying babies and cranky flight attendants. I have sworn them off but I really would like to enjoy a little of Cocoa Beach also. Well some us are bound to be on the same flights.

We may have to do the red eye also....depends on how much crap the school gives us about taking the kids out for 11 days. I know they're fine for 10, but the 11 day rings the bell so to speak. So, we'll see. It'll either be the AA morning flight or the 10pm Delta or United flights for us. Good thing we all went to the DISmeet this weekend....when we see each other on the flights it'll be just like seeing old friends!!! How fun!

Yes, I just can't figure out how to get home from the port since Enterprise isn't open on Sunday. Perhaps that'll change by the time we sail.

The company that I work for uses Enterprise for all of our customer rentals. I will get ahold of the regional manager for our area and see if I can talk them into opening on sunday since I think they might get quite a bit of business from the ship. I let you know how it goes.

That's why we keep renewing our AP. For the one we have we need to go about 4 times per year. And we try to go about once a month.

Yes, I see them at Costco all the time...we'd be happy to do the same for anyone as well. The Costco ones are multi-day tickets. I'll have to check it out the next time I go.

We saw the multi-day tickets at costco the other day. They cost $129.00 and are for 4 days. They did have an expiration date sometime in November. good deal if you plan on going 4 times. Comes to about 32.00 per visit. The tickets do have to be used by the same person.
Hopefully they will have something similar next year at this time.

They will want to stay open on Sundays for the summer since Disney is doing Sunday-Sunday cruises. They would get a lot of business. It's sure the easiest for us to use! So already there are at least two customers.....

Welcome! There are a lot of kids the same age on this cruise! I look forward to gettting to know you!

WOW - that would be GREAT!!......as I am pricing tickets and the DL resorts I am a bit in sticker shock...........I am so spoiled with all the Fl discount rates we get!

I wish DL felt the same way about CA residents. We paid $425.60 for the two of us for one night at the Grand Californian. I guess Disney does not feel the same way about its Californian customers.

Welcome aboard!! I have family in Glascow. We also have friends who live in Scotland who worked on the Harry Potter: Quidditch World Cup game released in 2003. Gillian worked for my DH in the states then went back home to Scotland.

My girls will be missing Friday no matter what if I do the red-eye it be Thursday. Did you ask the school about The Independent Study Program yet?

I need to get back to LAX. I have not figured that one out yet. We don't have any family out here and I don't dare ask any of my friends to take me to the airport for the morning flight if we do the red-eye than I could ask someone. My dream would be to take the next cruise and send DH home. I know I will need a vacation when we get back.:lmao: Do you think he would mind.:rotfl:

Those regular prices are just crazy.

I wish I would have known that. I don't know if Tim could have done anything but that is insane.
