Sorry for jumping in, but we will also be staying at the Raddison on the 9th. Do You have room for 2 more adults and two kids for dinner @ Grills? Would love to have a chance to meet everyone before the cruise.

The more the merrier!!

The teacher told me K today is about what 1st or 2nd grade was for us. To pass, they have to write a paragraph story, be able to read a simple book, add & subtract, and much more. They have science class and computer class, and lots more. They do a writing workshop a few times a week where they have to write a sentence or two and draw the pictures to go with it. He can't even write all his letters yet. He knows them, but that's all. BUT today he did bring me a paper on which he had written the word "NO" and told me he was going to tape it to his bedroom door so people would stay out! :lmao: Well, that's a start! :rotfl2:

WOW!

Well I guess I need to be impressed with th girls school....they teach them to wrote the alphabelt early on ---- but when I went to K - we played!!!! What happened to that?
Samantha has pc's in her class and she knows how to use them!

Not funny - but funny, there are quite a few older than her working on potty training. I guess if they go and make it to the potty Haley is standing outside the door yelling "X, went whatever --- clap everyone!":rotfl:
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I meant to comment on this before.....TOO FUNNY!

is reading and writing a requirement of K? I kind of wish our local schools would list requirements.

Samantha can write and spell her name, haley's, mine and John's (along with Mom and Dad) we work on phonics alot - she does not know how to scale her name down to size....it starts small and goes HUGE. Haley can tell you all the first letters of everyone in her class. She is no where near where Samantha was at that age. But everyone is different and she is the social one and the helper of her class. All the kids and teachers love her to death. V:

In CA we have state standards by grade. You should be able to look them up, trying google kinder state ed standards.

Our kids did both read and write in Kinder, because of our school in English and Spanish both.

OH - drama lamas last night....

FINALLY some action from the Hooter Girls and Lifeguards nextdoor.....
well, if the LG wants to save me from drowning that would have been all I needed.....

ANYWAY

around 1 am....some voices were coming through our window loud and clear....Johnny looks up and itty bitty girl has huge suitcase squishing it into her sports car...not working. Lifeguard is APOLOGIZING profusely...we as nosey neighbors listeneing through the window don't know what for.....she finally gives in and goes back in the house.

what can I say excitement on Laramie!

The more the merrier!!

Lisa, should we start a list yet? I think I'm listed out so I vote for you to do it if you want. I know we are upwards of 20 something people now coming. Let me know if you want to be PM'd. I'll understand if you can't do it and we will get a volunteer that will be able to do it. Let me know.

How are you and Darrell feeling? Hopefully better.

When I tried it, I was taken to the last post on the thread, not the last post I had read. Did I do something wrong? (Glad I had left the thread open in another window. You guys were CHATTY this afternoon.)

Jan :earsgirl:

HHHMMM. Don't know. The little blue check that is on the LEFT side of the thread name?? :confused3

I think a list is good - I'll volunteer but not do anything until after final payments are made. Everyone will have nothing to do once excursions are booked so this will give us something.

I feel like a new person - well one who occassionally has a coughing fit but otherwise good.

Darrell is - in his words "DYING!!!!" He ended up with sinus/head/ear congestion in addition to the cough. So he actually got it much worse than I did.

Deb - how is the no smoking coming?

Three weeks today V.....and I had a very frustrating and stressful day.....I sooooooooo wanted a cigarette. I almost called Angie to tell her that I was going to the store on the corner. But I didn't go out and buy them so I didn't smoke. I just dealt with it. I'm still dealing with it tonight, but not as bad as earlier. I guess that's a good thing.

I'm at a place where I can't eat what I want, I can't smoke and I want to and recently I added the additional burden of being financially responsible for Ray and it's costing me an additional $1k/month......so I don't have extra money to spend like I used to........no eating, smoking, shopping.....all at the same time is very frustrating and stressful and it really hit me today and I just wanted a cigarette to destress over it all. As if that would make everything alright again. I know initially it would, but in the long term, it would not.

Thanks for asking V....I bet you didn't expect such a saga response.

Angie, any advice to make me stay honest throughout the day tomorrow too? I may be calling you soon.

For us it would probably be easier to go to DTD and then a bus to the GF. In December, Amy, Sophia and I did the hotel tour from BCV to see the lobbies and the trees, etc. . Man, were we gone a LONG time using bus transportation. We are not newbies, and know our way around . . . took the monorail from Epcot to the TTC, walked to the Poly, monorail to GF, monorail to CR, bus to DTD, bus back to BCV. Took us the whole night just to do those three hotels.

The floor is still open for suggestions - I know we will want to be back to our room for our overnight stay with our Geek buddies too - we have 11 of us in a Grand Villa, and hopefully Dr. Hug and Angie nearby.

Not me, never heard it. Honest!

Night all, I need to turn in.

I agree that DTD is the easiest for all to get to. WGP sounds good to us.

It should take you to the first new post since you were last here.

But as someone mentioned earlier, if you log on and go to the thread, the DIS assumes you will read all of the new posts during your session. Say you didn't have time to get all caught up. When you return at a later time and log on the DIS will take you to the first post since the last time you logged out. It doesn't know you didn't actually get thru all the posts the last time you visited. I don't know if I did a very good job of explaining that. :confused3

That's it exactly - it takes you to the first new post since you were last here - not where you may have left off reading.
