I'm with you two on the thread sleeping habits!! Also, oddly enough I feel like I am one of the few with children who are coming.... Is that a good thing for them on this cruise or a bad thing.

Also, see johns question about the characters. Does this also mean that our little ones will have no troubles getting chairs at the mickey pool?

AND WHERE IN THE **** IS MY CAT 3? (I had a really really bad day today, it was so bad this morning, I had to go outside in 30 degree weather and run in my work clothes to calm down) SO WHERE IS IT!!!!

kim

I am so sorry you had a bad day!! Running in your work clothes must have been interesting.....anyone ask you what you were running from?

If I get my cat. 1 or 2, my cat. 3 may just be yours!!

Just to let everyone know the first six of the Fish Extenders are done and will go into the mail tomorrow. Lisa (Liserann), Noel (Birkner), Julie (Mexican-Mouseketeer), Angela (MrsMork), Stephanie (taysmom) and Lisa (calmom) your extenders will go priority mail so you should get them soon. The white zip ties that have been included with them are to tie them to you "Fish" so they don't "swim" away (this happened on the SC cruise). It takes about two days to do six so the next six should go out soon. Lori (Mom of 2 Princesses), Nanette (nskjerven), Deb (EllaEnchanted)and Katie (gabbysmom04) we have not received your addresses yet and will need them to send out your extenders.

As soon as we figure out just how to do it we will post a picture of the what the ones for this cruise look like.

Have fun decorating all!

Carol and Doug

My check went in the mail today. Thanks again!

I don't know why, but I am having trouble keeping up with our thread . . .

That doesn't sound right . . . I can keep up, but I am not posting as much. With our DD thread, it was more like being in a chat room because we all kept talking to each other, and I think we were online a lot at the same time. I seem to often be out of sync with the pattern here - maybe because we have more people out West, and less on Eastern time.

Here, the pattern seems to be very different, and the thread seems to "never sleep". I also find that when I go to comment on something, someone else already said it, so I just keep reading . . .

Anyhow, just wanted to say I am still out here, just reading along since you all do such a great job of answering the questions I would comment on!

Glad to hear you are still with us. Anything new or interesting in your life you want to share? I think the more we share about each other the easier it is for the shy ones in the group to feel they know us. I can talk to anyone but I know there are members of the group here who are much more reticent.

I think the chat pattern is different as we not only have us West Coasters, we have the UK contingent which adds to the time zone confusion.

You guys were talking about this a little while ago, so I will share my story . . .

I know you all have probably heard enough from Kim, Angie, and me about the great group we had on our 12/9 DD cruise . . . we spent about a year getting to know each other.

My mom had been ill for about a year. On the weekend before that cruise, I got a call from my sister that she had talked to my mom, and she did not like how mom sounded (my sister is not in town) I called mom, and also did not like what I heard (she sounded very sick) so I rushed over and called 911. They took her to the hospital that Saturday night, and she had a terrible infection - by Sunday she was on life support, and that evening we decided to cut that off, and mom passed away.

We buried mom on Wednesday, and decided with a heavy heart to still go on our vacation - mom would have wanted us to. My friends here were an unbelievable and uplifting group to me in a very difficult time. I could not believe the kindness from many who were total strangers to me and my family other than the contact on these boards. I believe I got more hugs at the terminal from my DIS friends than I received from people I knew all my life at home, and it made all the difference in the world to me.

As someone said, cherish your parents, you never know when you may lose them.

I ran past the research park director and a business professor who thought I was running to see them. Wierd looks on thier face, so I just told them I was really mad and trying to cool down. They just laughed. At least I made someones moment...

When I took my last cruise on Celebrity in December, I attended a Cruise Critic meeting which was sponsored by Celebrity. They actually provided us a room, light refreshments and took a group picture. Do you know if DCL will allow DIS meetings in a private room? The CM also was able to give Audrey, our organizer printing meeting notices which other CM's delivered to our staterooms the day prior to the three meeings. We were also able to organize a private lunch.

Just my experience.

Noel

I know on the August repo 2005 the DCL navigators actually listed a DIS meet on the first or second day, lol. I think we could also do a pre-planned lunch in Lumiere's.

John, what are you telling these people? :lmao: I would NOT use the word shy to describe you. ;)

Noel,

Once I get going, I am the talker of the family. Amy, who only posted a couple of times here, is the shy one. Work and family issues have kept me busy lately too.

Part of me keeps thinking, well, we have about 15 more months - plenty of time to get to know everyone.

If what I saw on our other thread happens here too, there will be a core of diehards here who really get to know each other well, and keep the thread going. Lots of others signed on, but just kept tabs without talking as much. In the end, everyone got as involved as they were comfortable with.

Me, I just really enjoy meeting people and hearing about their lives. I find it so interesting. I also feel much safer here than other places on the internet because of the common love of Disney, which for the most part, brings people together who are more family oriented like me.

I would be really reticent in what I have seen out there in other places.

I have arranged to take group pictures before, I just need to arrange it with guest services (if we want a character in the picture) and Shutters. I know them, so I can arrange a Pirate picture on pirate night in the atrium if you would like.

We could do a picture with Mickey!?!:upsidedow

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: Many of us got thru tough times last year primarily thanks to our cruise friends. Still can't believe that all of you are booked on a different cruise now.

Kim,

You made mine too!

I can just see you doing this! I keep thinking of some movie where someone did this, but I can't put my finger on it!

One time when I was young and in shape, my team lost a ball game (I was in college - softball league). I was really, really, mad. I went home, took off my uniform, put on my shorts, and ran seven miles.

I really miss running, and my goal is to one day lose enough of this middle aged flab to be able to run again. It is the best stress reliever in the world!

I really do sympathize. We lost my Mother in 2003, my 47 year old sister in 2004 and my Dad in 2005. I am now the eldest in my generation. Cherish the time you have with your loved ones!!

Thanks for the pms re: bracelets .... pm me at mishoe01 (it says mishoe1 on page 1). The place I'm leaning towards has a symbol of a skull & crossbones if we want to add that too. Regarding the saying....I like Jackie's (ibouncetoo) ideas - need to keep in mind that there's space for only 20 characters per side. Keep those thinking caps on! I figure I'll have to get mediums (for the kiddies) and larges for the adults. So if you're pming me for the 1st time, let me know what size you would need (and how many of each). I will touch base with those who've already pmd me.

Those stories that you guys wrote....had my eyes filling up. Great stories. Thanks for sharing.

We did the bracelets this year, child size = 4 and under set, medium = ladies, average men, and kids over 5 (unless very petite). Large, for big bone DISer like me!

ooh ooh I want to share too!

I first posted on this site in May of 2006. I am not kidding you when I tell you I did not think there were people this nice left in the world today. I was totally stunned by the generosity of time and effort put in by the people on that thread.

There are people on that cruise that I feel closer to than any neighbor I have ever had in my life. I do not cry often, but the last morning on the cruise I bawled like a baby. I was so overwhelmed by what a wonderful experience these incredible people had given me and even more so, my DD. She has been working with people at the university because she is so shy. She said this was the best vacation of her life.

I cannot express the appreciation and absolute shock that people can be this nice, and not just to get something, they actually are this nice.

Should I start singing kumbya now?

Has anyone else ever gone to "Pub Night" on the last night? Some of the crew members do this skit called "If I Were Not Upon The Sea" that is hilarious!:lmao:
Also, there was a really neat photo op with all the characters in the atrium on the last night, as I recall.

A bunch of the ladies went on the last cruise I was on, oh yeah one boy too, we had tears streaming down our faces,:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: .

I'm truly sorry for your loss, John. But glad you had the support of so many DIS friends! One can never have too many people around them who care. :grouphug: Although it must have been a difficult time for you and your family, I'm sure your mom would have been happy you didn't cancel your vacation.
