Daniel came home from school. He drives to school. He said that the media was just swarming the place. There were helicoptors. Then he could not get home because this boys house is on the way home. He had to go all the way around. I can see the helicotors over at his house.

Erin Peterson passed away today. She was the third Westfield child. They announced it on the loadspeakers at school.

Oh no, I am so sorry someone else has died. How awful for her parents and family. Did your son know her?

My heart also goes out to the gunman's parents and family.

The is list should be sub-titled movies that suck you in. If they are on TV, we can't change the tuner. Even if we have them on tape and could watch them anytime.:happytv:

I know what you mean....ALWAYS happens if I stumble across Princess Bride especially.

Boy are you ever correct!! Sunday after brunch DH and I watched at least three of the movies on my list while he was doing some work (working on a yahoo business site) and I was Dising!!

Any adds to the list?

LADYHAWK......another of my favoriates. (I'm a big Rutger Hauer fan, and it isn't easy to find a movie where he is the good guy!)

Well, my lovely DH has just called to say he's taking me out for dinner tonight to our favourite restaurant in town.....you can see it here....http://www.theforburyhotel.co.uk/enter.html

Wow, what a great place. Enjoy.

Cheri....boy I soooooo wish I was retired! ;) See you Friday at dinner!

A great line from the movie:

"My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father prepare to die."

Lisa - that is an extremely thoughtful thing to do. While I cannot imagine the loss of a child, I certainly couldn't begin to imagine the heartache they will go through as well. Loss of a son and the grief from the horrific things he did.
Undoubtedly they will question themselves and probably never have all the answers.

My thoughts too :sad1:

That would be so neat. I have always wanted to see a launch. We used to go and see the landings all the time when they used to land out here at Edwards AFB but I have yet to see a launch.

Lisa,
I am watching CNN with Reema's family. How sad and they seem like such a good family. I really feel for your community having to go through so much pain. :grouphug:

Wanted to share a funny story that may take thoughts away from today's events just for a moment and maybe put a smile on someone's face. We thought it was very clever and funny.

TOO funny! Loved the pics! Thanks for sharing with all of us. My aunt, uncle, and cousin did something similar with a bronze beaver statue my mom has. When my mom was on vacation once, they kidnapped the poor little beaver and took him camping with them. The got him safely home before she returned and she never knew about it until the following Christmas when they gave her a photo album with pictures of his adventures. :rotfl2:

Well, it's time to strike out for the day--beach and DL, not sure in what order. Have a good one, everyone!

Sounds like you're having an absolutely wonderful time! Keep enjoying! :thumbsup2

Boy, you guys are quiet tonight. We were able to plan a church service tonight for the kids. We had about 100 adults show up and about 400 high school kids came. We lit candles and prayed with these kids. I think some of them had never been in a church before. It was neat that we could be there and offer up our new building for these kids to grieve.

We made great big HUGE posters for VA Tech, one for Erin and one for Reema. They are going to rool them up and sent them to Blacksburg tomorrow.

I never got the flowers to the shooters home. I went by and you could not get anywhere near the house. It was all roped off..Crime Scene.

So many media trucks and satelittes. So many police.....

Well, I'm off to sleep. My migraine lasted from yesterday morning until around noon today and I'm completely exhausted. Didn't sleep much last night from the throbbing every time I moved. What's interesting is that everybody knew when I was better today because they told me they could see it in my eyes. Most people took one look at me and said, "Oh, you look like you have a migraine." Gee, lovely to know I looked that bad! ;) Then, later today when a co-worker came to my cube to ask me a question, as soon as I turned to look at her, she said, "Wow! I could tell the second you looked at me that your migraine is gone." Amazing. Anyway, after fighting one lasting this long (even though it was much shorter than I used to get before my daily preventative meds), I'm usually pretty wiped out. Plus, after work today I took Tyler to a carnival that's here for a few days, so that wore me out too. Goodnight all! :goodvibes

Tonight's service sounds like just what everybody needed. I'm sure it helped the grieving process. :grouphug: :sad1:

Lisa:

Flags at our elementary school(s) were at half mast today. My heart was breaking for you guys all day. Prayers and :grouphug: We're here to hear you and offer any support we can.

Lisa,

I agree with Nan. You are being the strong one with all the kids who are confused and scared. If you need to let it off your chest we are here.:grouphug:

Both of our Father's worked out at Edwards AFB for NASA. Leslie's dad is a retired test pilot and Shawn's dad was an Engineer. We saw quite a few Shuttle landings. It was always amazing.

Nope, sorry but I'm going to be praying that it will be delayed 2 days. We sail on Dec 8. ;) We did get to see it last Dec and it was awesome!!

I was traveling all day today and CNN everywhere. So sad. I'm in New Orleans at a conference. It is so strange that so many restaurants/shops are still closed. There is a huge shopping center as you enter into town and the taxi driver said that DeBartolo, the 49ers owner, has done nothing to fix it. It is maybe 30 stories and most of the windows are shattered. After listening to CNN all day between flights and then hearing the taxi driver's story of 8 ft of water in his home and insurance not covering a penny of it....so sad. I think we are in need for some Disney Magic. Lisa

My children are 35 and 29 now and they both remember the trip fondly. We were moving from CA to OR and DH had come up 6 weeks before us. We had to wait for school to be out, he had to get to the new job if he wanted it. It was a challenging trip because it was a 29 hour trip and we could not get a sleeper. Food was also a challenge as there was 1 dining car that sat 60 people and there were 600 people on the train. :confused3 We managed though and we laughed and saw beautiful country and they got to experience riding a train and eating in a dining car. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

It sounds wonderful...I'm still thinking about doing this. Lisa
