OK, it's just me again and the DIS will be going down again momentarily and I will get some other stuff done before bed.

My DD and I went to see "Legally Blonde" in SF today!! It was AWESOME!! It is the premiere of the play and it will be leaving today, Sunday. My guess is that it will have a long run on Broadway and if anyone gets the chance to see it they should. Really well written and staged. Great music and choreography. Wish we had gotten tickets earlier in the run and then gone to see it again, 'cause we would have!!

We saw the premiere of Wicked as well and the lead actress of Legally Blonde is the actress that replaced Kristin Chenoweth in the NY Broadway play.

We did some shopping at the SF Centre as well. Very fun Girl day!!

Morning to the UK'ers when they come on board in about a half hour!!

I actually wrote this at 12:20 am, but the DIS went down and it didn't post until 12 hours later!!

Fell asleep before it came back up!

Hi Karen!!! Was a bit confused when I read the first post as I am almost ready to go to bed!!!

Hope you are having a good Sunday.

I try an rationalize to dh that my shoes weigh very little;) . Of course I always get to hear something about how many pairs of shoes I bring. What can I say....shoes are a necessity in this woman's life:cool1: Feeling sad...run to Nordstroms and get a new pair of shoes. hard day at work...run to Nordstrom's and get a comfy pair of shoes. Sick...nothing cures you better than new shoes. Unfortunately, I have already passed this obsession onto both my dd's! Maybe I will be packing one of those over the door shoe holders that people mention.

Nordstrom is also my shoe place of choice! I unfortunately have to wear orthodic insoles in my shoes so I have a very limited choice. If I want dressy and I know that I won't be walking or standing much, then I go with nice shoes that I don't have to put insoles into.

Since we ship wine to our destinations, we usually use the box to ship purchases, dirty laundry and SHOES back home! Could work both ways, (Marilyn!)

We've been spending the day digging out from the snowstorm. The local forecasters weren't too far off with all their hype this time. We did get hit with 8-10 inches of snow. First there was a layer of ice on everything and then all this wet snow, so the trees are going down all over the place. We lost half of a huge tree in our backyard, which has trapped my van in the garage. I tried to get a picture before DH started up the chainsaw to free the van, but I was too late. Thankfully, DH's truck wasn't in the garage or parked under any trees, so we were able to drive that today. He bought this huge monstrosity of a truck last week, and I have been teasing him about his new toy ever since. Well, I'm eating my words and am very thankful for his four wheel drive truck now.

We haven't lost power, thankfully, although my parents who live about an hour away don't have electricity. I'm hoping they are restored soon, or we will go get them and bring them here to stay. Some parts of the state are supposed to be without electricity for a few days.

It's really beautiful, but I got my workout for today by shoveling our sidewalks.

YUP! I'm a little worried too because we'll be in Detroit (about an hour and a half away) when it hits. Tyler and I have tickets to Sesame Street Live tomorrow. The storm is supposed to hit us late tonight, into the overnight hours and really get bad tomorrow morning. So I booked hotel room for us in Detroit for tonight so we'll already be there and will only have to drive home in it tomorrow afternoon instead of driving both ways in it.

:wizard: for safe travels for your DH & DS! Thank goodness they have 4wd!

How did you all make out with your driving? Is the weather a little better? This storm finally made it's way here too, in Ontario. We had freezing rain this afternoon and now it's snowing and snowing. My dad is driving my mom to Toronto tomorrow, about a two hour drive, for a medical procedure, I sure hope the roads improve by then .

Sorry to bring up a sad subject, but my good friend just got diagnosised with non-hodgkins lymphoma on Friday. I found out yesterday, and just got off the phone with her sister. She is undergoing some more tests today - bone marrow, scans, etc. She went to the doctor on Friday because she had some swelling in her face - she thought it was allergies. She is 37, a high school teacher, and has a 3 year old DD. I was in her wedding - I set up her and her husband. There were friends forever, but I saw this spark and became a match maker one St. Patrick evening in SF. Anyway, the doctor on Friday sent her straight to the hospital after her blood results came back. She has already had a treatment of chemo. The tumor is blocking (80%) the artery to her heart and has caused tremendous swelling. She doesn't want visitors today - asked that I come tomorrow. I imagine she is somewhat in shock - it has all happened so fast.

Agg. Life just turns sometimes. I have been saying prayers for all those that have mentioned things on the board, can't believe I'm sending the request now.
Thanks for listening.
Lisa

Sending prayers your DF's way. Really hope they can help her and caught it early enough.

I was confused too - thanks for explaining!

Well it is time for bed now.

Have great evenings everyone.

Just seen some Spanx on the E Oscar coverage so now I know!!!

Nite. See you tomorrow morning Karen.:) Hopefully before the Dis goes down.

Any college hoops fans?

Watching #1 and #2 playing, OSU and Wisconsin . . .

Nerve-wracking game!

I'm thinkin' we need a very special "Lisa-Birthday" party! :bday:

Lisa-daisy

Sounds great to me!!

So, how many Lisa's are there on this cruise? It seems we're all about the same age, so I'm thinking that must have been the name of the time!?!

I was born in 67 - 4 months before Lisa Marie Presley. In elementary school and there were 4 Lisa Marie's in my 3rd grade class.

I'm guessing most of us have either Marie or Ann for a middle name too!

Nordstom's does have great shoes, but I buy shoes so much I try to stick to the discount stores like DSW. I also go the the Nine West outlets a lot because they always have buy 1 get 1 50% off. That way you have to buy 2pairs.

On my 7 night cruise in December my sister and I each brought 10 pairs of shoes. My mom thought we brought too many, but I wore every pair. I actually went home with 11 pairs because my sister didn't want to have an overweight bag at the airport and I just drove home so she gave me a pair. I don't know how many I'll need for 15 nights.

I was born in 68!

Game over!

OSU 49, Wisconsin 48 . . .

We now return you to your regularly scheduled discussion of shoes . . .:rolleyes1

We will be at an Oscar party tonight in full dress up, pull out the tux and sequins mode!

They have a full home theatre with all of the surround sound, vibrating chairs, big humongous screen stuff! My DH is living vivaciously :rotfl2: though them!

We are bringing the lobster tales and our close friends are bringing the filet roast! Of course, we are also bringing wine! :dance3:

Should be fun! I'll report later!

Sounds so fun! I love the Oscars. I have too many household chores so I will TiVo it for later. I love watching the TV guide channel pre-show! Lisa

Very short Oscar dresses might be OK though . . .

Lisa-I'm really sorry to hear about your friend. Please know I'll keep her and her family in my prayers. That's tough.
