Yesterday (Mon.) it was rainy and snowy--I had a couple of inches on my car this morning, but there was none on the ground--it had already melted. Most of the day it was cloudy & cool, just the way I like it! I'm sure the folks in the midwest are scratching their heads over that one! Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny, high 50s, Thurs. the same and then on Fri. we get your storm, hopefully. Just so it's not raining on Sunday--I'm having my annual Academy Awards party, complete with 25' red carpet (red felt) leading up to the front door!

Funny about your folks coming to AZ for warmth and getting the cold! The last time I went to SF it was in early Oct (about 3 years ago). I was totally fed up with heat (by Sept. I'm usually at the end of my rope) and was looking forward to some cool, foggy weather. I didn't realize that Oct. is one of the warmest months up there! I'd always gone to SF in the summer ("The coldest winter I've ever spent is a summer in San Francisco"). So I totally took the wrong clothes and was hot the whole time!

We had friends from Florida visit in July and they almost froze!! We took them shopping for sweatshirts and long pants, they only brought shorts with them!

We have a house in Bodega Bay, on the coast north of SF, and the 2 best months up there are March and October. It has been rainy in March lately, so that may have to be moved to February. Just stellar weather. 70ish and sunny, my favorite!! Of course, it's gorgeous up there ALL of the time. The storms up there are amazing! The views are great even in the fog!! lol

Looks like you are another rain, mild weather person in a warm climate! I can relate when we have weeks of weather in the 90's and 100's!!

Hope you have a great time on Sunday!! My sister and I hash over all of the movies prior to the show and then recap afterword, but other than that it's just me and DD and DH watching the stars.

Let's see--Me: 35 years experience as a first grade teacher and elem. school reading specialist, retired about a year... A ship full of kids cutting school ... parents facing homework and conducting ship-board school...

I could probably get about $350 an hour, especially toward the last few days when those homework packets are hardly touched! Wait, maybe $450...

Generally find that a Master or Vise card works best. That way you get the current exchange rate when the statement comes. Sometimes you win and sometimes you loose a little but over all it works best for most of the bigger stores. Street vendors are another subject because they are not equiped to handle charge cards. Most will gladly accept US$ but never agree to the first price they ask for an item and most will claim they are unable to give any change so make sure you have lots of $1.00 bills.

Me, I just really enjoy meeting people and hearing about their lives. I find it so interesting. I also feel much safer here than other places on the internet because of the common love of Disney, which for the most part, brings people together who are more family oriented like me.

Hi All,

I have been having the day from h&**...my Alaska cruise may be falling apart and I will not know for sure until tomorrow. My car spent the weekend and then today at the dealership and work is about to drive me around the bend. I got home a little while ago and all I want to do is have a drink some chocolate and go to bed. Tomorrow will not be better in the morning, but hopefully I can regroup and get back on track tomorrow...

Thanks. It is the best of the 2 we had taken on our Nov holiday. It is at the GFC. The other one was taken at Le Chefs on our first evening and I felt, and looked bloated!!! Other than that it is a nice photo. It is one of those pics though that made me determined to lose the weight and tone up!!

Is anyone else going to have a hard time keeping track of everything they get/have/order for this cruise for the next 14 months??? I'm lucky I remember my head most mornings (and that's attached!).

Did you hit the mail on the head for me on this one. Fish extenders, leis, boas, bracelets, scrapbooking, Bunko, and Skipbo. What else am I forgetting? Not to mention who is coordinating what and what have I commited to? Maybe I should be commited. Don't answer that PlutoBrat!!!!

I think a few of us (me unspoken until now) have talked about getting back into shape, or into shape. Maybe we can have a little sub-talk within this talk to help support each other? Maybe a Monday call - a report on how we have done the past week with eating healthy, exercise, etc. Monday might be a good day as I know I always have the hardest time over the week-end. If I know I have to "give a report" maybe it will help me keep on track! After all, with 14 months to go, we can all be in excellent shape for the cruise!

Lisa I am going to 'rejoin' Weight Watchers today! I lost a lot of weight a few years ago but quit and, of course, gained it all back! I am in for the Monday roll call. Good idea!

Ah....a girl after my own heart. Academy Awards day is my "SuperBowl Sunday". Special foods purchased and, phone off (except when sister Peg is not with me...we need to call each other during commercial breaks!). The AMC theaters here are showing all five nominated movies on Saturday...now I've done a triple feature day before, but five in one day would be something!
