And I hope to revisit the desert again someday...been there once and it was so inconceivably different from the coastal areas that I'm used to, but so beautiful in it's own way.:wizard: :cutie: :wizard:

John and I have DCL friends that were our tablemates on our first cruise in 2001. We kept in touch and cruised with them again in 2006. They lived in San Diego and have just retired to Tucson. John and I plan on visiting them, so I will get to see the desert again.
:cool2: :flower3: :cool2:

The desert down in Tucson is really beautiful. I lived there for three years in the early 70s and taught in a school that was almost at the Mexico border (long commute). It's especially nice in the spring/March. I trust you're not thinking of coming in summer!:scared:

I turn 50 in September and I have been thinking about that 2nd career. Have you seen the commercial for some investment firm at a 50th birthday party. They advertise savings for retirement and then also 2nd careers...sounds really good to me right now.

Yesterday was a great Disney mail day. We received our MVMCP tickets for November and our new castaway club cards! The tickets for MVMCP are really nice!

I was going to try and make the DLR meet on the 20th but I have to work that day. It's open house for us.

Yeah, it sure would be, but sometimes you need a change . . .

You probably know better than anyone here V (because of John) the rigors of the retail business. I have lived that almost my whole life.

Another thing that prompted my thought this way is that I can actually retire from here with a full 30 and out pension (at age 47) at this time. Believe me, it is nothing to live on - about 16k a year - but every little bit helps.

I decided I needed to start thinking younger instead of thinking my career is complete.

That's a great way of thinking...John's son John can do the same kind of thing because he started young....he can do his 20 years where he is now, lock in his pension, move on to another company and do another 20 years and collect a double pension when he retires....
:thumbsup2 ;) :thumbsup2

This time next year:banana: many of us will be at the terminal waiting for our number to be called to board!!!

This time next year.........!!!!

We were thinking about going in Feb 2009. Maybe we'll push it back a month. Where do you live, we could stop by and visit with you too.:thumbsup2 :cutie: :thumbsup2

Wow ----- that would be a change!

Actually it depends on the day I think, the closer to Halloween of course is more busy but we've had a fantastic time the past four years and we'll be there this year too! The Pirate and Princess parties, now that was very quiet! Loved it!

Then maybe we should go because we'll be on the cruise first and we're doing World after so we could make it on the last night which is Nov 2nd, so maybe it won't be as crowded.
;) :) ;)

mmmmm - mint mint chocolate chocolate chip
They had a new ice cream flavor....dark chocolate mint...it was really yummy.....

I am sure wherever we are staying the night before the cruise next year I will be itching to get in that car and down to the port!! Early I know but.......

We should all have something lime green hanging out of our car windows or something so we can wave on the way to the port!!!

We'll be staying in Cocoa Beach and taking car service to the Port. I told John I want the car to pick us up at 8:45am so we'll be at the Port by 9:00am. I want a good number so I can get on board right away when they start boarding. Last cruise, we got to the Port before 9:00am and they wouldn't let us in until 9:00am. So this time, we'll time it right.
:wizard: :woohoo: :wizard:

Oh my, I thought the terminal didn't open till 10am. Now this means we will be setting off from the World by 8am!!!

Ah well, I will be awake early so.....!!

Well, they let you in the outside gate at 9am and they say they don't open the doors to the terminal until 10am, but not really....they let you in earlier.:cool1: :goodvibes :cool1:

Besides, who can sleep on the morning that you get on the boat. I'm usually up way early on that day because I'm so excited and so anxious to get on board!

Bummer,

I was hoping to meet you since we live around the corner from each other and have to meet still. What open house are you doing?

Our Labradoodle, Lexi, is finally starting to calm down a bit. She is 18 months old now. A friend told me we have about six more months. She is a great dog though.
We had a rottweiler for 12 years and she was the best. It took her about 2 years to calm down and stop eating everything including metal.:rotfl: My new puppy is very calm compared to the big dogs but a bit lame. This one is really good for the girls but it will be a totally different relationship. They don't do much other than eat sleep and play a little. He is great though. He is already four thousand times better than my rottie was at this age.

I know, but today is the 10th and the Saturday will be the 10th next year!!!
