Exactly!!! That's so nice to hear Karen....I hope it helps Holly. I had set up my life on an individual path and I could stay there and be happy without ever changing. BOOM!!! That's when we met. I was 33 when we met and married.

Holly, How old are you??? How long have you been single???

Deb,

I actually realized I was 33 when we married (how soon one forgets...) and DH was 37. I was 34 when I had DD (that's where that number came from...)

Another blond moment...:rolleyes1

Karen

Ok, added the logo into my signature and now I KNOW I must have too much in it!!!!:rolleyes1

Wouldn't want to cut anything, but it is obnoxiously big!!

Karen, Queen of the monster DIS SIG!!!

We were both 33 when we married...cool....only no DD for us the following year. We acquired his young adult DD and DS from a previous marriage. It's my first, his second marriage. His kids have been with us since the start. Still are, only now we have GKs too!!!

Another blond moment...:rolleyes1

Where and When are we going to see a picture of you and DH. So far, only DD, who is just exquisite.

Karen

Go back and read the PS that I edited into my last post to you.

That looks great. Might mention it the my gym and see if we can bring that in as well. We are expanding to do more dance classes but this seems to fit in making things different. I saw one of these about 3 years ago, but never did anything with it. Now maybe I should start.

Marilyn:
Tell me a bit more about Hooping...how long are the classes? Is that all you do in the class or is it part of an interval type workout (some step, some weights etc)? I am teaching some classes at my gym now (lectures not the aerobics ones) and am wanting to bring in something new in terms of a class. Maybe you could PM me with some information so we don't bore everyone else here with hooping discussions! :lmao: Thanks so much! (and thanks for the link, now I want to run out and buy one!).

Our classes have been very basic, and as yet just moves we have learnt. We have yet to put a routine together. Our instructor does 6 week courses to get folk going as you can do so much on your own anyway. There should be a mixture of dance, yoga and gym type moves. We use the hoop for arm exercises too. Only had 5 x 40 min classes but we have improved immensely.

This is the website our instructor is linked to and there are instructor classes etc. Just get a hoop and get going for now. :dance3: The lady on the website, Cristobel, was over here last week and was on our local tv - amazing.

Oops, sorry to bore everyone. Just re read fourmcds' post and she said to pm her!!

When does everybody have (had) Spring break. Ours is next week, the week before Easter. I always thought that was strange...seems Spring break should be the week after Easter :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

Over here the school holidays has always been over Easter, usually the 2 weeks with the Easter weekend in the middle. We also get about a week in February as half term. However it seems that some school authorities are beginning to have the Easter weekend break and then a Spring Break at the beginning of April.

Thank everybody for listening to me the last few days.....I was just crazy!!

Annie has had 3 doses of Meds now and looks like a new person. The doctor said after the 4th dose she should not be contagious anymore. Her fever has been gone all day. Her breathing is back to normal. She is smiling!!

Not sure what I will do with the school.....

So pleased Annie has improved so quickly. Children are so resilient and it is lovely when we see them smile again.

Good Morning Marilyn!!!:goodvibes

Karen, DH was 39 when we met and married. I couldn't remember ... blonde (but I'm not) moment. I had to count from the year he was born to figure it out. I forgot. Now, I'm really telling my age.:upsidedow

Deb,

Yes, getting better. Still finding that I don't have alot of energy, and I didn't sleep well at all last night.:sad2:

Should be back to normal soon, I hope!:thumbsup2

Karen

Bit of a long job for you Karen. Really hope you are back to normal for the weekend.

Haven't been into it the last two seasons. They lost me... and the rest of the family too!:upsidedow

How was your quick evening out?

Karen

I watched a couple of episodes and then when the writers said they had enough material for at least 8 years I decided I just didn't want to watch it for the rest of my life!!!:rotfl:

Opps!
tink04girls2.png

Wonderful!!!:thumbsup2

Don't give up on all blind dates though - that's how I met DH - 20 years ago - ack!! (My parents met on a blind date too!)

John and I met on a blind holiday!!!:lmao:

Yup! My motivation is still going strong! Last week I went to the gym Wed, Thurs, Fri, and Sat. This week I went yesterday and today.....and plan on tomorrow and Sat too. :thumbsup2 4 days is all I can do because of my schedule.

Cindy just met that guy at the bar and hadn't talked with him long enough to know he was a jerk. He hadn't had so many drinks yet at that point. He kept drinking, then by the time I left, the bartender told me he just finished his THIRD 6-pack of beer! :sad2: I would never hang out with somebody who drinks that much.....and I suspect his behavior was the result of so many drinks. :scared: She just started talking to him and when she found out he goes to the same law school as me, she thought we'd have something in common.

Alejandro.....you spelled it right! :thumbsup2 He's history. Long story short, I found out he has a WIFE back home in Mexico! Lots of people called her and told her about us, so he called me and fessed up. I was pretty crushed because I got hooked by his killer smile really fast, but I'm OK with it now because I know that just means there's somebody better out there somewhere, just waiting for me to find him.

Sorry about Alejandro, he is obviously using his 'killer smile' to his advantage!:sad2:

Keep going with the gym, well done.:yay:

like the tink in pink...

frogs can be princes in hiding in bars too...met mine there (yup) we had both been drinking...he told me the next day when he picked me up for dinner "I thought you were blonder" still says that to me 15 years later...

tomorrow is my big 43. Whoppie! Facial planned so far, maybe a pedi too, we'll see how the day goes.

Nite all,

Nan

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NAN.

:bday: :bday: :bday:

Have a lovely day and spoil yourself.

Well, I met my friend when we did nurse training, and at 19 we wanted to go on holiday. We are talking 1967, so a different age. My friend's mum wouldn't let her go on holiday with her boyfriend, so I was invited. We looked at a holiday in Europe, but couldn't afford it, so my friend's boyfriend said he had a friend at college whose father had static caravans on a site on the south coast and we could rent one. One for myself and Daphne and a smaller one for Peter. Well, John, Peter's friend, then suggested he came along, so we were a foursome. We were all Christians, so it seemed safe enough!! On the last night of the 2 week holiday a very shy John asked if we could see each other again!! We married 2 years later. That is 38 years this year.

Deb,

We are actually on the website in Faces2, but on my evening of discovery with the photobucket images stuff, I put several pictures of us on page 551!:cool1:

Karen

Thanks for that...now I remember....just connecting the dots...or should I say faces....:dance3:

Hi Karen.

Yes we are in Europe, officially!!! I think I was using that term we would have used in those days and I think sometimes now when we mean mainland Europe!! We would also use the term 'abroad'!

By static caravan we mean big mobile homes that can only be on a site and not towed. I am not sure you call them caravans do you?

It is very late, or early...whichever way you look at it. The DISboards are about to go down I think. It's happened to me before around this time. So I'm going to say Good Day Marilyn and Good Night Karen.

It's been really fun chatting with you ladies...or should I say, Champagne Girls!!!!:rotfl2: :lmao: :dance3: :cheer2:

Must fly!

Karen and Deb - have a good night's sleep and hope you feel better when you wake up later today!
