Well, my DH has my daughter and now one of her friends as well. The flight takes off from Tampa at 6:15pm (about 6 minutes) and they are on board!!

Today, a total of 8 students are sick (out of 40).....Annie and Laura are the first to leave.

I bought trip insurance on this trip. The trip was $2,000 and the insurance was $159. I am on the phone now with Worldstrides and they say the insurance only covers injury not illness. This really makes me mad.
How horrible! Makes me really angry too about the insurance.

So many students sick. Poor kids! I'm just glad Annie and her friend are on their way home to rest and recover. :grouphug:

:)

Aren't we all already?! :)

We were out to dinner the other night and my oldest was telling stories that she remembered about herself (from ones we told her). My youngest started asking for stories about her...we sat there for a long time and none of us (my parents and DH and I)could think of any. Talk about guilt. Talk about feeling like a bad mommy. I went home and started a journal for her, but it is still pretty empty:sad2:

Geez, that's ME! And, of course, the stories I remember aren't necessarily the ones the kids would like to hear. I plan on remembering DDs fear of driving out to the desert (which we did anyway on Saturday): She was worried about seeing road runners! Why? Because they run so fast... Nope...we didn't get it, either...

My solution for the long run is to take lots of pictures to jog my memory and not be afraid to embellish when necessary...

Good morning boys and girls! Quite night last night....did everyone go out and play? We did girls night out...movie and dinner. We saw the Don Cheadle (sp???) Adam Sandler movie and it was quite good (Peg needed a tissue). Had Chinese after (had too, that's all Adam Sandler's character ate during the movie).

Well, it's another Saturday morning and the burning question is....WILL I do some housework today???? Willl I get my stuff together for my taxes??? Will I at least find the top of my desk and craft table??? We'll see :confused3

Sports talk: I'm pretty much not following any sports right now. But I was a big Phoenix Suns fan/watcher back in the days of Charles Barkley and THUNDER Dan Marley. Basketball is my favorite sport to watch in person...always exciting, but if you have to miss a bit (fetching beer, running to the restroom) it usually comes down to the last few minutes of play anyway. ;) The only way I'll drag myself to a baseball game is if it's in the SUITE (air conditioning, private bath, comfy chairs)!

I hope someone can respond regarding the Atlantis day pass question, Peg really wants to go there in December. Me...I'm not getting off the ship, becasue a 3 day is TOO SHORT already. I will knock about Castaway Cay however ::yes::

Alrighty.....I'm off to read ONE trip report then start some housework...wish me luck!

Thanks SIS - for checking this out for me! I have 30 pages to read to catch up!!!!!

Had to look. Found a recipe for Pink Panty Droppers:

18 cans beer
1 bottle Everclear® alcohol
1 bottle tequila
1 1/2 jugs, pre-made pink lemonade

First add all 18 cans of beer to a large container. Add bottles of Everclear and tequila and last but not least add the pink lemonade. Place lemon slices in the mixture for extra flavor. Let sit for a few hours, then serve.

**I think I'd need to worry more about passing out than dropping panties after drinking this. Is this how you make it Kaylee? I, also, saw it with vodka rather than Everclear...

Carolyn

Mine is a bit milder...we do 12 cans of cheap beer :) 1 container of country time pink lemonade mix (just the powder) and then vodka (the tall skinny bottle size) (don't quote me on those amounts), but it is something like that. I have never had the tequila version, but it seems a lot stronger. Really, once it is made up, it just tastes like lemonade.

Glad to hear they are on their way back home. You must be relieved just to know she is with Dady now. What a lousy thing about the insurance. That is horrible.

:scared1:
He did really like Splash mountain, too. I'd have to ask him whether that tops Mission Space or not...

Carolyn

:rolleyes1
I was just remembering when the boys got us girls soaking!!!

Yes, they remember that, too! Definitely a highlight...I wonder if that was DH or Brent's idea? I know lil DS wouldn't have suggested that then. NOW that he knows you better he might...

It was rainy here in the desert yesterday (YEAH) and still overcast this morning, but the sun is trying to peak out.

More Sports Talk: The one thing I CAN sit through forever is equestrian events. ::yes:: Even dressage (which to some folks is like watching paint dry), especially if it's my baby sister competing. However it is nerve wracking to watch a loved one jumping. Pretty dangerous sport and thankfully Peg's come through her years with just a wrecked up finger (THAT was a fun day....not!).
AWWW come on, you didn't like to see me flying thru the air with no horse under me? That must have looked COOL! The flying part was fun, hitting the ground, not so much!

I'll never forget that day. Broken finger, broken tendon in finger...ahhh but I can still type like a fool. (Thanks Dr. Bobb!)

It was the cast and the drugs that was mostly the bummer, and not being able to ride for 6+ weeks!

No more cross country for this gal! Thankfully I can say, BEEN THERE DID THAT AND LOVED IT!:woohoo:

You would love England, and Wales, Scotland and Ireland if you could get there. We are all so diverse in such a small nation, and the countryside changes dramatically. If you like history of course, we ae full of that!

Well, I FOR ONE will find out soon! My hubby has business in Sweden in August and after we are heading your way!!! I've ALWAYS wanted to visit - even have some long lost cousins in Wales! Horseback riding thru your country side is CALLING ME!

:offtopic: Sorry, just have to share a story. Just got Tyler to bed and as I was leaving I reminded him that he'll hear thunder tonight and not to be worried about it. Of course, he told me he doesn't like that, it scares him, etc. Told me he wants me to make sure he doesn't hear it. I told him I can't do that because I can't change the weather. He asked, "Well, who can? The weatherman?" Nope. He asked, "God can, right?" I told him, "Yes, but he's not going to tonight because spring is the time for lots of rain because trees and grass and everything need lots of water to turn green again. We don't want the trees to stay naked....they need to grow leaves!" He laughed about that. I told him when he hears thunder, just remember it can't hurt us because it's just a noise. I told him it's just those crazy clouds bumping into each other. They're running around like crazy, trying to sprinkle rain everywhere it needs to go, and just not watching where they're going, so they crash into each other all the time. And those long rolls of thunder are just the clouds grumbling at each other sort of like they're saying, "Hey, would you watch where you're going? Quit bumping into me!" He just kept laughing harder and harder as I went along and all fear seemed to be gone. As I left his room, he said, "Mom, I'll remember to laugh at those silly clouds when I hear thunder." Phew! Now lets hope it works!

So I came into the living room and drew a picture on his easel of 2 clouds that just crashed and they have silly expressions on their faces, so hopefully he'll see it in the morning and laugh more!

This age is so fun! The silly things that make kids laugh! I do whatever I can to hear that great giggle!

And now......back to the champagne discussion!

Speaking of Mascots, don't know if all have heard about the tragedy that struck the UNC Tar Heel mascot. Really puts life into perspective. Not good at linking, put the picture below was very classy. At the time, the student was still in critical condition. Just thought it was a nice photo.

Hey John! Lorrie pmd me and felt terrible that she got the pirate...really didn't think that she would with the pace she is use to. She requested that I delete the posts so that someone with this group would actually have the pirate. It's been taken care of. :thumbsup2

Oh, she shouldn't have felt bad. It's all in fun. She should keep the post. She earned it like a good pirate. Aaargh! pirate:

In my Cat 2, of course! :thumbsup2

DH and I have been thinking about doing a wine tasting as well! We'll have to explore these options further when we find out how many people are involved!:rotfl2:

Karen

Fun. Yes, we could all chip in and you could make the selections. Let's think about this closer to cruise time. This cruise is just too far away. :sad2:
