Haven't thought too much about the cruise, probably going to do some "wine tasting"!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

We'll look into some excursions too (DH already has done some planning) and hopefully my sister will be coming for the WDW part of the trip afterword! :thumbsup2

We are planning to be there for Thanksgiving which is usually our holiday, so the family will just have to do without us!! ;)

Karen

Sorry Karen, I fell asleep on you last night without even saying Goodnight.

This sounds like a wonderful trip.....more wine tasting....:lmao: :rotfl2: ....excursions.....and World with Sis for Turkey Day....

Isn't it nice to know you'll be back in Mickey's world to pacify the waiting time until the Repo cruise....it's helpful to me.

:cheer2:

:offtopic: DH Grumpy John wants me to post the news that happened at my house today....We have a genuine .50 ctw diamond puppy. While we were having a snuggle fest today, Angel popped up and bit my ear. Afterwards I found that my right earring, a .50 ctw diamond small hoop, was missing. Couldn't find it anywhere....puppy must have swallowed it! We're hoping this too shall pass!

:rotfl2:

I bought shoes today! Dropped DrHug at work then went to the outlet mall. One shirt at Coldwater Creek, one top and shoes at Liz Claiborne, a stop at the kitchen store for a couple of items we needed for the MH and then to Harry and David's for dark chocolate truffles! Then to pick up DrHug to have lunch with him, now back at the MH DISing. My days are good this week!

sounds like another good day....any day when you buy new shoes has got to be good!:thumbsup2

Anyway, so far so good with dad . . .

Today things looked much better, and he is in good spirits. They gave him two units of blood, and medication to clear and disolve the clots. The doctor said that other than what he came to the hospital for, for an almost 85 year old man, he is in fairly good health. If the clots get resolved and they do not find any other issues, he could come home in a few days.

So glad to hear your dad is doing better John. Thinking of you all.

DH and I at DL this past christmas. I hope this works. This is my first attempt at posting a pic.

Great picture!:thumbsup2

Karen, do you plan on doing World before your next cruise. I'm doing a Halloween 4 night and I'll be in World on Nov 1 and 2. If you plan on going there before your cruise and will get there early enough, we should do a miniDISmeet. :cheer2:

I see that you've already done a 4 night. What did you do in Atlantis?:goodvibes

I'm in WDW for Hallowe'en too. we're there from 19th October until 1st or 2nd November I think, going with DH, my parents, my sis and her family, and dd and her bf too....11 of us in all :)

Only me around this morning! Well I guess you are all asleep.

A question for you all.

What are you thinking of doing after the cruise?

We are thinking of doing Disneyland Sunday/Monday - heading back Monday or Tuesday. Unfortunately, it is a holiday weekend, so I am not yet sure weather DL is a good idea.

Hey everyone,

Do you like all of the stuff that DH added in our signature? After all, this is HIS login!!!:thumbsup2

He wants to know how he can get the ship in the ticker? Any advice? John?:confused3

Karen

Karen,

I am "ticker-challenged" one area where I have no expertise - you may notice I don't have one - PJ?

Just a word to the wise for you too, there are limits on Sigs - can't remember where they are posted. Someone here (PJ again?) I'm sure can advise you. I had mine checked out by a Mod friend because I was over the limit on pixels, lines, or some combination of the above. (I know, party pooper) just a warning in case a mod sends you an email warning.

I have a question too that I bet someone may have help on (Birkner?) I CANNOT find the perfect carryon for gadget gear! Do they make such a thing?

I need a bag that can hold - a laptop, a SLR digital camera, an extra lens, a compact digital camera, Bose headphones, a compact camcorder, my iPod, and a cpap machine (sleep apnea aid), a book or two, and travel documents. It needs to have wheels too.

Business cases are either just for laptops and business stuff (not cameras too) and other bags are primarily for clothes. Has anyone found the "ultimate" gadget bag?

Right now, I cram into a samsonite business case which is bursting at the seams.

Hi Angel, Good Morning....I have to share part of your PM to me with the rest of this group....it just craked me up....

"I'll brush up on me cockney slang then me old duck, ok."

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao: :lmao:   :rotfl: :rotfl:

....that's for our Ladies Only (sorry gents) High Tea at Palo....:cloud9:

Too Funny!:dance3:

Well, it looks like I jinxed myself be talking about never having been a victim of the boards going down. Tried to post one more time before bed last night (maybe around 11-ish) and got a message that said "The boards will be closed for upgrades". So now I see what it looks like when that happens. Oh well.....it was time for me to get to bed anyway, so no biggy! :thumbsup2

Just checking in briefly before boss gets in this morning. :goodvibes

OK . . . ordered a modem in case I need it (the Macbook laptops do not have internal modems). I really try to stay away from the net on vacation - we'll see.
Awwww, come on John! You know you'd miss us too much! And we'd miss you too! :goodvibes

Well, somehow I always pick the most unpopular times to be on line....so here I sit chatting with myself (Holly & Deb...I guess it is contagious!:lmao: ). I am off to watch The Holiday :happytv: with DH.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We were at a great winemaker dinner tonight at one of our Benicia restaurants. It was with Sausal Winery, one of the oldest wineries with some of the oldest vineyards in the state.:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Excellent dinner! Really good pairings!! Very full now, however!! ;)

Karen

Wonderful, BUT....has he ever posted here?! :rotfl:

Oh Holly, I hate it when that happens....Oh well, just have to catch up on reading this morning...Enjoy and good morning to you! Have a great day! :wizard:

I'll be headed right back home that same day. Too many days without Tyler. The following day is Memorial Day, so I'll have the day off work and can spend Sunday night (whatever time I get home) and all day Monday catching up with him.

It is nice to be missed, but I may be too busy swimming, running around WDW, etc.

Thanks for the nice comment - Like I said, we'll see!

I am optimistic that dad will be fine, and that he is under good care.

We are hopeful for a good prognosis, and hopeful to still leave for a week on Friday.
John, I hope your dad continues to improve and that you get to make your trip.:flower3:

V, there was one for every port and one big one for the sailing as a whole, another for PC day. On the WB is was a zoo and people were sleeping in the halls to get a spot in line, on the EB they seems to get the whole pin distribution system fixed. I have pictures in my purse of people with pillows and blankets in the artium, had to show Sasha from Crotia, whom now lives in my city. There may have also been normal Artist choice and Captian's choice pins as well.

PJ (or anyone who knows), what did they do differently in distributing the pins on the EB?

I am way behind also as DH lost his aunt to cancer last week and the memorial service is today.
Wamest wishes and Regards,

Noel

My condolences to you and DH, Noel.

Aruba

Has anyone thought about what they are going to do in Aruba?

I'd like to go snorkling there.:fish:

I lost both my parents. One to a terminal disease and one to a tragic sudden death. The fortunate thing (if that term should even be used) about a terminal disease versus a sudden tragic death is you can say goodbye. The bad thing is it is very painful and takes a long time to recover from being care giver to mourner. I am only 34 and have lost both parents. The most pain for me has been not being able to share the joy of my girls with my parents. We lost DH's mom last April so we are down to one Grandpa who lives on the East Coast. We have flown out 3 times in the past 2 years because I think it is so important. I am thinking Florida would just be a better spot for us.:goodvibes

My situation was the same as yours--lost my dad suddenly, mom to cancer. I am grateful that I got to say good-by to mom; it haunted me for years that I didn't with dad. My youngest sister's son (in pic below) is in the situationm of your girls--never knew either grandfather and barely remembers my mom. His other grandma lives across the country. One of the reasons I wanted to retire was so I could spend more time with him--he only lives 90 mi. away so I get to see him pretty often and we talk on the phone. I took him to DL in Jan. and it was blast! I could easily be his grandma, age-wise; in fact, people often make that assumption when we're together. I like to think that I can fill in part of the gap for him. I was so lucky growing up as my dad's parents lived across the street from us and were a major part of our lives--really a blessing.

Is there an update on the missing diamond caper?
:dog:

Lost my dad when I was 34 and my mom at 38, I still miss them terribly, every day!:sad1:

DD didn't know her Granpa too well as she was 8 months old when he passed away, but he loved her to bits and I think that she kept him alive longer than he would have been.:cutie:

My mom and DD were very close, even though she was only 4 1/2 when her Oohma passed away. She still thinks of her often and calls them both her angels on her shoulders!

DD's dad passed away a year and a half ago and we are not close to DD's mom (witch, did I say that outloud?)

My Sister's is my daughter's best friend and lives right behind us!! So special!!

Hugs to all who have lost those that they love!!!:grouphug: They are angels on our shoulders!

Karen

My nephew below was the light of my mom's life, also and I truly believe he helped her live longer, too. I like your daughter's sentiment! I do feel that they are close by and watching over me.

Hi Marilyn, I'm awake....we're planning on staying one week in the LA area. Me and DH have never been to California. So we're going to do DL for the first time and Universal Studios and a few touristy things. Then we're going to drive to San Diego and do the Aquarium and drive up the coast a little to maybe the Santa Barbara area and do a wine tasting and/or tour. That should fill up our week quickly. We'll get a hotel and rental car and then fly home at the end of the week.

How about you? Any plans yet?

We are probably going to hire a car straight away and head off towards SF. We went in 1997, I think, but only had one full day there and always wanted to go back. I would have liked to go to DL, but not that particular weekend!! We did stay in Anaheim on that trip and headed up to Six Flags Magic Mountain and Universal, not Disney. There was only the one park then of course. I think we will have been lazy enough for the 15 days to want to lie on a beach near LA too!!! Need to get moving.:rotfl:

We will probably have one night on the journey, perhaps Morro Bay as we really liked it there, and a few in SF, popping over to the wine country too. We will fly back from there, day to be worked on!! Problem is that we would need a shuttle flight up from London this end and that is tiring after the flight and with jetlag!! Another option is to leave SF earlier and fly back to Orlando to take the return flight home from there, direct to the North of England.

Not yet Cheri, we're still on standby...will let you know when the booty is back! :rolleyes1

You said "booty"! :rotfl2: Hmmmm.....isn't that where it will come from?! :rotfl2: (Sorry....that's what happens when you live alone with a 4-yr old boy.)

Oh my gosh! Wish me luck on keeping my sanity today. My old boss just walked from his office, all the way across the building to my cubicle, asked me to come to his office. (Note: usually he calls me to ask me that...maybe he forgot how.) I follow him back to his office and when I get there, he asked me if I did a particular thing yesterday I was supposed to do. "Yes sir. I sure did." He says, "OK...That's all I have for now."  :confused3

CALGON, TAKE ME AWAY! (Or should I say: Alejandro, take me away!) :rotfl2:

Wow, I would love to do SF and the wine country, but DH said it'll have to happen on another trip. You just can't do it all at once. We'll probably lie low on Memorial Day weekend, local haunts and beaches...we're looking to stay at Rodondo Beach, near the Santa Monica pier. We'll hit DL during the weekdays and and save the driving days for then too...hopefully, less crowds.

It sounds like flying back from Orlando might be better on the jetlag. At least when the overseas flight lands, you're home. It's a long trip, especially leaving from SF to start. :upsidedow
