We're on page 998 now...just two more to go to hit the big 1,000...I'm sure we'll do it tomorrow. :thumbsup2

I think Karen had a little too much wine when she said I needed to add another zero and make it 10,000...that or just way too sleepy!
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Just Sleepy. not Dopey!

What day in 1957? I think Katypop (my table mate!!) said her birthday is Aug 31st 1957!! And I am Sept 4th 1957!!

At my daughter's dance studio we have the "57" club.....there are so many parents born in 1957.

Noel - Here is a computer task for you...I have heard that the most babies born in USA was 1957 (height of the baby boom) until 1989 (when Daniel was born......)

My siblings were born in 1952, 1953, 1955, 1957 (me) and 1961. The only the middle 3 are left now......we were a true baby boom family!!

DH is August 17th. We know a lot of people from my year, 1960. Only a couple from 56 and 57.

Of course, one of my all time favorite cars is the 57 T-Bird!!

we are coming back next year.....at least in the hotel sense....now we have to decide which race, especially before the cruise!

oh yes Karen,

I brought 2 bottles of Rosa Regala (SP?) and everyone loved it......after I finished drinking 2 glasses I did not drink anymore....wanted to be able to get up at 3am!!

It's only 8% Alcohol, compared to most wines that are usually 11% and up!!

Good choice, of course!!

Hope you got your coffee!!

Karen

so now...John wants to be top 5 (he was 23 overall yesterday) and do the Olympic distance race....big dreams..

Well, it's a beautiful day! Only 51 degrees right now, but supposed to hit 75!!!! Woohoo! Great because the rest of the week is supposed to be low 60s (which is still nice, in my opinion). Tyler and I are headed to the dairy cow barns at Michigan State University. MSU has so many great free things to do and see! The cow barns are fun because each cow has a cute name on their nametag. And you can watch milking at 2pm every day. He also wants to go see the sheep, horses, and pigs, but I doubt I can handle that much stink in one day. :rotfl: Last time we went to see the cows, I almost vomited a few times from the smell. Yup, pathetic city girl here! :rotfl2:

I'm right there with you on the city girl thing!!

But it is REALLY wonderful (big surprise there, you're a great mom,) that you take him to do and see these wonderful things that are different from his current environment! We probably have something around here or in Petaluma that we could take DD to, if she was interested! Her favorite place lately is the mall!!

If the gross number of births were the indicator, births began to decline from the peak in 1957 (4,300,000) but fluctuated or did not decline by much more than 40,000 (1959-1960) to 60,000 (1962-1963) until a sharp decline from 1964 (4,027,490) to 1965 (3,760,358). This makes 1964 a good year to mark the end of the baby boom in the U.S.

There were five of us also, but all girls. Many of the families we knew had five children. Our family was 1950, 1956, 1961, 1964 and 1967. My mother was a career woman who planned two children. After an "accident" in 1961, she decided to have one more and the last one was another "accident".

I was an accident as well! 10 years after my sister and 12 after my "other sibling"!;)

Something about vasectomy births...:confused3

Don't feel bad about storage. After our last move, I still have 6 containers in storage that I need to go through. We are progressively scaling down our lifestyle toward retirement. With my Dad's passing in 2005, I accumulated a ton of stuff that I need to go through but have no place to store it here.

I am promising myself I will start taking stuff out of storage this summer and go through it but you know about the best laid plans of mice and men!!

Noel,

I still have most of my folks' stuff in storage too. My goal is to go through it this summer as well!

I will if you will!

Another pic from Tyler's party last year. Tyler is the crazy one running through the spray from the hose! As you can see, the kids all had a blast!

Great pics and a great party!:thumbsup2

DD went to a firehouse party when she was about 3 or 4. I have some cute pictures of her in the firetruck as well!!

Tyler looks like he had a great time!!:woohoo:

Nice that he is your "excuse" for the need to visit firemen...:rolleyes1

Great pictures of Tyler and "friends". My middle DD's BF (who is also name Jennifer) is a firefighter in Milbrae California.

Sounds like everyone had a wonderful weekend!! Today was warm and windy here in DC. Lots of clouds and sun!!

DH and DS did not win the golf tournament...but played well!!

What evey happened to restful weekends??

Next weekend is Prom....Friday night......Daniel is taking a friend. He is going in a group of 14. The big drama today is limo or no limo. They had a free limo...but it has now fallen though...so each kid has to come up with $70 now if they want the limo!!

Thank you to everyone about climbing the Tower of Pisa...
I think I will try and figure out a private tour for that stop so we can climb it!!

Holly, LOVE LOVE LOVE the firefighter photos!!

How cute is that??

DFIL was a DC fireman. His station was first call to the White House. You would not believe how many fires are in the White House you never hear of....
He retired before my kids were of an age when they could go to work with him. The great thing for him is DC Fireman are FED employees, so he has an awesome retirement!!

:rotfl2: People ask me all the time if I get bored going to the fire station all the time and ask how I can stand it.....Um.....DUH! :lmao:

I forgot that I had a recent pic in my camera from last week at the fire station:

And here's one from today in front of our house:

Here's one from visiting the cows today. He liked the cows the least of all the barns we went to because of the smell. :rotfl:

Very cool! I'm always in awe of any women firefighters we meet. I just can't imagine having the physical body strength to do what they have to do. My ex-MIL is a volunteer firefighter and she would tell us about having to carry the dummy (can't remember how much it weighed---I'm thinking 180 pounds) up a ladder while also wearing all their gear. I doubt I could even stand wearing all the gear with how heavy it is, let alone carry somebody up a ladder! :scared1: Very impressive!
