I know i don't talk as much as others and i don't know everyones name but i need some help. My grandfather had a 2nd stroke in 2 months and they aren't forcasting that his chances are all that great.

Could i ask that you send some good thoughts his way that he either isn't as serious as they say or if he is that he passes without too much pain?

Thanks in advance.
Prayers sent to you and your grandfather..sharon

Will be PMing you about teams!

Karen, wife of been2marceline

Thanks for the PM - I've gotten quite a few. This will be great. If anyone wants to take a lead for one of the days, just let me know! Otherwise, it will be easy for me to coordinate more days - I will be able to know all the secrets that way!!!:upsidedow

Prayers coming your way. My dad had a stroke a couple of years ago, and is doing well now, but strokes are a very difficult thing to deal with. Take care.

Lori,

Yes, we have the wine shop in Benicia, Ca. We did all of the wine tastings on the EB panama repo in 2005. They were fantatic!! We were really fortunate to have the General Manager and Master Sommelier of the Napa Rose in DL to almost all of the tastings as well as food and wine pairing seminars in Studio Sea.

I hope that he will be onboard again. I am planning to email him about it soon.

Karen, wife of been2marceline

Interesting . . . I may get some respect from my "boss who thinks I am crazy because of all my Disney vacations" if I tell him we have a wine shop owner from Cal onboard. I work for a grocery chain as head of HR, and our owner really loves wine. I call him a "wine snob" LOL.

I like to taste some, but am afraid my tastes are fairly pedestrian. Reds give me an unbelievable headache, and therefore I just like the not too sweet whites - a good Chardonay is usually my favorite, and I like some Rieslings too.

When Amy and I were first married, her sister lived near the finger lakes in NY, and we really enjoyed going to all the wineries around there. It was fun to see all the small vintners, and to taste the local wines.

I'm Much more of a beer guy though - but not that much of a drinker . . .

I really enjoy a good beer with my dinner, but probably just one.

My wife (UKANGEL) and I really enjoy our wine. I normally get a delivery every two months from

www.virginwines.co.uk

I also get more Frequent Flyer Miles for Virgin Atlantic, which also helps my vacations.

One thing I have found from my experience is that wine seems a lot more expensive in the US compared to the UK (and it is about the only thing, everything else is cheaper in the US).

It really depends on where you look and what kind of wine you are interested in. You can check out our sight and find wines for $8.00 US all the way up to $900.00 US! We specialize in a lot of hard to find and library wines.

Since I'll be doing a kid-free cruise, I plan on doing EVERY tasting I can find! :cool1:

:rotfl2:

Holly I am going to be so living vicariously through you during this cruise!! Me with my four boys under 8...wait under 10 then! Yes, they will be older so time for me too right???? Thank goodness for Flounders for our 2 year old:cool1: But wait....that *x%&)* beeper!!!

SF would be good to do Alaska in the summer and Mexico in the winter!!

They may not be able to bring it throught the canal, but they could come around the cape.

Maybe they will also keep one permanently in the Med.

Just musing...

Can you imagine if it was based in SF??? How wonderful would that be! :cloud9:

Hey PJ . . . am I doing something wrong in giving access to my public folder?

Has anyone been able to access the spreadsheet?

I know what you mean, I think because everything else seems a lot cheaper than the UK, the wine doesn't.

I really like your site and will certainly be ordering some wine from you for the cruise!!

Sounds perfect! I so excited - we have been on two cruises w/DCL and never did much at all with DISers. We were always with extended family and it was hard to coordinate. This time, it's just our family! And 15 nights!!! Plenty of time to play!

The same with DH and I. It is either me taking the GK's or us taking the whole family!! He and I are going to have a blast with all the great DISers on the ship.
Lisa

You jealous me??? You with your Cat. 2??? No, you can't be jealous of me for the next 14 months at least!!! I'm soooo jealous of you! I wonder who is in the Cat. 1s??? Maybe some DCL executive or better, better: a celebrity that will perform for us??? I imagine it won't be Britney Spears.
Lisa

I am hoping that someone who had either the cat. 1 or 2 will drop out so we can snag one of those. I did so well with my ill gotten gains over the weekend that it paid for the cruise!!

If not, we will be happy with our cat. 3.

I will be happy to be a lead for any day you need. Just send me the names and I will PM them and we can decide on a great gift!!

John,

We are planning to do a finger lakes trip in a couple of years. We have friends that live near Albany, NY and want to spend time in several of the wine areas there.

You would also be surprised at all of the winemakers that are also or former beer makers! My DD is one of them!

I like beer too, but it has to be and Amber, IPA, stout or something else with "color";) Not big on "light" beers or pilsners.

The EB repo also had a beer tasting. Great if you know nothing about beer, but kind of lame if you do! Still fun though!

Nope the public one is fine, i do the same, but mine is bright pink,:rotfl: . seems that the problem was that the download button was too subtle.

Martini tasting...WOW. didn't do that one on my last cruise. Is that one you recommend? I know dh will want to do the wine ones, but martini tasting is more my style:thumbsup2 Do you think the tastings are reasonably priced for the amount they give you?

I did the martini and beer tasting on my last cruise. They were both great. I believe martini tasting was $15 & beer $12. You actually get quite a bit to drink in the martini class. The instructors for both classes were excellent and very funny.

Karen,

I totally agree! I like my beer to have FLAVOR! I consider it more of a food than a drink - I just really like the taste of a good beer, and how it can compliment food - just like some people feel about wine. My tastes go toward the ambers and red beers. I liked the stout I had at the microbrewery on the BW at WDW too. The light beers and pilsners taste like flavored water to me. I really like some of the microbrewery/restaurants that I find. We have one in Cleveland called Great Lakes that is just GREAT.

As to NY, my wine snob boss made sport of me going to NY state for wine. He only likes the Cal or imported wines. NY state was "bush league" to him. I didn't care - we had fun, and bought some wines we really liked. Some wine tastings I have been to though, what others really consider very good wines (esp in the reds) I just cannot drink.

When Amy was not drinking any alcohol a while ago due to medications, she was drinking the non-alcoholic stuff - O'Douls - Patooooey!

Nope the public one is fine, i do the same, but mine is bright pink,:rotfl: . seems that the problem was that the download button was too subtle.

Good - thanks PJ. I am not an expert .Mac user, and I thought I may have messed up.

Oh, I so won't miss that beeper! Every time I thought I'd do some sort of adult activity or try to go to an adults only area, BEEP BEEP BEEP! :crazy2: But here's hoping you're able to sneak some adult fun in this time! If not, I'll have an extra drink in your honor!

Just a little over 100 to a major pirate: , and a few more to a little one.
