Well, I have now decided that it must have been kids driving around the neighborhood last night trying our various garage door openers. I also decided I wasn't the smartest heading downstairs with no mace, no phone, no protection except my 2 silly dogs who are friendly to everyone.
Weaning/bottles/college etc. I had the luxury of having both DD's at work with me until they went to preschool, so I didn't do much of a bottle with either (was able to breastfeed since they were with me all the time). I always tell my patients that the children will tend to wean when they are ready. To me there is a big difference between the bottle kids who walk around everywhere with one and those that use one as a comfort (like for naps). For most kids it takes 3 days to break the habit...whether bottles, binkies, nursing, etc. Whenever either of you is ready, it will be the right time. As far as the college thought, I am having a hard enough time with the idea that my baby starts K in the fall. I remember dropping off my first and she turned and ran to into the classroom and never looked back
as I sat there crying. I can't even imagine college drop off....esp. if they go somewhere far away.
