I will admit to been spoiled living her in Northern, CA.;) I pretty much know that by tomorrow it will not be raining. So, I will just wait until then.

I have done my share of loading and unloading of the groceries in bad weather! I have lived in Oregon & Washington for most of my life. I have seen my share of rainy days! We also spent 2 years in Connecticut and have experienced the thunderstorms and snow. Plus all the fun that comes with snow: gloves, hats, boots, heavy coats, shoveling the walkway, plow service, power outages. :headache: The day the moving truck came to move us from CT to CA, it started to snow!! I was the first week of April!! I had to call the plow sevice to clear the driveway for the movers. We arrived in CA where it was sunny and warm !! :dance3:

I try to enjoy every moment here.:cheer2: :cheer2: I never know when DH's work will ask us to move again.

What do I need to order and pay for and by when?

Wristbands...check.

Fish Extenders...check.

What else are we doing as a group? Lanyards? I'm so "out of the loop":confused3

Sorry to bring up a sad subject, but my good friend just got diagnosised with non-hodgkins lymphoma on Friday. I found out yesterday, and just got off the phone with her sister. She is undergoing some more tests today - bone marrow, scans, etc. She went to the doctor on Friday because she had some swelling in her face - she thought it was allergies. She is 37, a high school teacher, and has a 3 year old DD. I was in her wedding - I set up her and her husband. There were friends forever, but I saw this spark and became a match maker one St. Patrick evening in SF. Anyway, the doctor on Friday sent her straight to the hospital after her blood results came back. She has already had a treatment of chemo. The tumor is blocking (80%) the artery to her heart and has caused tremendous swelling. She doesn't want visitors today - asked that I come tomorrow. I imagine she is somewhat in shock - it has all happened so fast.

Agg. Life just turns sometimes. I have been saying prayers for all those that have mentioned things on the board, can't believe I'm sending the request now.
Thanks for listening.
Lisa

Lisa,

Lisa...do you know if Storyteller's can accomodate 20 people in a reservation? Is there a private room?? When we met there last summer, we had nine and it seemed like that was asking a lot for the table.

Just wondering...only been there the one time...totally NOT an expert:). (And...wasn't the coordinator-person for that one, Jackie was!)

Thanks - I haven't read and caught up since after the Oscars but wanted to post real quick to see if anyone has heard of a treatment called R-CHOP. It is a mix of chemo. I just got back from visiting my friend. She was somewhat hysterical as the doctor just told her she couldn't have any more children after the chemo treatments. I have known people who have had cancer and were still able to have children, so not sure if it is specific to this treatment? I'm a nurse, so they all look at me for answers (which I don't have). I have an email out to my baby cousin who is no longer a baby but an a MD oncologist. But not sure I will be able to touch base with him before seeing her again tonight.

Any feedback on that treatment would be appreciated.

Now, back to the cruise fun talk please!! Lisa

we'll be there the next week 5/27/07-5/29/07...I just realized that's only 2 nights and 3 days, clearly not enough time to enjoy the park, oh well better than nothing (yes we just went last week for 4 days I remember)

DH handed me the VISA and said book the flights I'm not driving it again so soon...we got the $49 special on SWA (which ends up being the $119 flight round trip with taxes etc...)

anyone else want to come over on Monday (memorial day) with the hoards and play...:lmao:

We are planning this trip to be a reunion of our Xmas '05 DCL Diser group.

Next time a mini-meet comes up here, I'll join ya.

Carolyn-that's a good question! Someone suggested Storyteller's and I just ran with it. I've never actually been to Storyteller's, so I have no idea. Does anyone else have a better suggestion? I could always ask Disney when I call to make the ressie. Or we can go to one of the restaurants in DD?

Thanks - I haven't read and caught up since after the Oscars but wanted to post real quick to see if anyone has heard of a treatment called R-CHOP. Lisa

http://www.cancerbackup.org.uk/Treatments/Chemotherapy/Combinationregimen/CHOP

R-CHOP is named after the chemotherapy drugs used in the treatment. It involves the monoclonal antibody rituximab (pronounced ri-tucks-i-mab), and the drugs: cyclophosphamide (sigh-clo-fos-fa-mide), doxorubicin (docks-o-rou-bi-sin, originally called Adriamycin®), vincristine (vin-chris-teen, originally known as Oncovin®) and prednisolone (pred-ni-so-lone), which is a steroid.

CHOP uses the same chemotherapy drugs as R-CHOP, but without the rituximab. Chemotherapy is the use of anti-cancer (cytotoxic) drugs to destroy cancer cells.

Rituximab
Rituximab (Mabthera®) belongs to a group of drugs known as monoclonal antibodies. It is used to treat several different types of B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

Monoclonal antibodies are used to try to destroy some types of cancer cells, while causing little harm to normal cells. They are designed to recognise certain proteins that are found on the surface of some cancer cells. The monoclonal antibody recognises the protein and locks onto it (like a key in a lock). This may then trigger the body’s immune system to attack the cancer cells and can sometimes make the cells destroy themselves.

Rituximab locks onto a protein called CD20, which is found on the surface of one of the main types of normal white blood cells (B-cell lymphocytes). It is also present on the surface of most of the abnormal B-cell lymphocytes that occur in some types of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Rituximab acts by attacking both abnormal (malignant) and normal B-cell lymphocytes. The body can however, replace any normal white blood cells that are damaged quite quickly.

Does anyone know what kind of shore excursions we can expect on this cruise?

I agree that when you call Disney to make the ressie, they should be able to let you know if Storytellers accomodates 20 easily or if there is a better place for 20 to meet.

We might be at more than one table, but they should be able to put us all together in one area.

That's what I was thinking. I'll call them in a few days...I wanted to give everyone the chance to PM me first. I'll keep ya all posted!

It's very quiet on here so far today!....feel like I'm talking to myself....:rolleyes1

That's how I usually feel from midnight till around 1:00 amish when you wonderful UKers awaken! The last few days were so action packed that I went to bed a bit earlier than usual. I'll try to be up to say good morning today (I mean tonight, er tomorrow... )

Either of them or both Noel!! Seems we have some photos on one but not the other, and many people I see posting regularly but haven't put a photo on. I realise some people may not be able to - I can only post from one lot of photos I had on disk and could put in Photobucket. I have a few years' of photos inside memory cards or on John's computer and I have no idea at all how to do anything with them let alone print any!! I used to have loads of photos of my grandchildren, but they just never get printed now!:confused3 I am so technically challenged!

This is why I still use film, yes film! I finish a roll, take it in, and waalaa, I have pictures to actually "give" to people and put in my scrapbooks!! I also get a cd made of them at the time of developing and I can still email them to people. The best of both worlds!

We still have a bazillion photos from the 2005 EB Repo on memory sticks from my husbands digital camera. He's not sure where they are, and he never deletes as he goes, so there are tons of missing memories!! The shame, the horror!!
