You know that Subway commercial where the guys asks for a huge gut etc... and the wife says I'll have the same thing only can I have the thunder thighs and the bedonkidonk butt? (sp?) I LOVE THAT COMMERCIAL. Now when ever I pull out the butter pecan I say, ok, I'll have the bedonkidonk butt and if I don't care, I eat it.
That's my absolute favorite commercial! Always cracks me up! "Would you like the bedonkidonk butt or the bedooooooooooooonkidonk butt?" :rotfl:

Holly...hope you had fun! I love Larry....mostly because my good friend's DH is the spitting image of him...personality and looks. Cracks us up all the time. We call him Larry even though his name is Geoff. I also have a friend who really like Larry and is an auto mechanic. When he first made up his business cards he wrote on the bottom...GET HER DONE! instead of GET 'ER Done! I laughed forever over that one.
It was a blast, but what was funny is how many guys who came to the show looked exactly like Larry!!!! Just cracked me up to see how many rednecks there really are around here! :lmao: He also showed a preview of his new movie coming out on May 11 (Delta Farce....with Bill Engval). :thumbsup2

Extra bonus tonight: after the Larry show, I joined my friend Cindy and her friend at the bar of the Mexican restaurant where Alejandro works (the guy who broke my heart a while ago). We chose that place because Cindy had a gift certificate from there that she wanted to use. She ended up flirting with the bartender so much, that ALL our drinks ended up being free, for all three of us!!! It was definitely entertaining, watching her drive those boys crazy! :rotfl2:

We Tivo Deadliest Catch. We love to watch it together!!! We just finished the episode that was new on Tuesday. Isn't that odd? Now DD and DH are watching Dirtiest Jobs. I think we are a Discovery Channel Family. It is no T.V. week next week at school and Savannah got this horrible look on her face. No Deadlist Catch? It's our little family show.. I think she may be ok for a couple of days, but probably not the whole week.

Same at our school...but for TWO WEEKS....a few days yes, a few weeks no.

I haven't really been home enough, but I got about 50 emails from Ebay today. Someone hacked my account and started selling golf clubs under my name. I thought it was quite strange why they would hack me to sell something, but apparently my CC was charged all the fees for selling:scared1: Ebay caught it before I did and removed everything and credited my account. Now, I get to check all my credit card companies and bank stuff tomorrow to make sure nothing else was hacked. So annoying.

Had the same thing happen to me a few years ago--I never caught it, ebay did. How I got hacked was I made the mistake of clicking on a link on an email I mistakenly thought was from ebay (it was very authentic looking). It allowed them to see my keystrokes and thusly get my ebay password. It was awful but ebay was awesome about it. (Those bad online people ;) ). Glad they caught it though. Change your online password just to be safe....

We had the best time at the show! We all laughed so hard, our stomach muscles were sore by the end of the show! I haven't laughed that hard in longer than I can remember, so I really needed it! :goodvibes Although our seats were in row 1, there were also rows of seats on the floor in front of us, so it wasn't right up front like I had expected.....but still GREAT! :thumbsup2

Regarding my infected finger, it's so painful that I scream every time I bump it. The doc told me it's an ingrown fingernail, but I don't think that's right because the infection started the day after I ripped off a hangnail (which I will NEVER do again.....lesson learned). Anyway, he prescribed strong antibiotics (500 mg, 4 times a day) and told me it will clear up. And I have a re-check a week from Monday. Not sure how successful yardwork attempts would be with how badly it hurts to do anything with that hand right now. Can't even type with that finger. Yardwork might just have to wait until next weekend. No big deal.

Holly,

I'm sure the yardwork will wait for your finger to get better! It's not going anywhere!

Take care!!

Karen

I'm here....DH and I on the couch watching Babel...it is very strange, not what I expected. Anyone seen it?

We watched it last night! And, it WAS very strange and NOT what we were expecting, either. Not sure what I was expecting, but watching it I felt like the producers wanted to make several points, so they slammed the morals into our heads: GUNS ARE BAD! U.S. IMMIGRATION POLICIES DON'T WORK! PEOPLE ARE JUST PEOPLE, WHATEVER LANGUAGE THEY SPEAK!

It ended and we looked at each other and said, "Okaayyyyy."

On another note, we have a Daisy scout, but her troop is lame, so I don't think she counts for your bridging. (I'm guessing bridging in Girl Scouts is like bridging in Cub Scouts?)

DH just finished selling his video camera on ebay (so he can buy a new one, of course ;) ). He got a better price than he thought he would and all went well, BUT the numerous emails he received was annoying. Most were just questions about the camera, but several were scams that were very hard to catch. He had to really be paying attention before he clicked on links, etc. He reported the obvious scammers to ebay, but just got a canned response back. We have bought and sold on ebay in the past, but things have really changed recently. I don't know how ebay can keep up with all the hackers and scammers out there.

I agree! :thumbsup2 I bumped that finger a couple times in my sleep and sat straight up, wanting to scream. But I'm thinking that because the antibiotic dose is so strong, improvement will be pretty quick. At least I hope!

John - your story of dance class was priceless.

When Chris was younger had a incident at soccer involving clothing and a child in tears. It was the beginning of the year and the uniforms were being handed out but they ran out of socks so Chris didn't get any and we were assured that they would have the proper colour socks by the time of the first game. They didn't have the right colour socks available by the time of the first game though so Chris was wearing his previous years socks which everyone had said was ok -- problem was nobody said anything to the referee who wouldn't let Chris play because his socks were the same colour as the opposing side's. The coach argued but couldn't convince the ref that they really didn't have the right colour socks. Chris was in tears and it took me weeks to get him to go back to soccer.

Totally understand Sophie being upset -- just wait for the teenage years though -- wouldn't go through them again if you paid me a million dollars!

All of this talk of hanging out while your kids do activites makes me really laugh. Only my youngest, Gretchen, is exceptionally good at something....she dances with the High School Team. They put out a call for 6 young dancers (she was 9 at the time....she is 10 now) and about 300 tried out and she was one of 6 chosen. Everyone told me the mom's would be terrible, trying to undermine so their kids would get ahead.....you guys know the story. I can not imagine all that nonsence, but whatever....

Another little girl who did make it has had to deal with all that crazy stuff...but we have not....everyone leaves Gretchen alone.....they do not try to undermine her....:confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3
I have seen it it though with several of the little girls and their moms (the moms are the worst.....but the girls can be mean as well)....

Chris (the mother of the other little girl who has had the hard time) and I decided it is because my husband is a minister and no one wants to mess with us...:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Not really sure if this is true or not.....just kinda funny

Sounds like a great time Jackie  Have a wonderful evening :goodvibes Speaking of four weeks...four weeks tomorrow my daughter is getting married:love:
Kathe

Tell us your daughters name and you need to learn to post pictures so we can share in your happiness!!

I also have to reach the girl scouts in the group as I have a special favor to ask of you during our cruise...it involves bridging. Could you pm me if you or your daughters are scouts?

Not sure if I can help or not. My daughters are not coming, but both are girl scouts.....Annie is a Cadette.....I am a girl scout as well.....(well at least I pay my dues!)

One person in my neighborhood mowed too. That's a sure sign of spring! :goodvibes

Don is mowing now......I am so happy it is finally warm....they say tomorrow will be 80 degrees here!!

We are still greiving......I am having a very hard time doing anything (that is why I am glad Don is mowing!)

Anyone interested, may like to look at the Tech website....

The kids all get e-mails on Thursday that they can leave and they will get the grades they have as of now. They can go home and finish online.....or they can start up classes on Monday and finish the year. How terrible for the graduating seniors to end out like this....

Several of Daniel's friends have closed the book on this year and come home....lots of parents traveling to Blacksburg to gather up stuff and start summer a little early....

I guess I have talked to about 200 people that have a child at Tech...going to Tech...thinking about going to Tech etc....only one is quitting for good. It will be very curiuos to see what the fallout will be.

I am going to post a could of graphics that I love.......I hope you guys don't mind.

I received an email once from what I thought was ebay wanting me to verify my account information, of course I do did not . The page looked just like an ebay page. I now get emails that says I owe $$$$ as if I had placed a bid and won. I just delete them. I'm now very cautious on what emails come through and check my acct. regulally. There are very bad online people. :sad1:

Thanks for posting the link. It's all just so sad. But it's nice that the school is giving the option for students to end the term now with the grade they currently have. I imagine most students would have a difficult time returning to classes and trying to focus. :sad1:

Although all of us are sad at my house...Annie DD13 is having a very difficult time. She is the most shy, thoughtful and introspective (sp?) child we have. She is organized, hard working and quiet. She has been crying a lot.

Last night, we were waiting for Gretchen while she was dancing. (John's favorite activity) Annie and I were trying to think of something she could do, to help. I told her that prayers were great and actions for something like this don't have to be directly related to VA Tech.

We talked about lots of different thing she could do. So she decided to get her hair cut for Locks of Love. We went to the Hair place and made an appointment for 9am.....she had 15 inches (it was pretty much to her waist) cut off! She is a strawberry blonde....so cute.

I am so very proud of her and it has (at least for now) made her really smile as you can see below.

Thanks to everyone again for letting me go on and on....I keep thinking I will just go back to being myself....but now I think that will never happen...I have been forever changed.....

I agree that things have changed on ebay. I bought and sold as far back as eight years ago and it was a great place to trade. But as much as two years ago it really started changing. I was selling a pair of earrings and the person who won the bid didn't pay for them. So I never shipped them, but she gave me a bad feedback and cursed me out. Ebay was great about removing it, but you had to spend hours of emails back and forth and even though it was removed, it still counted as negative feedback in my numbers. Not fair! I also had a bad experience with something that I bought and wanted to return because of poor quality. I finally got a refund, but it cost me half as much to do so. You really have to be so careful today when you trade.

BTW, the same email got me the first time. I've received it many times since then and they won't get me again. I forward them to ebay now. Ebay is one of the most hacked sites.

I still think it's a great place to buy and sell, but you have to be so much more careful when you go there. It's really a very sad comment on our society. Again, this theme this week.

John and I talk about it all the time, kids today have it so much different from the way we grew up....we had every neighbor on the block watching us. Mrs. Casey next door could dicipline us just like our parents could and if we misbehaved you bet our parents would hear about it and we'd get punished. We never got hit, but punished and with consequences if it was really bad, like stealing from a candy store. One time John did that and his father, a Nassau County Long Island cop, made him go back and apologize for one week everyday after school to the store owner plus pay him for the candy. Life was so much simplier and we really lived within a community of good people...We only had 13 channels on our TVs and we had transistor radios with AM only. We hung out with all the kids on the block and played games. We were never in the house, except to do chores, homework and have dinner. Do kids just go outside and play with friends today. Can they? Is it safe enough?

From all the chat on here lately, kids are not safe in schools and they're not even safe at home with their parents. I'm not so happy to be old today, but I'm certainly glad that I grew up when I did. I feel so sorry for the children growing up today. Our world is insane and not safe and it's all on the media right in front of your eyes. I was glued to the news all this week and it was dark and rainy and windy and cold all week. Then the sun came out and I turned off the TV and went outside.

Today is filled with good company, food and drinks and games. I hope everyone here stays safe. Look how close VT hit Lisa's life. It's too scarry! But then, everyone comes together to share and comfort then move on.

...sorry, very chatty today....I haven't posted much this week so I kind of saved it all up and posted all at once...:dance3:

Such great pics of Annie! What a cutie! So glad you found something to make her smile. Must be so hard for kids to deal with such a tragedy when us adults don't even understand how something so awful can happen.
