All alone again...

Digga, dang, digga, dang:rolleyes1

Haven't had to say that in a while.

Oh well, back to laundry and other chores.

Karen

I crack up every time I see this...I try to say it outloud and it comes out really funny. It's actually entertaining for us to hear you talk to yourself :lmao:

Just looked at an open house with our exact floor plan. May not sound like a big deal, but it really is. We are in a pseudo custom neighborhood of the 1950s. There are 3 houses that are the same (so we thought) it was interesting that the other house was scaled differently. It gave me the piece of mind in knowing that my upgrades/improvements will keep us just where we need to be if we decide to sell (when and if we ever find that beach house) It was funny to go thru with my mom, she kept saying how nice the house looked (and Paul would say under his breath, and ours looks bad?) My mom has not liked anything we have done in the house since we bought it from her 8+ years ago. Rather funny in my opinion. :rotfl:

I am a former Girl Guide, same thing. Have my full uniform, only thing missing is the pencil that hung on the belt, lol. Although it only fit me until I was 14, I could wear my GG pin or my all around cord pin.

We have the district GG shop on our street and I wonder if they have anything there for a similar ceremony, would be cool to bring a little of what we do in Canada?

DrHug and I were both GS leaders. Yep, he was a card carrying Girl Scout for 5 years. :) I don't know if I could find our pins as it has been many years, but it would be fun to participate in a bridging ceremony again, if you want former GSs as well as current.

LOVE IT! My DH is a card carrying member too!(okay he doesn't have his card, I do) He is even volunteer approved, ya never know when I might need him in a pinch... Thanks for offering to join us. I hope it will be a special event for Molly. I know she will be sad when she hears all about the other girls crossing te bridge without us, even though she will have a better span to cross (in my opinion too)

going to watch Stormbreaker tonight. Paul and the kids saw it last summer in London, but I missed it, so today is my day to join in and watch it while they see it again.

I'm lurking.....:hippie:

One person in my neighborhood mowed too. That's a sure sign of spring! :goodvibes

It was GREAT outside today! I got a lot of my "Johnny Do" List done. I cleaned out the garage, so that not only do our cars fit inside, but it is nice and clean. All swept out and hosed down. I also finally installed new lighting fixtures that I bought last fall. Our lighting fixtures outside had seen better days. I bought Madera Mission style fixtures for our front porch and garage from Restoration Hardware when they were on sale. Amy got the Mickey Mouse Mission style lights from Disney Direct, and those went on the deck.

Amy says the house now looks like Wilderness Lodge, and all we need is the recording of the crickets.

The only problem is the pole lamp now does not match. I have searched the internet for a match, and while I can find lights that look close, nothing that is an exact match. So I'll keep searching. Can't believe Restoration Hardware doesn't make a pole light :(.

Had the same thing happen to me a few years ago--I never caught it, ebay did. How I got hacked was I made the mistake of clicking on a link on an email I mistakenly thought was from ebay (it was very authentic looking). It allowed them to see my keystrokes and thusly get my ebay password. It was awful but ebay was awesome about it. (Those bad online people ;) ). Glad they caught it though. Change your online password just to be safe....

I wish I had a nickel for every fake ebay and bank email I get . . . Add to that male enhancement emails, and I would be a wealthy man.

We talked about lots of different thing she could do. So she decided to get her hair cut for Locks of Love. We went to the Hair place and made an appointment for 9am.....she had 15 inches (it was pretty much to her waist) cut off! She is a strawberry blonde....so cute.

I am so very proud of her and it has (at least for now) made her really smile as you can see below.

Thanks to everyone again for letting me go on and on....I keep thinking I will just go back to being myself....but now I think that will never happen...I have been forever changed.....

Cute pictures Lisa. What a lovely young lady, and a great way to transfer grief to hope.

While forever changed, things will get better, because life must go on. It is just so sad that we live with so many of these things these days, like 9/11, and the tragedy at VT. Of course when I was three it was the assassination of JFK. Bad things will always happen in the world - we must continue to give our children hope.

And don't worry, I for one enjoy reading everything you have posted, and if it helps to share the grief, keep doing it!

Wow! What a weather report! Supposed to be in the 70s today and Sunday! I'll definitely make sure Tyler and I are outside almost the whole time (after I pick him up from his dad's today) because starting Monday, it's supposed to be rainy and cooler until the following Monday. We'll enjoy it while we can! :cool1:

Oh greaaaat . . . I am taking vacation this week, and was hoping the weekend would translate into good weather for the week . . .

Shama Lama Ding Dong . . . now I am by myself . . .

Going to Sesame Street Live tomorrow . . .

Our company sponsors bringing it here, so I go, and we get floor seats . . . think I would rather see Larry. Let me know if anyone wants me to tell Elmo hello.

During our cruise Molly will be missing an important event in her girl scouting life that we have been planning on doing since she was in kindergarden(she will be in 5th grade at time of cruise)

Every year there is a group of Juniors that bridge to Cadette over the

GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE

up to 5000 girls every year make this journey and next year was to be her (me too, as their troop leader) turn. I'm a bit bummed to say the least that I will be missing my troop and Molly will miss this special day and event, so I'm thinking that I want to create a special ceremony for her to bridge while we are crossing the Panama Canal. I can and will come up with something simple and special for her and would love to have other scouts join us in ceremony this day. I'm open to ideas and will hope to try to reach someone at DCL to see if I can reach any girl scouts that might be crew members too. I'm just planning on wearing my pin (& will pack Molly's old and new vest in secret) so that she will get to have her new vest as part of the ceremony of bridging. If any other scouts could also pack and wear there pins for the ceremony it would be great!:goodvibes

So, that's my plan who's in with me??? :dance3:
That's a wonderful plan! I vaguely remember when I was a Brownie and then a Girl Scout. Such a great memory you'll be creating for Molly.........what a cool mom you are! :goodvibes

Haven't seen Babel, haven't really been interested in seeing it either. But last night we saw "Lady in the Water", the latest from M. Night Shyamalan. It was really good and also very different from what we expected. Not sure if it really would be good for kids to see, even though it is supposed to be a "bedtime" story, but it really was excellent.

I would definitely see it again!

Karen
Wow....I didn't know that was supposed to be a bedtime story. I didn't see it because the previews looked scary. Now I'm curious and will try to rent it next time Tyler's at his dad's. :thumbsup2

Holly,

If it isn't better by say, Tuesday, I wouldn't wait till the following Monday. Just to be safe, you may want to have it checked again.

Being a mom....

Karen
I agree. Just patiently trying to give it a couple days. :goodvibes

Well, Holly is here now, but I am heading to bed.

Night Holly!:wave2:

Ooooh! I'm jealous! We just went a month or so ago in Detroit. I figured this is probably the last year Tyler will be interested in Sesame Street, so it was good timing......he absolutely loved it and we still have the Elmo head helium balloon in our living room. Yup, it's deflated, but I keep trying to remember to take it somewhere and have it refilled.

Shawn came home (finally) a few hours ago from the Panda benefit that was sponsored by a certain retailer.

Last time we saw him was yesterday morning when he left at 5am. It is amazing how much work goes into the fashion show portion of the benefit. Nonstop for 35 hours is more than I could do.

He did get to talk with "Ally & AJ" backstage for a good twenty minutes. Said they were very mature for their age and quite charming. He even had his photo taken with them to give to Jenna. Jenna is very jealous right now. She loves Ally & AJ! Shawn said they sang about three songs just sitting on stools playing guitars.
Sorry if I missed something earlier, but who are Ally & AJ?
