May 10, 2008 Ship of Thieves! Stealing the Magic..AGAIN!!! Panama Canal FL to CA!!! Part 2

Hi!

I have my DD (9) and I booked for this cruise. I have been lurking on this board since 2/1 and thought I should come out and introduce myself. We are booked for cabin 1073 on Deck 1 through Dreams Unlimited. I would much prefer a higher deck and I am going to keep a watch on for open cabins just in case I can get moved. I would at least like to get moved to deck 2. My DS is in high school and will have finals that second week, so I don't think he can go, but I think I can get my daughter out for that time since it is at the end of the school year.

I had to cancel a 12/07 cruise earlier this year because my son had finals during that time and my DH said I can't take the kids out of school for vacation any more. I haven't told him about this booking. Shhhh!!!

I have been dreaming of this cruise since the rates were released for the 1st panama canal cruise came out in 2004. I was dying to go then but didn't have the financial means. But, that has all changed. (I graduated)

I haven't introduced myself until now because I wasn't (and I am still not) completely sure that I will be able to go because of my DD school. They are pretty strict around here about that. I would get a nasty letter from the school.

But, for now, I am really looking forward to it.

Probably just as well. Adrienne just ordered 4 more Vera Bradley display cases for the store, and I still have to buy our plane tickets to Europe in September. Plus we just booked the Thanksgiving 2008 Magic cruise - going with some friends we've been trying to cruise with for years.

My family (and about 8 families we love to travel with) are booked the the Thanksgiving 08 cruise. In addition, grlzmom (she has 6 daughters and a son) who is on the Westbound is booked on Thanksgiving too.!!

I can't wait!!

My oldest DS is not too far from you guys as he lives in Mt. Pleasant.

My brother lives in Mt Pleasant SC. He lives on Pitt St on the water. I sit on his porch and watch the cruise ships go by his front yard. It is the most beautiful house in the whole world!!

I went to Barnes and Noble last night to buy a book about the Med Cruise. I did not like anything they had, but I bought a book called Family Tree by Barbara Delinsky and I started reading last night and I could not put it down and before I knew it, it was 1 am. Great bbok if you love to read.

You have probably read some of our post about taking our children out of school. It is a hard decision.

You guys need to do what I did. Booked Westbound because DS18 will be out of school...leave DH home to take care of DD14 and DD12 and send them to school.

Then whne DS18 is back in college....take DD14 and DD12 Eastbound.

Noone misses school and I get two cruises!!

I wish!! Our kids are already back in school in August. But maybe I could say you stay home with one and then I will take the other and you stay home with the other and I will take the other one. No seriously neither Repo fit our school schedule so I rather take them out at the end then the beginning.

We met "LiserAnn" on a cruise 2 years ago - had a GREAT time on the Mexico cruise and her boys are SO cute....
We have booked main seating, and wondering if Lisa would like to hook up for dinner? Or anyone else ...I mean, come on, BOb and I have been married for 24 years next year - we would LOVE some company at dinner.
Like I said, we had a DIS group on the July 30 Mexico cruise and had such a great time with the WHOLE group.

I LOVE to talk, so this board is perfect for me Very hard to keep up with this group and all the threads, but I'm enjoying each and every post.....

Question, gang: how do you post that GREAT Mickey Pirate picture on your threads, help, please, for a non-techy person (I haven't learned how to operate a DVD player yet, but that's another story)
