I like the pace of this thread compared to the EB thread, I don't think I would post at all, just trying to catch up would take hours.

Corrine-the EB thread would absolutely put me under! I have enough trouble keeping up with our thread! Like I said, I really enjoy reading what everyone on our thread has to say, and I'm so glad we're not at the EB pace! How do they find the time?!

I thought it would be fun to have a bush dancing class on a sea day, since we have so many of them!
So how about it, anyone interested in learning to dance like the Aussies do???

Hi Jolene! This sounds like so much fun! what a great idea!!!! :thumbsup2

Hi All,

Here are the pictures of the Fish Extenders we are making for this WBREPO cruise.

This is the way you will receive them so there is lots of room to personalize them.

thanks!!!!!

Ok gang! It appears there are some folks who'll be at DLR at the third week of May. Cheri-I think you said you'd be there 5/21 and 5/22 and Angie and Dennis will be there 5/19 - 5/27.

So I was thinking that would be a good time to have a DIS Meet for those who can make it. I would suggest somewhere in Downtown Disney (someone suggested Storyteller's which is great) as opposed to in the parks--that way those who don't have passes won't have to spend a fortune if they don't want to go into the the parks.

How does 5/21 or 5/22 in the evening look? PM me if you're interested and indicate your day preference. And for those who are wondering/interested, I'll still plan on a Temecula Winery DISMeet as well, I just thought I'd take advantage of the fact that some DISers will already be at DL in May.

Let's get this DISMeets ball rolling!!! :thumbsup2

and meet in the middle. It is especially fun after you have had a few drinks, then the creativity flows!

Me!!! May need help with talking DH into it. Maybe I'll just fail to mention it and be sure to "treat" him to several DODs beforehand. By the time dance class comes along, he may just think it's his own idea!

::yes:: I'm using today (Ash Wednesday) as my reason/incentive to 'give up' some bad eating patterns. No fried food and sugar, no skipping breakfast. Adding in water, veggies, fruit and activity. I'm up for a 'challenge' :thumbsup2 A Monday check in sounds good to me.

Sounds like a great plan, J!!!

Carolyn

OK - on the last cruise I tried to do something that fell apart - maybe there was not enough time . . . I came up with a spreadsheet for percentage of weight loss, and we had a "challenge" to see who could lose the most percentage of weight (that way no one is embarrassed by how much they weigh). I was going to give awards and everything, and post weekly results, but it fell apart . . . anyone interested?

Interested, yes. Not really up for the percent challenge, but Jackie's Scoop Away the Pounds thread from our double dip REALLY helped me keep myself honest. I'm terribly OCD with the scale and it's retired right now. I will dust it off and use it, if somehow I can keep from checking it as often as I check the DISboards!

I've arranged for group photos on the last 4 or 5 cruises we have been on. Here's the picture of our group on Pirate night during the 2005 PC cruise I arranged. If you would like me to take care of that for this cruise, I would be happy to do so.

I would love to have a photo like the on you did on the 2005 PC cruise.

I think a few of us (me unspoken until now) have talked about getting back into shape, or into shape. Maybe we can have a little sub-talk within this talk to help support each other? Maybe a Monday call - a report on how we have done the past week with eating healthy, exercise, etc. Monday might be a good day as I know I always have the hardest time over the week-end. If I know I have to "give a report" maybe it will help me keep on track! After all, with 14 months to go, we can all be in excellent shape for the cruise!
Lisa

*lurk mode off* :goodvibes

My sister and I have a bet that if we can get our weight into the "normal" range we are going on this very "MAGIC"-al cruise. I know we can do it so I booked us a nice cat 5 cabin   . I would love to join in on the Monday check-in!

Hello! This cruise is going to have a lighter weight load when we have all lost some!!!

I am up for a weight loss challenge...! I really need something to get me motivated. I am a lifetime WW member who is 29 pounds away from my goal weight. WOW! How awful! And in reality my weight gain has completely changed how I am around people and how I feel about myself...:( But I will be back to being V skinny before May 2008....! (I hope!)

Lisa I am going to 'rejoin' Weight Watchers today! I lost a lot of weight a few years ago but quit and, of course, gained it all back! :headache: I am in for the Monday roll call. Good idea!

Great - I'm thinking of the best way to have the reporting. Maybe like the biggest loser show where people can just report the percentage they have lost. That way, if anyone is share about listing actual weights, you can still participate. More later! Lisa

I have not been on much but wanted to say HI! Just been busy as mom. I saw that there was discussion about lanyards, bracelets, leis and mickey heads. Does anyone know who I contact right off hand about each thing. I looked on the websites but did not see it. Probably just me. I will go back and look but if anyone knows real quick please let me know.

I joined Curves almost 2 years ago and I think the getting weighed and measured once month - plus seeing it on a nice little graph helps keep me on track. I can tell myself what I want but seeing it in black and white helps to keep me on the dies more. 43 pounds lost, as of yesterday, and hopefully still counting.

That is so great! Good work! Lisa

I joined WW back in Oct. I had tried many times on my own with no success. I have done well. I'm down 33 lbs. I do find that attending weekly meetings and knowing I have a weigh in is a great motivator. DH is also doing program with me, but does not attend meetings. I actually look forward to my weekly meeting.

Venetia

Congrats on the 33 pounds! That is awesome. I lost some after my 4th boy (in preparation for my 20th high school reunion!) but still have a ways to go. I'm looking forward to having a weekly check-in! Lisa

I want to order magnets and bracelets and all that stuff! I have to get caught up so I can start PMing for things. My life has been insane over the last couple of weeks, and I’m hoping things will slow down this weekend/next week.

John- I’m having a hard time keeping up with the thread too. I think the fact that we have so many people from the Pacific time zone does contribute to it. Usually I’m a nite owl, but on this thread, things go on a long time after I go to bed.

Kimerinc- I guarantee to be bawling on the morning we get off of the ship. Our first time on the Magic was for my honeymoon. On our last morning I had the tears and everything; I just did not want to leave. We were exhausted, but made sure not to miss breakfast and our last meal with our waitstaff. All this was before I knew anything about this forum. Since I started posting here, I’ve made some wonderful friends. Being a working mom, I get no time in real life for friend activities, but many of the people I’ve met on Disboards have become some of my best friends. I hope that over the next 14-15 months we feel that way about each other on this thread too.
Oh gosh, I feel so sappy now!!!

txSleepingBeauty- I’d LOVE to see an Indiana Jones PreMEAR! I just think Indie is so sexy!

Holly- You and I must have some of the same experiences. I share office space with my Grandfather and we’re both attorneys. These days he only handles a couple of cases, but he can’t remember what’s going on with each case. Sometimes it’s funny, but sometimes it drives me CRAZY!

Laura- Sorry about the bad day. I hope Alaska doesn’t fall through! It sounds like you really need a vacation.

I’m also trying to lose weight this year. My weight story goes like this—I was in decent shape until I had a miscarriage in 2004. The whole situation was devastating to me, and I took solace in food. That winter I gained a lot of weight (between 20-30 pounds), and even though I wanted to lose it, I couldn’t find the motivation. Fast-forward to July 2005, where I’m about 35 pounds overweight, unhappy and look awful. It’s a dangerous spiral when you start gaining sometimes. You’re miserable so you eat. Eating makes you fatter, and then you’re miserable because you’re fat—over and over again. That summer, I became pregnant with DD. Pretty much the next 7-8 months I had morning sickness! Food was not appealing, and I was forcing myself to eat things for the baby. It forced me into some better eating habits. By the time DD was born, I was actually in much better shape than I was before I got pregnant, and 25 pounds lighter. BUT, I still need to lose another ten pounds in order to feel healthy and at peace with my weight. I have a family history of diabetes and high blood pressure, so there’s even more incentive to try to eat right and get some exercise to stay healthy.. but gosh darnit I still love food!!

OK, I finally caught up on the last ten pages and now I need to get back to work!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU! I'm not sure how much longer I can keep this cruise a secret from my boys. Hiding this beauty will be tough! Lisa
