lol apparently I'm the only librarian they've ever known to be into rock music!;) I think they were sold on me as soon as they found out my musical tastes!!!:rotfl:

Just give me a nudge nearer the time and we'll sort out a great book for your son:)

Thanks...you're a doll!

Maybe we should have a door decorating contest! We did a fish extender decorating contest last cruise and it was a blast. I'll see if I can locate a picture or two of the winners.

There was a small group of judges who went around and decided the winnners. There were different categories and you signed up beforehand I think. I'll have to go back to that thread and look!

I hope you can locate the pictures, we might get some ideas from them!

I'm so jealous...I want to do a discruise to the med, but only if it goes to greece and the islands and to italy...my brother is the only family member that has been to greece in this generation and he was there for greek easter and he had a blast!

i like the church and the customs, i only know a little bit of the language, but i love the food the most!

....i have learned the John H. is John1, aka Capt. Spanx, and i have read about the bedazzled spanx... i'll put in my order too .... :scared:

can't wait to meet you on board... :yay: :yay: :yay:

I need to bedazzle my spanx...that seems to be the buzzzzzz HERE!!!

I love Greek food. I'm so excited because in my neighborhood a new plaza went up and there's a place coming in...."It's all Greek to You!". It's a deli AND bakery. I will be in seventh heaven. :cloud9: Next time my mom comes up for the weekend, she'll be thrilled.

Looking forward to meeting you too! We only have, oh, about 15 months to go.............................:guilty:

Morning and Happy Friday!!
Just how long is this flight from LA to FL? I think I remember around 6 hours or so right? I am going to need lots of tips on keeping children occupied!

Yep, 6 very long hours. I bring along things I now they're into. So for my youngest that would be matchbox cars and reading books and for my oldest that would be drawing books and reading books. They both love playing with the leapster, so that's a good thing and they both enjoy board games. I found travel sized Monopoly Jr, Sorry and Memory at Big Lots. That made our last trip wonderful. As usual, I had to play the games with them, but there's never any rest on an airplane for mommy when the kids are along! (DH got to read the paper!!! Imagine that?!?)

QUESTION: Where is Old Town Orange in relation to Disneyland...should I schedule a visit there next time I go to DLR? I might have some unused time share points and a long weekend visit to So. California is ALWAYS a good use of them. Patiently waiting to hear about a DLR DIS meet!

Those of you in the Charlotte NC area....turn towards Midland and wave to my brother! :wave2:

I'm sure someone mentioned this but just in case. Orange is not very far from DLR at all. At most it's 10-15 miles away. Very close.

Working on our DISmeets......

Still no word on our friend. This has us a little concerned. Rumor has it that this may have been a VIP run. This would explain the delay in releasing the names. The DOD is listing the cause as Hostile, as opposed to nonhostile-mechanical.

Thanks for all your concern. :goodvibes

I hope you hear something soon. Still praying for everyone. What does VIP run mean? A political person was on the chopper?

well, good day to you all:)

Had a bitter sweet day at school today as it was my last day. I had some beautiful presents from the teaching and non-teaching staff, but best of all some of the kids (all teenagers) ahd clubbed together and bought me the most beautiful silver bracelet. One girl even made me a cake with lots of pink icing and sprinkles as she knows I love pink.

I was really touched and only just managed to hold it together at the end of the day. Some the kids can be right brats sometimes, but they're a smashing bunch too. It made me so sad to think about poor Joanne, who died last week, being at school like these kids, laughing and joking with their friends.

Wow! That shows how special you were to the kids!! What a nice memory to have!!

Up until last year, I traveled a ton for work - 30-40 weeks a year easily. I always had a handfull of Disney DVDs in my briefcase. If I ended up next to a child whose parents were unprepared for the 5-6 hour flight, I would boot up my laptop, pop the movie in, and hand them a pair of headphones (or two with a splitter). Was a win-win for all of us. Kids were happy, parents were happy, and it made the flight a bit more pleasant for everyone. I'm not a big fan of using TV as a babysitter, but in a confined space, whatever it takes.

The funniest situation was when a little boy about 7 or so was watching Lilo & Stitch, and started singing along, loudly. :happytv:

I am the ONLY one of my immediate family who has NOT been to Greece. They all went in 1987 :sad1: , but we had a newborn son . . .

It has been on my list for years. I'm looking forward to finally being able to go later this year, starting with 4 days in Athens.

That is exactly what has happens to me, too. I am on the plane with the kids, keeping them quite. I looked over at my DH (mike) and he has the paper open. I swear for hours he was reading the paper. Or maybe just hiding behind it.;)
