Good afternoon everyone. I hope the weather has improved for all you in the winter storm areas. Would love to see some pictures.

How beneficial is it to be Castaway Club members when you go on a cruise? Is the stateroom gift worth it? :lmao: Sorry, but I am clutching at straws finding ways to make taking another short cruise in early December, when we are in Orlando, to be the best thing ever to John!!! I will have to make it sound cheaper than staying in Orlando and with the added benefits next year!! Just building up my case!!

Morning!

Count us in for laynards please! We would need 4.

Bunco, how hard is this to learn? Never played but would be interested.

Formal - we'll be renting a tux for DH and the girls will have plenty of princess dresses and formal dresses to wear...we like getting dressed up. Hopefully I can drop some weight by then and feel comfortable in my dress up clothes!

I love 'dressing up'! It's part of why we love cruising:) Dh will be getting some wear out of his tux and I have a great dress I bought in the States in December for our meal at Victoria & Alberts. Of course I may have to buy more too as its such a long cruise....;)

I don't talk about losing weight as I just don't have the will power...:(

Did everyone survive their frozen Valentine's Day? The DC-MD-VA area was hit pretty hard but thankfully I am all dug out today.

I wish I was on the cruise already...

What i did for our cruise in april was go to a Consignment shop that deals only in nicer items I found 2 formal dresses that i could use (one would have been fine for semi formal night but was more formal then semi) bought both for $39 and then got home and put one back up for Reconsignment. I kept the one i liked best and will use that one on this cruise for at least the 2 formal nights.

Great idea! Now I just need to find a consignment shop near by.

If I could swing it I would do it. You get to make your ressies for excursions earlier. They also have a seperate check-in but with amount of repeat cruisers on this trip I don't know if that will be a benefit. Then you also get the stateroom gift.:rotfl:

I did wonder about CC check in being busier than first timers. That would be annoying!

I am building my case!

How many of you going on this cruise are not Castaway Club members (First Time DCL travelers)? Just a guess but I bet it will be close to 90% Castaway Club members. It might be better to get in the regular line at the terminal.

But the good thing about being CC member is that we will have a choice! Whichever line is shortest, get in it.;)

Angie, that might be it!!! He is a big queue hopper and usually ends up in the wrong one! Now, if I can just say he would have the choice.......;)

Oh and, don't you get a special get together?

Finally caught up again. :lmao:

Welcome to everyone new. :thumbsup2 We are a fun group.

Happy Belated Valentines Day.

Rich and I spent most of day shoveling snow and ice. I swear the plow guys wait until you have everything done and then fly by your house at maximum speed in order to throw as much snow from the road as possible up into your driveway and newly shoveled sidewalk.

I could almost hear him laughing was he sped by.

I have been on the phone with DCL. When I made our reservations on Jan31. the site wouldn't accept our address. It said it was a PO box. It's not. So. I used my parents address. I emailed DCL with the correction. Needless to say the confirmation was sent to my parents. Mom forwarded it to me. I had to fix the address, it listed me as a Mr., the travel insurance was missing and I had them check if the Birthday notification was there, it wasn't.

Phew, all done.

Someone said they had a thing for uniforms, here's my me and my guy.

Take care all, it is 18 degrees here in Maryland. Off to walk the dog.

I'll second that! Having a battle with dd today to try and get her to do some studying (she's currently on her 'half term break' from college).....wish I was on castaway cay instead!:cool1:

Youngest DD took graduate level course over the winter break so she only had two weeks off. Tough course but she loves it. Of course, let's see when the grades are posted.

She had to convince professor of regular session class which started last week that she could miss first two regular classes so she can finish this class. Samantha really is ready to graduate in May!!

:surfweb:

Back already. That is the only good thing about it being so cold. Our dog doesn't want to stay out to long.

I forgot to mention, that the WB is sold out. I don't know if this has been discussed as of yet. The CM mentioned it when I spoke with her this am.
