Did you say your 50th? I would have guessed this was your 40th b-day pic. Looking good.

Godd catch on the birth year. My own sister didn't figure that one out :rotfl:

This is one active group. I probably won't catch up until after the Med cruise this summer but I am soooo looking forward to this cruise. I went thru the locks last time from my desk at work. I was so usless that day - I should have just taken a vacation day but my home computer wasn't as good :rotfl2:

Whenever you can, just join in.....there's always something going on and this is just an awesome group of people enjoying chatting with each other.

Enjoy the Med cruise this summer and give us a TR. This is such an historic cruise that I can see why you did the last one from your desk at work. How cool to do it for real next.

I'm tempted to watch just to see if Heather Mills leg comes flying off (I know that's horrible of me) and to see the cutie Apolo Anton Ohno

OK, I don't watch that show, but this is exactly what I thought when I read about it. We are sick, sick, people!

Welcome....figment is DH favorite character and Sandy is DDs name. Is 52 the year you were born? DH was born in 51. :)

Can I just say that DS9 is scared to death of Figment? :scared1: He isn't actually scared of him anymore, but when we took him on the ride when he was 5, he absolutely hated it. Here we took him on one of the few Epcot rides that was kid-friendly and he ended up with a Figment phobia for about 2 years. :rotfl: :rotfl:

OK, can't pass this one up . . .

I think Snape is going to end up being a good guy in the end - at least that is what I believe all the clues point to. We'll know in July.

I'm with you John. I think Snape is going to be good in the end.

As if you would ever leave your laptop behind!:lmao:

Sheesh, do we look like fools to you!!;)

Karen

OK . . . ordered a modem in case I need it (the Macbook laptops do not have internal modems). I really try to stay away from the net on vacation - we'll see.

So sorry to hear that DS doesn't like figment. I guess a purple dragon could scare a five year old. How does he feel about him now that he's nine? DH loves dragons and his favorite color is purple....and what could be better than imagination!
:cutie:

Caught up . . . going to bed.

Those of you with iPods . . .

You need to try www.audible.com

I get an audio book a month on audible. Would be glad to recommend some good ones. Much easier than tapes or cd's. Just download to iTunes and you've got it! If you decide to join, pm me, I think I can get a free book or something for a referral.

Have any of you tried Podcasts too? There is an incredible amount of educational and entertaining stuff out there, and ALL FREE!

Good night all!

(Oh, and what was up with the boards being down?)

Today is my first time on the boards since last Weds. and there is no way I'm going to catch up completely. I'm working from home today so that gave me a little time and I think I've at least caught up on the important stuff.

First and foremost, to all of those who are suffering losses, illness, or other tragedy, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

The weather is very interesting here today. All of the dogwood and cherry trees are blooming, the bees are out, the birds are singing, and it's SNOWING! We have had such weird weather this winter. I just want it to be over. I desperately need to dry out and warm up.

A quick trip to Disneyland would be a dream right now. But that's just not happening. Between saving money and vacation time for the cruise next year we'll be lucky if we can go camping this year. But, aaahhh, it's going to be so worth it. I've been planning this vacation for years. Originally, when I was dreaming of this vacation it was going to be 10 days in WDW and a week long Disney cruise. But it's so much better! A week at WDW and 2 weeks on the Magic will be pure heaven.

I wish I could participate in the Harry Potter conversations but I never did get into that phenomenon. I'll have to stick to the shoes and shopping conversation. I know a lot about that!

Thought I should post a picture about my kitty. Her name is bear and she is a lover when it's on her terms. She does the staring at the floor thing too. I always thought she was just a spacey cat. Guess she's not the only one. Also, our pomeranian, Bella. She was supposed to be my 50th birthday present. I really wanted a chihuahua but I got talked out of it. But she has turned out to be my husband's dog. She and I don't really get a long. He spoiles her so rotten that now she has some behaviour issues. My DD who lives with us also has a cat named Simba. I'll save pics and stories about him for another day.

Sorry to be so long winded.

Tina

Thanks for sharing those great pics! Crazy weather around here...we had snow at work, called DH at home (5 miles away) and it was sunny!

:offtopic: DH Grumpy John wants me to post the news that happened at my house today....We have a genuine .50 ctw diamond puppy. While we were having a snuggle fest today, Angel popped up and bit my ear. Afterwards I found that my right earring, a .50 ctw diamond small hoop, was missing. Couldn't find it anywhere....puppy must have swallowed it! We're hoping this too shall pass!

OK, now I am the spitting diet coke on my computer....:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: That is so funny, have fun finding it! :rotfl2:

:offtopic: Kindof.....it ties in w/ the weight loss for the cruise....

Has anyone ever tried (or heard of ) Zumba?? I'm really curious about it. I love the Walk away the pounds tapes, and probably should just get off my tush and do those, but would maybe like to try some thing new and up beat.

LOVE zumba!!! :thumbsup2 That is what I have been doing 2x per week at my club as a new workout for me. It is tons of fun (it was the class last week that the cop was watching us). The DVD's are supposedly great too. I would probably do more shaking if I did it at home, but luckily I get a spot in the back! :rotfl2: :dance3: If you have any specific question, PM me.

Thank you to everyone for you thoughts and hugs! On my way home from work I saw his sister and best friend putting up a memorial on the road where he was killed. Kind of made it hit home. And, why is it that the drunk always survives and kills the innocent?!?!?!?!?! :confused3

Am I on the RIGHT Thread?????

Is this the WB thread????

What happened to the days of 2 pages a day ????

Anyway, so far so good with dad . . .

Today things looked much better, and he is in good spirits. They gave him two units of blood, and medication to clear and disolve the clots. The doctor said that other than what he came to the hospital for, for an almost 85 year old man, he is in fairly good health. If the clots get resolved and they do not find any other issues, he could come home in a few days.

Well, only 25 or so pages to catch up on - I won't comment unless absolutely necessary.

John....so glad to hear the good news. That is wonderful. pixiedust: works:)

I am on this cruise with you guys but I don't think I am ever going to catfch up with everything that is going on - 400+ days out and already at 681 pages ---- is that some kind of record LOL

I can only imagine the roll call - is every cabin represented? LOL

:welcome: If you think we post a lot, take a peak at the the "other" repo cruise...and they have 3 months longer to wait than us!

DD8 was like that with Figment the first time too. :lmao: Sounds like they might hit it off great :thumbsup2 Now she loves it and is a Figment pin collector but the first time on the ride (5.5) she freaked :rotfl:

(Oh, and what was up with the boards being down?)

John, thank you for that list. My mom was looking for an audio book site just the other day and asked me to find her one. I will PM you if she decides to sign up...of course she doesn't own the iPod yet:rotfl: her birthday is 4/20 and she is hoping my dad gets it for her then, but she likes to be prepared :rotfl2:

Well, somehow I always pick the most unpopular times to be on line....so here I sit chatting with myself (Holly & Deb...I guess it is contagious!:lmao: ). I am off to watch The Holiday :happytv: with DH.

The boards seem to be acting weird tonight so I have been off and on.

:surfweb:

ahhh...Harry Potter.....

how will it all end??? i know Dumbledore is dead because his portrait showed up in the Headmaster's office. He will still be able to give some advice to Harry this way...besides, he already gave Harry the way Voldermort can be defeated....LOVE (i.e friendship)...(at this point in book 6 i was reminded of the scene in Brother Bear where he was given the love totem...:lmao: )

i think we have all been thinking about another showdown between Harry and Voldemort like the one in book 4 but i do not think we will see another one on one magical fight...i think Voldemort will be defeated by most of the members of the DA, Harry's friends. Voldemort never had anyone close enough that would actually die for him and fight for him because the Death Eaters are doing all this for their own reasons and "glory"...i think we will see a final battle where Harry and his friends, possibly adults friends too, all face Voldemort together......and that is why the power of love can overcome the darkness of voldemort...

that being said...do you think Harry will live at the end?:wizard:

I think he will live! Though I can see the appeal to an author to "kill" off a character to prevent imitators.

Sweetie, I work in a bookstore, . I will have the book at store open, although I can get an extra 6% off the cover price via Chapters and get the book at midnight, hmmm. I think that I will re-"read" the second book, then listen to the others before the 7th comes out. But it will be nice to have all 7 on my ipod. I have two copies of each book, the mass market cover and the adult cover.

Talk away, I will be with you all.:coffee:

I'll start re-reading all the books probably around the middle of June. I always re-read then before the next release.

Harry Potter

That is something I need to get into. I have never read a book. My DD has only read one. I will have to start reading them.

Aruba

Has anyone thought about what they are going to do in Aruba? Did the other repos stop there?

I've been wondering this too? Was it a stop last time?
