well, good morning to you all:)

I'm sitting here actually looking at some sunshine! The lilac tree in my garden is beginning to bud and I'm hoping Spring is well on it's way!:sunny:

My wife and I are so excited about sailing on this cruise. This cruise has a lot of firsts for us - our first Disney cruise, our first two-week cruise, our first through the Panama Canal, our first cruise longer than a week and the bigeee (drum roll, please) - our first without our children (one is in college; one just got married and is in the Navy). We are a bit concerned about cruising alone and hope to meet up with other couples. We just discovered this board, which has lots of great information and lots of enthusiastic folks!

We're cruising without my dd too:) She'll be revising for her big college exams and we're really hoping we'll be back in time to help her through them.....:rolleyes1

Have to say though...we've never take her on a cruise!:guilty: She's not too bothered and we've always made the most of the time alone.:cloud9:

We will be taking her and her bf with us to WDW in October though, together with my parents and my sis and her family....so she doesn't go without!;)

See that shows you how clueless I am. Let us know what you decide to do. You are the best. You should set up a little e-bay business. Cruise money? Just charge more so you make a profit.

Unfortunately to do an e-bay business I would have to give up cruising. By the time it is out on my cruise thread that I make them I don't have time to make any others. :lmao: :rotfl:

I would be very interested in a fish extender as I am useless with crafty things. However being in the UK the shipping costs may be high. (I do have a Paypal account to pay) I know this would add to someone's baggage, but any chance we could pick it up onboard? I do understand if the answer is no though!!!:) Other than that I may find someone to make one over here if a pattern is offered!

If you click on the little blue check mark on the left side of the thread name it will take you to where you left off. ;)

I can't see a blue check mark - most threads have them but this one doesn't, it just says "Poll" where the check mark should be. What am I doing wrong?

Carol,

Can you show we who are ignorant of fish extenders what yours look like?

I sure respect your decision to charge - we kept changing our mind on what to do on our last cruise as the group kept growing and growing, and growing!

Should I drive down to get one if we decide to place an order?:woohoo:

Pictures were posted a few pages back but once we get a new one made I will post a picture of it.

We could always meet someplace and make it a mini Dismeet.

We will take them to the ship with us. We took several the last cruise. Just be sure to take things with you to decorate it with. I think that is part of the fun of ours and why they became so popular. We will check out the shipping for the UK, though, maybe it won't be that bad. We were surprised on what it was to Canada. The only thing is we can't ship priority out of state.

If people want to make their own I can post directions on the web site when it is fully up and running. I really don't have a pattern since I put them together from pictures and measurements given to me on the other thread.

Just want everyone to know that even though I do the majority of the posting my DH Doug is very much a part of the Fish Extender business. He helps with getting material, does most of the cutting (ugh, my least favorite part), the dowel rods and hangers, the mirrors, he is the shipping department and he gives me moral support when I need it. He is really great to have around and without him this would never get done.

We're off on a western cruise on May 5th this year.....

We'll be leaving the Magic the day you board!

We wanted to cruise for our anniversary (May 17th) but that's the transatlantic crossing, which I'd love to do but DH gets too seasick. We then thought of the May 5th Western but decided we'd prefer the Eastern, so went for the last one which is April 28th.

How strange! What a shame we won't be on the same one.....we've done the Eastern twice before and should have done the Western a couple of years ago but were redirected because of the hurricane:(

We'll be thinking of you as we board!:cool1:

Hey Guys,

We were thinking, if you really don't mind we would like to charge $25 plus $5 shipping. It would be nice to make a little for our time and effort.:confused3

Carol and Doug

tell me what these are? I will also participate (since I LOVE DISers), at any cost, but do not know what it is.:confused3

Is anyone doing shirts with the Mickey Pirate logo? (I voted for this one also):woohoo: :woohoo:

ONE MORE QUESTION: anyone flying out of Philadelphia Airport for this cruise and if they are, would you PM me and maybe we could 'hook up' - My DH and I are truly nice people (right, LiserAnn?:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: ) and just want to get to know DISers as early as possible.

Lucy and Bob

Yes, we are on board. Thank you to those of you who knew and kept it quiet, letting us make the decision as to whether we want to take this up again.

$30 sounds insanely reasonable to me!! I'm in, just let me know where to send the cash. that is so sweet of you to offer to make them , I know that I am completely inept when it comes to anything crafty.:( thank you thank you thank you!!

Can someone post a picture of the fish extenders please???

My DH is somewhat of a computer geek and has set a board up to help with the planning of the cruise. He would love to follow the activities but doesn't have time to read 30 pages a day on this thread. It's really an extension of the disboards but it has divided things into various threads rather than one big one. It's really for those that are having trouble keeping up with this thread. Right now the board is open but it can be closed to allow the kids to post with no worries and lots of people looking after them. Let me know what you think. A link to pj's website can be added -- probably once it's been closed so that it's not public.

It's at http://www.shipofthieves.com/phpBB2/index.php

But you can go to www.shipofthieves.com and there's a link to the board and to a chat room (which is part of the software) and a link to this thread as well. It has the logo there too.

I'd like to give it a try. Can't imagine we'd have enough fish mail to use one, BUT the kids would really like it.

Thank you, in advance!!

Can't help with the fish extenders, but, nice work Fiona's husband!! I really like the format of the DISboard-like software he chose. (My DH has been offering to do the same, but he keeps leaving town for work on the weekends!) I don't know if I can keep up with 3 sites, though!! Don't think we need two for the kids...Guess we'd all just need to choose one and make it happen.

Thanks so much, I'm accomplishing nothing this weekend and look what your hubby did!!

Thanks -- he gets all the credit -- I don't have a clue how to do it. If I have to do more than turn on a computer I'm stuck.
