oh do tell, who who who....

Okay, I could not remember her name so I went to the Wife Swap web page and I found her. Season 2.

Lori Grimes

interviewmanualrulesCalifornians Lori Grimes (46) and her husband, Doug (47), are intent on training their teenage children, Miles and Ragan, to be impeccable family members and corporate citizens.

Lori's "first time obedience rule" allows no flexibility when she gives direction. Describing herself as strict but loving, this school and church play choreographer and stay-at-home mom orchestrates her clan with an iron fist. Husband Doug, a former military man, also expects the utmost precision and conservative moral values - so much so that daughter Ragan (13) studies traditional Irish dancing because the family believes it is the least "suggestive" style. Her brother, Miles (16), has no time to spare, what with practicing piano and banjo, studying, doing chores and joining in the family sing-alongs.

I have some sad news.....our friends Lucy and Bob and Lisa/LiserAnn's good friends, had to cancel this cruise. I'm so saddend that they're not coming. They are such nice and funny and good people. They will surely be missed. So if any of you have them on any of your lists, please cancel.

So sorry they can't make it!

Hi Woody

Looking forward to meeting you.

Oh yes, I emailed to DCL for two an interpreters which we had them last Cruise at Med. Brian and Jennifer as they were brilliant. But DCL emailed and said cannot guarantee to have them. So we wait and see but we don't mind different interpeter people anyway. We had Tara and Tony last two years ago as they were brilliant too. I managed keep touch with Tara and I told her watch this space!!

I think DCL provides us very good like an interpreter, minicom in room, flashing light & door bell too!! We cannot believe that when we were on frist time at Wonder Cruise.

Scottishwee35:thumbsup2

Deborah,

I want to ask you a question, and I feel like a tourist who does not know the language (which is true in this case). For those of us who do not know or understand sign language, when we meet you, how do you prefer to communicate with those of us who are not literate in signing?

I just don't want to miss the opportunity of getting to know you or your family. I also do not want to offend or do anything inappropriate.

You're never outnumbered... just put on a pink tu tu and you'll be fine...

NOT happening!

I'll be at the GF... Just tell me where to go for a meet and I'll be there... Maybe one of the restaurants off the beaten path - Olivias or whatever so we can take over the place for a meet???

Olivia's would be great, but transportation may be a problem without a car. We would have to go to DTD, transfer to an OKW bus, and to the reverse heading back. Of course, the problem with DTD is where to go there. The Rainforest is so loud and crowded it would be impossible to get to really meet everyone. Any ideas out there?

I don't mean to overstep, but I need to ask you something... Not knowing either sign language... what's the best way to communicate with you when we meet?

All I can say is great minds must think alike!

that is sad - what was their username Deb?

:rotfl:
Me too V. Like this time last year - only much better of course as now it is only a little over 3 months to go!

I haven't started training yet!

By the way with Karen not being able to ship the Champagne etc how do you think we will manage this?

Karen said she will ship to her hotel and then carry it on board....for the champagne and for any wine orders that anyone wants to place with her beforehand.

Will they let her do that? I am sure they will think that she will be drunk the entire cruise, lol.

When I was young, I wished for the attention of the girls, and never got it . . . just goes to show you, watch what you wish for!

Of course, humor is the most dangerous. I have gotten myself in trouble over that one more than once - here included!

:lmao: :rotfl2:

Those who are going early can ship to themselves at the resort and carry it onboard.

Great idea! :thumbsup2

I think having a buddy helps..imagine being 5 and walking into a room full of kids you don't know. can be kind of scary!

Just ask my dd, I am not sure that she will want to stay alone at all at the OC.

And super cold would be ?????

(I hope not 58!)

62?

well - I got the maxed out merit! It's well above budget, which we rarely do. So I am thrilled! (not so much I will really see a difference in my paycheck though)

Congratulations!

It's really hard on people who aren't used to the heat. We can stay all day....and the girls are usually fine in their swimsuits. Both have fallen asleep on the loungers though.

If you are by a beach there usually is a breeze....also, keep a wet washcloth around your neck - it will help keep you cool. The beers on the other hand, warm you up!

First, Welcome to all new DISers!

Questions:

I know its port of los angeles where we arrive in CA but what is the closest location to look for the car rental...Long Beach? Thanks to the new DISer for the info I was looking for....Avis is open on Sunday...I'm looking to rent a car after the cruise ends but don't know what's closest...Long Beach?

Also, anyone who has little ones what do you do about car seats?

we'll be in Florida hopefully a week before the cruise so we'll be in my parents car and in-laws and probably renting one as well should we just pay the rental company $ for the booster or does anyone know of any travel car seat we could take..or we'll have to rent again in CA. All the travel car seats I've seen are for smaller children. My DS is about 48" but 46 or so pounds DD is about 46" and 45ish pounds...all of the travel booster type seats I've seen are up to 40 pounds and under 42" I think Ideas anyone?

I bought this vest for dd when we went on our 4 day Wonder cruise, since we would be taking a cab in Nassau:
http://www.safetrafficsystem.com/

It takes little space and feels very safe to us.

OK, all you HYATT MCO PEOPLE where are WE having dinner the night before the cruise?

I don't even remember what's available in the airport and has anyone eaten at the Hyatt's restaurant?

I get in 5PMish, I think, and will wait several hours for more folks to show up.

So, suggestions???

I am dying to go to the Melting Pot, but I am not sure DH wants to, but there is a Macaroni Grill at the airport.

I hear they have Chilis so maybe you could start the margueritas a little early...

I just got off the phone with DCL and they are doing staggered dining times for anyone who was wondering. Since we're late dining I asked for the times and they're 8, 8:15 and 8:30.

I hope we can get the 8 pm, since early seating is too early and later than that will be too late for dd.

With some of these! :grouphug:

Yep, a little drinkey-pooh and maybe some wings to hold me over till the rest of the gang arrives.

Well, Hemispheres at the Hyatt looks too pricy, but McCoy's Bar and Grill looked pretty good. There's a Macaroni Grill and the aforementioned Chili's.

I know there are quite a few of us staying there...two Hummerzines full, but don't know how many will be there at dinner time.

We might be there, but don´t know yet, must check with dh to see his plans (and see if we can fit them with my shopping plans :rotfl2: )

I was just wondering what if any nick names people use ( or don't)

I tend to shorten names if there are short ones that are common, but I know that not all people like that.

I was always Nan when I was little. In junior high I thought it sounded TOOOO tomboyish (ok, that was me regardless of my name :rolleyes1 ) so in an effort to be more feminine I used my middle name (Robin) for all of junior high. Yup my yearbook reads Robin. In high school I moved back to my full first name, Nanette. That stuck until I started working for myself 1996, then I was too busy and went back to Nan been there ever since (although, DH would rather call me Nanette)

long winded as usual. You can just call me babbermouth. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Love Nan.

someone else's room?:confused3 would be a great way to make a new friend:rotfl:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

:scared1: is all I can say for our fellow passengers....:lmao:

:lmao: :rotfl2:

We ate at the Outback last time but I'm pretty sure it was past security so unless you have a boarding pass for an airline in that terminal you wouldn't all be able to meet there. Unless there's more than one?

I am pretty sure I have been the Outback too, so it must be at the terminal that Aeromexico uses.

I've got lots of those . . .

John always works, but my nickname in college was Bear. (Long story)

Last cruise I was Bananaman

You can also call me Captain Spanx

(I doubt that Amy will want to be around me now)

I think I remember her. Not such a "nice" person. I frankly can't see Don with someone like that when I know you...I think he got the better end out of that deal, if ya know what I mean.

Bear>???

Ok, spill it!

Ditto spill it Bear.

I guess then you want to hear about No-No Nanette. Just kidding no-no No-No story, just the name of the play and yes it was used over and over again while I was in the sorority...good ole college days.:scared1:

Bummer, these dates don't work for us. We are on school vacation the week of April 7-12. Anyone want to meet up in Dland during that time?

Seems like none of the dates work for me either. Our school is out from March 21st until March 30th. Mini Dis meet in Disneyland during those times would work for me.

All I can say is great minds must think alike!

Regarding where to eat at DTD.....you could do Wolfgang Puck's and sit outside....you could put some tables together and have privacy and a good conversation environment.....just a thought.

DWTS - Joey Fatone was in the audience and got dragged on stage.
Wayne Newton sang three times too many, Joey Lawerence was there and Monica Coleman and julio - the race car driver.....that was it for celebrities!

My Dis name was my sorority pledge class nickname, they gave my whole class Winnie the Pooh names. I wasn't into Disney at all then.

Ohio State John!!

Don't know if you follow football recruiting all that intensely or not, but the #1 rated high school player (Terrel Pryor) is down to a few schools. TP is a spread-option style quarterback and at one time he had Ohio State, Michigan, Florida, Penn State, and Oregon as his finalists. He just officially tripped Michigan this past weekend and apparently has been to tOSU many times. Sounds like he is now choosing between UM, tOSU, Oregon, and a late push from LSU.

This coming weekend he will be taking an official visit to Oregon. With the success Dennis Dixon had this past year, we are hoping he will be enamored with our facilities and our offense. Am not ashamed to say that it may also be helpful to have Phil Knight and Nike in our back pocket (no illegal recruiting aid though)! Being that he is also a 5 star basketball recruit, this will be the perfect weekend for him to visit. We have UCLA and USC visiting. One of the oldest and loudest basketball arena's will be jumping. The Pit will be the place to be!

As rabid college football fans, this is huge, huge, huge. Players of this level usually don't find their way to Oregon (with the exception of Jonathon Stewart). He could be the answer to the missing link we have had to becoming a realistic power and contender for the National Championship. Will be sitting on the edge of our seats until signing day on February 6th.

Yes, I have read about him. Tressel is an awesome recruiter, but losing in the Championship game - AGAIN - sure doesn't help!

Confession time:
I was so envious of the first panama canal and the first med cruise as they both had joey fatone on the ship for entertainment. I have been a fan of his for over 10 years. And while he is way to young and no brad pitt. He's my type of guy! I'd love to have him be the entertainment for this trip! It would make my day to have a picture with him! Sad to admit how many nsync concerts I went to....I'm pathetic I know!
