No, I had to cancel cable and internet to cut costs. But I don't think I'll last much longer without it because now I'm not able to look for jobs online or research fun things to do on the weekends, etc. And the learning program Tyler's Kindergarten uses is on the internet, so he's not able to practice there.

Probably after my next payday I'll get internet again, but I'm trying to think of the cheapest way. I can't use dial-up internet because I don't have a home phone since I only use cell phone to eliminate having 2 phone bills. I don't want to re-connect the cable internet because then I have to have the cable tv service, which I don't want because we don't watch enough tv to be worth the expense. Everything we watch is on local channels that I can get for free. My friend hooks her cell phone up to her computer and gets online that way, but I'm not sure how. Yes, I can access the internet on my cell phone, but I want to do it on my computer.

This might sound simple, but I'm very technologically challenged! :rotfl2:

I'm so happy you decided to do this.....I missed not having you on here as much. I know you didn't go away, but it just wasn't the same without you here all the time....meaning, I knew that you would be on every night and would find myself looking for your posts. When that went away I knew I would have to wait a day or so to see your next posts.....I know it's very selfish of me, but I just missed you. I'm so glad you're back to normal posting soon. YEA!

WOOHOO! The IRS says my tax return will be deposited into my savings account on JANUARY 25!!!!!!!!!!! Looks like I'll be paying off this cruise WAY sooner than I'd anticipated!
:dancer: :dancer: :dancer:

YEA!!!! You're in the money......You're in the money......YEA!!! This means that you'll get to pay in full on time or early so that you can process all your excursions, spas, palos, etc., anything that you might be planning on doing. YEA!

Lisa,

1st off, queen of the multi quote, wow! My hero!

They would show the divers in the intro on Love boat and then in clips to show where they were, every once in a while. Those divers were a large part of my cruising reference before I went on DCL the first time.

I think that the EB repo in 2005 had a DIS meet listed in the Navigator, as long as it is not on the first day, I think they can add it in, don't know whom we should contact for that, Guest Services I think.

Pj

Linda/Seaulater is going to put it in the mini navigator and is going to make sure that everyone gets one! All we have to do is look in it to see where and when it was set up for. I guess it wouldn't hurt to put it in both navigators, but how necessary do you think it would be to do so?

I know this is old news but before I got off the boards there was a MAC debate going on. I just wanted to let the MAC users know that there are now two new converted PC users. My DH now has an IMAC and a MAC Book and I have a MAC Book Pro. We love them and at least mine will be coming on the cruise with us since I will be Blogging the trip for my friends.

Carol

Yay! Another Convert!

Been a busy week at work, and a busy weekend.

Have just a few minutes to catch up a bit. We are going to HS Musical on Ice tonight, and Sophia does not know it yet. I am waiting for her to get home from going roller skating with a friend, give her a shower, and when Amy gets home we are off to Cleveland for the show.

Great weather here today - 40 and sunny! Just great to see the sun!

John,

Get a video of when you tell her, lol.

HSM on ice!!! What fun!!

We just got in from the pool. John is still at work and is going to pick up wings on his way home....I have the Tigger Tail Fries cooking (curly fries).....so great healthy dinner tonight! Got a pork roast to throw in the crockpot for shredded pork sammies tomorrow. I don't know how many of you are familiar with Publix bread, but OH....they have the best bread. So I got the French rolls for the sandwiches...and then their hot dog buns looked heavenly....I know, how can hot dog buns look heavenly? They just did....so I had to get hot dogs as well.

The girls are worn out I think..we've been swimming and playing and running around this afternoon. They are about to fall asleep on the couch.....good news, the Gators won their second SEC game! Go Gators!

Will PM you with the school, wish my school had a great anything. It's so small that it's all about what you make of it. I'm on the extra slow track to finishing, trying to decided on my dissertation now, but the statistics are slowing me down.

The dissertation decision is hard. It actually took me a year and a half to write and then defend. Mine is in Forensic Psychology and the detection of deception during interrogations. Actually ended up being pretty interesting, just took forever.

I taught Statistics for four years at Oregon as a GTF.

Hats off to Monica and Sammi for doing such a noble deed with their hair cuts!

Where is Noel and Ginamarie....we lost them both around christmas when noel went on a NYE cruise and Ginamarie fell off the face of the boards.

Looking forward to both of them returning.

anyone got exciting plans for the weekend? Nothing here...the usual - cleaning. Seems our 80 degree weather will be getting a bit cooler. The girls - and John all went in the pool last night, while I sat poolside finishing the Pact. Not sure if we'll be able to do that tonight!

I spent most of the day while Sophia was gone doing laundry and cleaning. The fish tank looked like the Nemo tank when the filter went off! Nice and clean now. Just got Sophia out of the shower, and waiting on Amy.

Sailaway is the one thing we NEVER miss. :woohoo: :dance3:

Us too! We LOVE it!

We bring our Mickey gloves to wave at the CM's at the terminal as we pull away. I love waiting until we clear the channel and head out into the open ocean. Just thinking about it gives me chills!

Have a great weekend everyone! We are getting ready to head out skiing for the weekend. I'd rather be sitting on a beach somewhere but sitting in the lodge on Saturday watching the game will certainly be a lot of fun! GO HAWKS!!!!!!!! (and Go Giants!!!!!)

Yeah, that would be very cool. Have a great time Kaylee!

Thanks for that Michelle.....and let's hope you get some good news next week and can lock it in!

My Mom could take the photo for us with my Dslr that way we have a copy in case the one from Shutters doesn't come out or the photographer is late or no shows or something.

A rain date would be wise maybe if the 1st sea day rains we could do it the 2nd?

That's who took ours. Then we just went to Shutters and asked for it. When they ran out they printed more. They put a caption on it too with the Cruise dates, Western double dip and our group name so they would probably put Ship of thieves on ours along with the dates and Westbound PC Repo.

When I call on Monday I will ask lots of questions... I also thought that maybe it might be good to have an indoor place to have it just in case... how about one of the theaters???

I'll ask about Mickey too... & the navigators...

Are they bedazzled?
...not yet...:thumbsup2

I've bought the single use Tide in the box at our Safeway. We had no trouble flying with them in our checked luggage. I am thinking about shipping the All down with a few other things to our hotel. I would send the box to the port, but have seen Shirley's post about the restrictions concerning liquids to the port.

I wonder which is better...sending the boxes to the hotel or the ship... will they give you a problem at check in if you show up with an extra box or two?

I like the idea of all matching and don't object at all.. a few little comments.
1) For our family reunion, each family had there own matching outfits. That way you could tell who was with who, and each family got matching outfits that they felt comfortable in. Just a thought...I know lime green is our DIS color...
2) I thought I recalled (maybe it was Noel) someone who said they got Mickey to join their DIS photo. They did it in the Atrium, and it was a really big crowd. It might have been the 2005 repo cruise. Anyone remember that? The photo looked pretty cool.
3) Maybe we can arrange two photos, that way if someone misses the first, they could make the second or vice versa. If we did it later in the cruise, we could put a notice in the navigator to remind people.

1) Like I've said before, I really don't think it matters what you wear. I think if you want your family to match or if other families want to match, that's fine. I think it would be too hard to get every family to match. For the most part everyone will wear a lime green dis colored shirt. If they don't, that's ok too. Let me just emphasize that this is only my opinion.....others may feel differently and we welcome their input.

2) It would be so great to have Mickey in our photo with us. I don't know how to make this happen, maybe someone could ask Guest Services onboard.

3) If you all want to have two photos we can have two photos, personally I don't think this is a good idea. I think it will get confusing and I only want to put one photo in a frame.....if we have two, then I would have to pick. Why don't we just pick a place and time and whoever shows up gets a picture taken. Whoever does not show up, won't get their picture taken. I think we can easily make this complicated, but should try not to. We should try to keep it simple.

If it were up to me, my vote would be to take one photo at one time and put it in one navigator. I think that's enough. If it gets too complicated, people will get too confused.

Instead of having a second rain date, I think if it's raining, we take the photo inside.....keep it simple!

The other thing I think that we need to do is ask for a volunteer, maybe LisaG, to take over the planning and processing of taking the photo. We should have one person to contact and coordinate the effort. Then everyone else just has to show up. Any Volunteers?

I'll call and get the initial info and a name if possible of who to contact and then we can go from there...

How many people are we up to for this cruise by the way???

Deb, I was thinking the same.

One Time, photo happens then no matter what.

But, a 1st choice spot and a rain/wind spot, which would only apply if it was raining/way too windy (and have a person posted to re-direct people.)

So as to not miss people the shot, if taken in a rain/wind spot, would not happen until the re-direction person arrived.

Thanks for doing this Michelle, what a relief.....I think it needs someone to take the lead. I nominate you Chief Photo Coordinator! Sounds good!
