That DCL rep was uninformed. Call again! You just have to use DCL transportation (bus). :thumbsup2 You can sign up for it at the DCL desk at the resort before you go to the ship. You just need to give them your flight #.

I told her we had purchased the DCL transfers. We are arriving on May 7th and staying at the Poly before the cruise. We will take the DCL bus to PC. We have DCL transfers after the cruise to LAX.

Thanks for the info. If we can do this I will book Airtran.

Holly, I am sure this has been done, but did they do a routine blood test on him to make sure he wasn't anemic or have something else going on that might cause the licking? Can't wait to hear about Sheilah's reaction at the appt tomorrow. Sounds like the Dr's office is very well managed.
[
No blood test. Maybe it's something the psychologist would recommend if she thinks it's not behavior related. I never thought of it being anything else because since he was 2, he's constantly had some type of compulsive behavior, it just shifts to a different type of behavior about once a year. Before the licking, it was positioning his stuffed animal. For about a year, every single time he put his bear down on a table or anywhere, he would position the head, left front leg, right front leg, right back leg, left back leg, then 3 twists of the tail. EVERY SINGLE time for about a year. Drove me nuts, but for some reason after a year when he stopped doing that the licking things started.

I did get that swimsuit last year. Actually like it quite a bit. Think my husband was even "nice" enough to post a picture of me in it on here at some point (to say the least I wasn't too thrilled he did that!).

Our daughter Jenna's birthday is today. She has turned the old age of 8. They sure do grow quickly! Seems like yesterday I was changing her diapers. We are giving her the Hannah Montana concert tickets tonight. Can't wait to see her and Kayla's expressions. They are going to FREAK out!!
Tell her Happy Bday from FL!

Michelle, I plan on sending two boxes. I don't think it should be a problem.

Here's the recipe.

Shrimp Tortellini and Spinach

1 pkg. (9 oz.) refrigerated cheese tortellini

1/4 cup Roasted Red Pepper Italian with Parmesan Dressing

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 can (14-1/2 oz.) diced tomatoes, undrained

1 lb. cooked cleaned medium shrimp

1 bag (6 oz.) baby spinach leaves

1/4 cup chopped fresh basil

2 Tbsp. Grated Parmesan Cheese

COOK tortellini in large (4-qt.) saucepan as directed on package. Drain in colander; set aside. Heat dressing in same pan on medium-high heat. Add garlic; cook 1 min. Add tomatoes and shrimp; mix well. Bring just to boil. Stir in spinach; cover. Simmer 1 to 2 min. or until spinach is wilted, stirring occasionally.

STIR in tortellini and basil; simmer, uncovered, 3 to 4 min. or until sauce is thickened, stirring occasionally.

SERVE topped with the cheese

Hmmm....not much to catch up on here tonight since I pretty much DIS'd all day at work! :rotfl2:

At the library now, but suppose I'll head home and go be a couch potato for a while before heading to sleep early. :thumbsup2

I4 is still closed and they found another body in a crumpled Mustang. The pictures and survivors stories are horrific.

something happened here-nit sure what but tons of sirens and lots of smoke down 41.

I've been to DL alot and WDW just once 20 years ago. So I can't really compare the two. I can tell you that I think since DL is the original, I think you should definately ride matterhorn (the line to the right, not the left it's better on the right) and It's a small world. Also, they just redid Space Mountain. My favorite ride is Big Thunder Mountain, so I always have to do that, but I did it in DLP and it was much better than DL so there you go. At California Adventure, I recommend eating at the boudin bakery. They have a soup/bread bowl...YUMMY! We always eat there. If they don't have California Screamin' (or something similiar) I'd do that. It's a roller coaster and it goes upside down. Also, on the Rapids in CA, you get wet....really wet..so be advised. As far as the parades go, the best spot IMHO is in fantasy land by the mad hatter and alice in wonderland or down on main street. The Best spot in CA for the Parade is up at the top by boudin. There's a large space up above the rapids before you enter the boardwalk area, plenty of seating and good views. I don't recommend being down by the golden gate brigde...it gets WAY too crowded there. Don't forget if your staying at the Grand or Paradise Pier, you can enter CA thru the Grand entrance, not at the front. Just bring your charge card for the hotel with you.

Hope that helps.
Steph

For all you DL experts. I have read a sticky on the DL forum about the differences in the rides at WDW and DL. Now we are going at a busy time of course, and we don't need to go on all the rides as we will be back at WDW in December, but of course we would like to try and ride the unique ones and those that are different. What do you recommend?

I think we will be doing a lot of walking around just enjoying being there, and of course spending time in queues!!

Do you have favourite parade and firework spots? What about eating? I'm thinking we won't want a thing on disembarkation day - in fact if the last cruise is anything to go by John won't eat much for quite a few days!!!:lmao:

We fly home on the 28th May at 6.30, so I am not sure whether to get 3 or 4 day passes. Sunday and Monday are going to be busy aren't they, so may give Sunday a miss as we would be getting to the park lateish.

Still catching up, but wanted to cast my vote(s) here.

You need to ride the Matterhorn and Indiana Jones, as they are not at WDW. You should also ride Pirates and Haunted Mansion as they are different than WDW (Also Buzz Lightyear at California Adventure).

Love eating at Storytellers Cafe in the Grand Calif Hotel...any meal...breakfast, lunch, dinner. Also at Downtown Disney I like Catal and the Jazz Kitchen...both yummy. If you want a fine dining ($$$) experience, Napa Rose at the Grand Californian is A+. Some folks will probably suggest Blue Bayou inside DL (overlooks the Pirates ride). I didn't have a good experience either time there however.

.....back to ketchup.....

QUESTION ON SENDING BOXES AHEAD OF TIME...

How many have you been able to send? It's just me and mom, but I was wondering with the Fish extenders, and other things going on, that I may have to send 2... Anyone ever have to send that many and have you had any problems?

What's the best way to send them? I was thinking UPS or Fed Ex where I know I can check for tracking...

If you send multiple boxes, be sure to mark them '1 of 2', '2 of 2' etc. I used UPS the last time (I think), either one is fine.

I try to only send down things I WON'T be bringing back...just because return shipping was problematical for my circumstances (going straight to MCO). Cheri (NotSoLittleMermaid) and I are DRIVING home at the end of this trip because we think we'll have so much stuff to schlep back! Which reminds me, I'd better give that chickie a call...she should be back from her Disneyland adventure...

.....more ketchup....

Buzz is in disneyland. I too, don't like the blue bayou. Too expensive not worth it! IMHO.

BTW...I called discover just to verify. It's a total of $800. I was hoping I could charge and then pay and then charge again, but alas...not the deal~! oh well....
cya

Oh man, I forogot to mention Calif Screaming and Grizzley River in CalAdventure. LOVE those too!

(duh, of course Buzz is in DL...lord knows what I was thinking).

I PROMISED myself I'd be out of here at 6:30....20 minutes left to check the rest of the DISboards.

...later kids...

I must have missed something.:confused3

I know it has been a long time since I have been on the boards and you probably think we have canceled our trip. This is not so. I am afraid that I have been dealing with a pretty bad case of depression and have not been up to doing much of anything. I just wanted everyone to know that I am getting it under control and hope to be back to my old self before long. I want those that have stated interest in Fish Extenders to know that I will be starting to sew again very soon and have not forgotten them if they want one. Hopefully I can get myself to sit down at the sewing machine in the next couple of weeks.

To those on my Fish Extender committee I have not forgotten that either if it is still being done. I will try and get some information together soon.

I haven't even felt like reading the boards and after finding out all the pages I have missed I will not be trying to get caught up but will try and stay caught up from now on. If I have missed anything of importance I hope that someone will PM me and let me know.

Carol

I'm sorry to hear that you have not been feeling well and hope that you will feel better soon. Don't worry about catching up as it is impossible. If anything important has been posted I am sure that it will be posted again. Just take care of yourself so you can enjoy the cruise!

Carol, so glad to see you back here! Don't worry about catching up....just jump right back in.

I haven't touched my crafts in the past year, but decorating the fish extender you made is getting me back in the crafting swing! I've nearly got all my materials together and will be ready to 'build' it soon :thumbsup2

Laptop update....DBil can't help...looks like I have to call Geeks and drop about $200. Mulling this over......

YIKES...time to go home

Martha/sourmug wrote this to me in a PM and I thought I would share it with everyone:

Deb,
I would be glad to head up the secret mickey program.
Each person sends in their willingness to participate with their favorite Disney Character, color and a little about themselves.
Then they give 6 different gifts ~ $10 over a 10 day period . Then we have a meet and greet to identify who ourselves to our secret Mickey.
It was so much fun over the 11 day cruise for me.
Do we have people who would like to participate?
m

If you would like to participate, please PM sourmug. Also PJ could you put it up on the website in case people don't read all the posts here.

Thanks!

This sounds great!!!

When the preliminary master list is done, we'll still have 3 months before we cruise. How are we going to know if somebody else cancels if they don't tell us? I'm not going to PM everyone on the posted list again....once was enough. I guess we just won't know unless they let us know, but most of them don't.....they just disappear.

Oh well!

Maybe a few people we know are going can take a few names of low posters each an pm them. :confused3

That's a problem that I haven't even started thinking about. I guess I'll have to order all new clothes and then just pack them directly into the suitcase when they arrive. Out with the old, in with the new. I'll send all the old to goodwill.

I will have to budget for a new wardrobe though.:lovestruc
Congrats on getting new clothes!!! However be careful of taking stuff to goodwill. Ours around here throw the things in dumpsters and pour water over them b/c they don't want to go through them. We now call Habitat for Humanity as they take anything. I dontated 3 bags of my clothes to the Red Cross when the apartments where we lived burned down.
