Hello - I have been trying to keep up with the posts but gave up and will try to read as I can. Our family will be cruising this wonderful repo cruise with all of you.

I am doing this cruise as a surprise gift to my hubby who will return from Iraq for the 2nd time several months before this cruise - so this will be a great time for our family to spend time together.

By the time we take this cruise it will be our 3rd Disney cruise = we took our first cruise this past April and we are hooked!

We homeschool the kids who will be 11 and 13 on this cruise and they are looking forward to cruise - especially after we do bookwork the months leading up to the cruise about the PC!

I hope I will be able to keep up with things for this cruise - I know I will never be one of the top 28 posters to get access to the web site but will try to keep up with things.

I hope to find several other families with children who will be around the same age as mine to correspond with and/or families in TN.

Now back to reading all these messages!! Any chance of sub groups for messages?

Looking forward to meeting everyone in person!

Krisann

I knew I had read about someones DH who was in IRAQ. WELCOME WELCOME WELCOME!

Oh ok - thats what I get for reading only some of the posts - looking forward to the web site soon! :yay:

I know!! Do what you think is right and what you think is best for the family. They put the fear in everyone that is for sure. It has to be a personal choice no matter what you end up doing. If my child could not handle it academically I would not be doing it. You only know what is best. If you get to go that will be great.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I think it is best to go, that is why I booked this cruise in the first place. But, I don't want to end up having to go to court or get in any trouble. I read the county and city education board websites and the language is pretty harsh. But, I understand the need for it.

This is Lucy, wife of Bob, and we are the parents leaving our children at home and this cruise is sounding more and more exciting...I can't seem to keep up with these threads.
We are from Kutztown, PA, Bob is a manager for JC Penney, I'm a secretary at Kutztown University:surfweb:
No ages listed, P-L-E-A-S-E:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

We met "LiserAnn" on a cruise 2 years ago - had a GREAT time on the Mexico cruise and her boys are SO cute....
We have booked main seating, and wondering if Lisa would like to hook up for dinner? Or anyone else:confused3 ...I mean, come on, BOb and I have been married for 24 years next year - we would LOVE some company at dinner.
Like I said, we had a DIS group on the July 30 Mexico cruise and had such a great time with the WHOLE group.

I LOVE to talk, so this board is perfect for me:chat: :hyper2: Very hard to keep up with this group and all the threads, but I'm enjoying each and every post.....:cool1:

Question, gang: how do you post that GREAT Mickey Pirate picture on your threads, help, please, for a non-techy person (I haven't learned how to operate a DVD player yet, but that's another story):rotfl: :rotfl:

Hi Lucy! How you doing? I think EllaEnchanted is from PA, near you.

Yes, we can link for dinner, and anyone else who wants to join in!!

This group is a funny (large and very talkative) group of people. Very nice people here, just like our July 30th thread was/is. Glad to see you can join in!

Krisann,

My DD will be 11 at cruise also. Make sure you sign them up for private group all info on page #1. God Bless your husband for doing what he is in Iraq. You too for hanging in there and keeping the family going while he is away.

Hi!

I have my DD (9) and I booked for this cruise. I have been lurking on this board since 2/1 and thought I should come out and introduce myself. We are booked for cabin 1073 on Deck 1 through Dreams Unlimited. I would much prefer a higher deck and I am going to keep a watch on for open cabins just in case I can get moved. I would at least like to get moved to deck 2. My DS is in high school and will have finals that second week, so I don't think he can go, but I think I can get my daughter out for that time since it is at the end of the school year.

I had to cancel a 12/07 cruise earlier this year because my son had finals during that time and my DH said I can't take the kids out of school for vacation any more. I haven't told him about this booking. Shhhh!!!

I have been dreaming of this cruise since the rates were released for the 1st panama canal cruise came out in 2004. I was dying to go then but didn't have the financial means. But, that has all changed. (I graduated) ;)

I haven't introduced myself until now because I wasn't (and I am still not) completely sure that I will be able to go because of my DD school. They are pretty strict around here about that. I would get a nasty letter from the school.:(

But, for now, I am really looking forward to it.

Tammy

(p.s. can I join the DoD club?) :worship:

Welcome to the thread and more importantly...welcome to the DOD club! :laundy: :drinking1

I knew I had read about someones DH who was in IRAQ. WELCOME WELCOME WELCOME!

Thanks! I hope I had not already posted our intro on this message thread - if I did I could not find it and I did search! But I know I have mentioned it when asking questions/ answering questions on other topics.

Krisann

Actually, there was a very kind couple that were nice enough to make loads of these for the folks on the Southern Caribbean cruise. Can't thank them enough.

Ok-we need to "encourage" them to join us on this cruise! :rotfl:

Thanks for the warm welcome. On my first cruise, last December, I loved the DoD, and I got a little sloshed as a result!! I could have used a walker a couple of times. ;)

I have a stupid question. What do you do with the fish extenders? Pass notes, accept donations? (j/k)

No I think you did a trip report I read or something.

We're pulling our two boys out for 10 days. I feel this will be an educational experience on it's own. Our school district won't take us to court or anything like that, but I know the principal won't be happy about it. I figure, when I'm 70 and my kids are grown, we'll remember the panama canal experience and not the fact that the principal was unhappy with us.

Whatever you decide to do will be best for your family!

Are you guys flying out the day of the cruise. That has been my big decision. Take one more day off or fly out on red-eye.

I can only have 10 unexcused absences for my daughter or I will get in "trouble". I definitely plan on flying out that night after school is over. But, I am only a 2 hours nonstop flight from Orlando. I want to stay close to the port the night before.
