I LOVE LOVE LOVE wine tastings, but I have NEVER been to a champagne tasting....and that's my all time favorite drink! It's going to be so much fun...:rotfl:

Right now it's a champagne girls event, but we have lots of sea days, so if we have that much fun, maybe we should consider more than one event? The second one can include the lost beer boys along with the champagne girls and we can really have some fun...

Deb,

As I mentioned, we are also planning a wine tasting event that will include guys and dolls!! I'm sure that champagne will be in the mix!!:thumbsup2

Karen

Good morning. Yes I was awake at 6.15am, which is a pain on a Saturday!!! Anyway I have just read some trip reports so it was an enjoyable way to spend the time!!!:)

Marilyn,

Why were you up so early?:confused3

Just catching up!!

I don't know really Karen.:confused3 Our room is getting lighter in the mornings now and when I wake up I have so much on my mind - all these holidays you know!!!

Karen

Will these be some of your favourite wines Karen? It will be great to try some.

Just back from a lovely walk to town. Had a great cappuccino sitting outside in the sun and people watching. doesn't the sun bring out some 'unusual' clothing???!!!

Too nice to paint so may be gardening. Going out for tea to our son and daughter in law's as they are back from their week's trip to the Lake District and want to catch up on the work front. There are only 3 work days till we go away and Andrew is in charge!

Good morning to you as you wake up over there.:yay:

morning all!

I hate cleaning, hate it but it needs to be done. Just put in one load of laundry. Seems last night Samantha had a field day with my pc and my digital camera....some interesting shots though. Of course this was on John's watch. You think they would sleep in on Saturday....no such luck.

I am going through their clothes and costumes and going to put some on Ebay. We also have a huge wine cooler we need to get rid of, I have no idea how to price it though. I am going to try Craig's list for that. I have tons of stuff to get rid of - it's the sorting it out and actually doing it that takes so much time!

My little cruise box keeps growing and growing! The afro came in....it comes with it's own pic! Hilarious.....I also won some custom made Minnie sailor outfits that the girls can wear to board....they are adorable!

Alright, need to get moving....will check in on my many breaks I envision taking!

Well everybody, I'm off to dinner with a few women from work. There are only 4 of us now instead of 7 or 8 originally planned, but we'll still have fun! :thumbsup2 Have a great evening everybody!

And John1: Please behave.....enough banana talk from you. :rotfl: :lmao:

There is NEVER enough banana talk . . .

Good morning. Nice event last night, and Amy did a good job with the auction. What did we get? More Indians tickets! One night as guests in a suite for 2, and 4 tickets right by 3rd base with terrace club (the restuarant at Jacob's field) passes.

Good morning to you. My cruise box contains just our fish extender as yet!!! I have a notebook with hints and tips, plus other interesting titbits though!!! Hopefully this time next year it will be full to the brim.:cheer2:

I have ironing to do and keep putting it off!:rolleyes1

We upgrade as often as we can, but it doesn't always happen:sad2: Crazy that my girls whine (at the ages of 8 & 5) when they hear we aren't flying first class. DH just left for Georgia tonight and called to tell me he was smushed in coach between 2 large guys (on a red eye!). Glad it's not me:lmao:

This last time when we flew SW, we had 3 loud and rambunctious kids in the three seats in front of us. As people started to board, we figured out that mom placed herself one row ahead, across the aisle from them, and was blabbing on the cell phone oblivious to their fighting, etc. and Dad was one row back across the aisle in the window seat (where he could exert absolutely no control over said rowdy kids. When they got on, there were plenty of seats for them to sit closer.

In dad's row, another man had sat on the aisle seat, so they had the center seat open. Dad looked very comfortable. Well, they started saying it was a full flight, and before we pushed back, a very large (even by my standards) man came up the aisle, sweating profusely (probably from running to get to the plane), and the ONLY empty seat was that center seat. I thought to myself, there is some justice in the world, as the dad of rowdy kids got a wet plastering to his window seat.

Deb,

As always, an excellent outlook on life!! I am also a fan of that song!!:hippie:

Karen

Love that album - well, one side of it anyway.

Caught up. Time to take the dog to her weekly dog wash (a place where you pay $10 and wash the dog yourself and they clean up after you).

well, the girls bathroom is sparkling clean. Now I am afraid we need to venture out of the house which usually leads to loss of money. I have to take water to the pool store so they can check it out and then get some cleaning supplies, shoes for the girls and some form of dinner tonight.

all this talk of wine tasting has me thirsty!

I was on I10 until I got off on the 60 to Riverside, then went south on 215. Actually, the bad weather started between Quartzite & Blythe and continued until I started going south on 215.

I couldn't believe how dirty my car was!

Yep! Started just outside of Blythe for us, too. Car is STILL filthy, but laundry is done, grass is mowed...back to reality:).

Hope your visit to San Diego's going well...yesterday the weather in Fallbrook was lovely!

Carolyn

The very best way in my opinion! Nothing like that when we had a dog, just a wet performance in the bathroom and me cleaning up!!!

Well, it's another dreary chilly day here, sure wish the warmer weather and sunshine would hurry up and get here.
It's only 5 weeks from today until my DD's wedding  That means I only have 5 more weeks to find shoes:scared1: No time to shop today, I'm going to my MIL's 80th birthday party this afternoon, and then on to a shower for my DD. Tomorrow, it's off to work again, so looks like another busy weekend.
Hope everyone has a great weekend and keeps well .

Your post makes me think.....I used to fly alone too, at about the same age as you (my parents were divorced--Dad was still in NY and mom and I moved to TX). I flew alone all the time (Eastern Airlines...there's a blast from the past), yet my DS is 8, almost 9 and the thought of putting him on an airplane alone cannot even enter my mind. I guess in those times we were more trusting or the world wasn't as scary? Of course, my mom walked me onto the plane and handed me over to the stewardess (as they were called them) and my dad met me at the gate with 9-11 security stuff, I doubt they'd let parents do that today.

They are still very protective of kids flying alone. DGS flew here from Phoenix last Dec. Parents had to fill out paperwork as to who was picking him up, turn him over to the flight attendant at the gate, they had to stay there until the plane was off the ground, then I met him at the gate and had to sign for him and show picture ID even though he was squealing "Grandma!". We also had to pay an extra $40 each way to have the special attention for him. At 7 he could only be on nonstop flight. It was the only way we could get him to WDW and DCL with us, so even though his parents and myself were stressing the whole time we did it and he did just fine. The gave parents on that end and me on this end a pass to get us thru security without a ticket.

How exciting, only 5 weeks till your daughter's wedding. A very special occasion.:cloud9: The weather will be wonderful by then.:) For my son's wedding last year it took ages to find shoes that matched the outfit. I love shoes!

a bit of gloomy weather here today. Wilson has a little league game, but we think it might be called for weather :confused3 In that case, nothing to do but stay home and watch movies all day

Good luck on that shoe shopping :goodvibes

Would love to hear about the 80th bday party, we'll have one to plan this summer for my mom.

best go make some coffee and get an idea for breakfast....

Rainy morning here in the SF Bay area. DH and I are sipping our tea after having breakfast in bed watching Summer Magic!!:surfweb:

Update on the house...

Thank you to all for the pixie dust....the house was not sold today at auction:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cool1:
We still need to wait and hear what the bank is going to do, but for right now we are set. We will head to auction on June 29th and hopefully the house will be ours:love: ! We went there today and walked around, boy has it fallen apart in the last 6 months. It needs lots of TLC now, but we are ready, willing and able!!!! I'll keep you all informed.

:woohoo: WOOHOO! Congrats! Even though you have a bit of waiting to do now, that's great news! :thumbsup2

Hope you have some exciting stories to share after! Dinner with girlfriends sounds wonderful. Soon I will have my Maui time with my sister. Can't wait. Only four nights, but we will start living it up as soon as we board the plane! May 25...oh no. Just realized I will get behind again on DIS! I am actually over 230 pages behind. Still reading it all!
Lisa

No exciting stories. Really just a boring dinner at Bennigans. We all just shared a bunch of appetizers and chatted for a bit. Believe it or not, I was actually in bed by 8:30 last night!

Have fun Holly.
BTW, am I the only one that attempts to get caught up by reading the last post then reading backwards? Banana talk :confused3  Sometimes I wonder if I shouldn't stop here...but of course I'm continuing back to see what I've missed ;)

Kathe

:rotfl: Not much banana talk, I was really sort of joking because John1 made some comment about how he's afraid people might think his mind is always in the gutter. :lmao:

It was a very nice day, we did lunch after the appointment. Mom weighed 115 one week ago and today weighed 103. Not good. But the doctor caught it, thinks it's bacterial and gave her an antibiotic. Then we did lunch and made her eat. Thanks for asking. We're keeping her under close watch and hopefully can avoid the hospital trip this time.

:grouphug: for your mom and your family.....hoping she gets better quickly and can stay out of the hospital.

Friday the 13th got me today.

Daniel and I were on our way to Blacksburg, VA and my car just stopped on the HIghway :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: We were about 1 hour outside DC.

I really do have some wonderful friends. My husband drove out to where we were stranded and brought us another car. My best friend drove out to where I was broken down to pick up DH. We left the broken car there and will deal with it on Monday when I get back.

So now were are safe and sound in Balcksburg and ready for the program tomorrow. I am always amazed how beautiful this campus is.

I hope your car is OK!
