I say the kiss doesn't count....it was stolen, not 'shared' ;)

.
hmmmmm. this leads to a QUESTION OF THE DAY!

When/where was your first kiss?

I know I was kissing boys in SECOND GRADE....does that count? OK...let's modify that question to post-puberty first kiss...

I don't actually remember, but I got my first REALLY grown up kiss ;) the summer of '65 (age 15) in a yellow convertible from a boy named Smitty from Brooklyn! I remember that VERY well!

What a great question...I think I was about 13 or 14 and I was at my first boy/girl party. We played spin the bottle. It was my turn and my spin landed on a boy named Greg. We left the den that we were in and went into the bathroom and made out. That was my first real kiss. :dance3:

I got so excited I decided to make a payment towards our cruise.....DH was like, can you just keep it in the bank!?! I told him "NO, it makes me FEEL like I'll get some more information if I get it paid off"....he just walked away shaking his head :sad2: , poor guy (he just doesn't get it).

I get it!!!

Hi Tina,

We're building in Laurel, DE. It's south of Georgetown near the MD border. Probably 1-2 hrs. from Wilmington. I was there once. It's quite a small city, but very nice. Our property is horizontal to Bethany beach. I love it there. We always go to Henlopen beach in Lewes now and we fell in love with the area and decided that's were we're going to retire. I love Rohoboth beach also. Then you have Ocean City, MD just down the road.:goodvibes

At the one year mark I can make the car rentals and the hotels on both sides. I have to wait an additional month and then I can make the flight ressies. We're driving to FL and flying home from LA. I book the car and the flight through Orbitz and the hotel directly on the Holiday Inn site. I've already checked all of them. When it asks for dates I forward their calendar as far as it will let me go and I know how long I have to wait. I'm getting very anxious because it's so close now.:thumbsup2

Ah yes, I loved Rehoboth and Ocean City. Spent lots of time at both of those. My best memories are of Ocean City as that's where we went the day after prom. I haven't been back to Delaware since 1978 so I'm sure things are very different. I would love to go back with my DH to show him where I grew up. He's lived his entire life in Seattle so he doesn't have a clue what the east coast is like.

Yeah, I may start looking at airfare in June. We're using my folks DVC points for the Beach Club the week before the cruise. Unfortunately, it's not their home resort so we can't book until November.

her 2 was writing her name. She can do SAM...but the rest is a bit sketchy. Her darn mom had to give her a long name!

Gave my son a long name too -- Christopher, and he wouldn't shorten it to Chris so for Kindergarten and grade one his name always took up two lines!

Sounds like Samantha is doing so well. I remember when my kids were little and I could understand what they were learning.....then they got to middle school and went over my head!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: It is strange to have to read the chapter before you can help them. Daniel stopped asking around
10th grade.....just could not help him.

My DD10 (the thumb daughter) name is GRETCHEN HALTERMAN, her K teacher told us the rest of the class was done with the assignment and Gretchen has not even finished writing her name!!

CAN WE HAVE A LINK TO THIS POST ON PAGE ONE?

....thank you....

Edited: oops, sorry, hadn't seen V's post asking this...well, mine won't be missed if Aunty Brat is 'scanning' the thread!
.

Where is Aunty Brat?? Has anyone heard from her?

Well hello
Wow this is a busy thread!:scared1: almost 15000 posts and it is still over a year away! Well at least people are excited about the cruise. My husband and I are going to be in a Cat 6 (I made him get up at an ungodly hour to do the reservations:lmao: ) and my sister in law and her husband are going to be in Cat 9. I am sooooooo looking forward to all the days at sea. Those were my favorite part of our 7 day eastern caribean cruise. As excited as I am though I can't think about it right now because we are going on the Mediteranean cruise this August and we just made our shore excursion reservations a few days ago! My brain might explode with all the excitement!

Welcome!! I am on a Med cruise. We are on the 11 day from 7-28 till 8-8, I think. We can make our excursion ressies this weekend!! (90 days out) Which cruise are you on?

I have posted this before, but you can show DH Bethany beach on the live web cam. You can connect to Ocean City's and Rehoboth's as well from this site.

On the back of the story time rug in junior kindergarden. Little Johnny and I used to kiss each other on the cheek:love: . Then there was kissing tag in grade one. We start JK at age 4, anyone who is born in the calendar year, I was 3 for another three weeks and already in school.

Car rental info for L.A. is now on the website on the planning page.

ahhh - Grey's Anatomy night....

I am cooking spicy red pepper shrimp pasta...and hope to get the girls off to bed. Today I joined several in my department who are studying for the Certified Healthcare Financial Professional certification.....should be interesting. Anything to make me more valuable to the company - and thus more promotable I say! (not to mention - they are springing for it!)

PJ - thanks for adding that link to the website....!

This weekend is the St Anthony's triathalon. My dad is doing the big one...John and I are supposed to do the meek and mighty. I think I am going to not do it..I know I could finish but I just don't feel up to it.

I am counting down the days to WDW....May 13th, I really really need to get away...work has been crazy - not buzy unless its month end, but so many problems and issues....it's nuts.

At Knotts Berry Farm way back when there was a lagoon where parking lots are now. On the path around the lagoon. I was 14, it was a boy from church that became my boyfriend for a couple of years.

Ack!! Too soon...too fast...

(Was Brent in town??)

Carolyn

It wasn't a "real" kiss just a peck. Very exciting none the less. LOL - if Brent was in town, she'd be drooling all over the place. That was so funny that trip, she was being a good sport meeting other adults and then she heard he was coming... and once she saw him and saw how great he was with his little bro and sis - she was having a GREAT time... too cute. He was so great with her.

I guess I have to start with Kindergarten it too - was stolen like Miss V's - but I slugged the boy. (Got in trouble - but Mom was proud of me for sticking up for myself) I was VERY petite and she worried about me. No need.

My second "first" was in the 4th grade Grant Roberts - oh yeah too cute. But my first "real" kiss was in 6th grade. My neighbor friend/boyfriend later on Danny. The scary thing - I was a tom boy...:scared1: so all you parents with tom boy's don't think your out of the woods!

I don't think I mentioned how the conferance was for Samantha...luckily they schedule them during nap time so the children don't see you.
The teachers use an assessment book that has Fall, Winter, Spring - this was Samantha's first in this room and each assessment is based on 1, 2 or 3 with 3 being the highest. This in turn goes to their K teacher when them move to Kindergarten.
They started off telling me how she made a great transition into the room - she and two boys moved up at the same time, the two boys were new into the school. The teachers evaluate how the children interact with already made groups etc and said that Samantha plays with everyone and has already learned to back away from catty situations before they escalate (with other girls) - isn't it early for that kind of behavior???
She was already at a 3 level for most everything - so I am not sure where that leaves her for the next two evals...I hope she continues to thrive and grow, her 2 was writing her name. She can do SAM...but the rest is a bit sketchy. Her darn mom had to give her a long name!
They commented on her imaginative play and how she loves to dress up and that they think she'll work for Disney some day. I thought that was funny, if they only knew!

At first I was a bit sad that she won't be going to K this year - I had a Nov bday and started when I was 4 and turned 5 that year but the start date was different. As I look at all the children going most all just a few months older than her, I now realize the advantage the extra year will give her. Being the lone duck, these children move on and the next class moves up in August. Her teachers think she will be great at leading the class in terms of helping the new students learn the rules of the classroom etc.

I did ask about her behavior in class, if she listens etc and they both commented on how well behaved she is and she listens well, although sometimes has to use the restroom when pick up time comes around. I always worry how she is behaving because at home, we are pretty lax -- bad parenting I know, the girls know what they can get away with. I am happy to know that she does well at school.
Sorry this is so long, I am just so proud of her! I did pick up some K workbooks that have different activities in, I would like to set aside even 20 minutes and evening to work in them or on somthing so the idea of homework will be planted early! I know teachers start giving it out early, not sure of K though.

This does not surprise me a bit. Samantha is a smart, polite little girl! She has always impressed John and I as being very smart for her age. I also think that Samantha is mature for her age. Sophia and her get along so well and there is a two year age difference, and I know that Sophia is not immature!!!

The bathroom trick sounds like our Sophia, she never wants to clean up either!!

I think all parents worry about how their children act when they are not with them I was always pleased when teachers and parents said that Alex was such a polite, helpful child. Of course, I always wondered if they were speaking of the right child!!! Sophia is the same way, one way at home and another to the world. As long as the world sees the better side, I am OK!!!

Yesterday I drove past your hotel -- the Crowne Plaza -- on my way to the close by BluewaterGrill restaurant. Delicious food, spectacular view, $$$.

Yup, Lisa, DH is OBSESSED about it!!

He faxed a letter to DCL the day it was announced to make sure he was on "the list" for the innaugural sailing. We received a very official "thanks, but we are not taking requests at this time" letter.

He emails me every waking moment on updates...

Oh well, better to be informed! Thanks for the link!!

Karen
