Just to let everyone know the first six of the Fish Extenders are done and will go into the mail tomorrow. Lisa (Liserann), Noel (Birkner), Julie (Mexican-Mouseketeer), Angela (MrsMork), Stephanie (taysmom) and Lisa (calmom) your extenders will go priority mail so you should get them soon. The white zip ties that have been included with them are to tie them to you "Fish" so they don't "swim" away (this happened on the SC cruise). It takes about two days to do six so the next six should go out soon. Lori (Mom of 2 Princesses), Nanette (nskjerven), Deb (EllaEnchanted)and Katie (gabbysmom04) we have not received your addresses yet and will need them to send out your extenders.

As soon as we figure out just how to do it we will post a picture of the what the ones for this cruise look like.

Have fun decorating all!

Hi pahrumpgirl,
I looked for the directions for making the fish extenders but didn't see them. I did see the explanation and all, but not the directions. Are they there and I just overlooked them? (very possible!)
Thanks!:goodvibes

On a different subject entirely.....(but about the cruise!)pirate:

Do we need to change our US currency to something else for teh differetn places on the cruise....and if so can we do that on the ship do you know, or do we need to come prepared....or does everywhere take US $???

I also need to find this out about Grand Cayman for this May I guess!:confused3

Cheers!:thanks:

Generally find that a Master or Vise card works best. That way you get the current exchange rate when the statement comes. Sometimes you win and sometimes you loose a little but over all it works best for most of the bigger stores. Street vendors are another subject because they are not equiped to handle charge cards. Most will gladly accept US$ but never agree to the first price they ask for an item and most will claim they are unable to give any change so make sure you have lots of $1.00 bills.:cool1: ;)

Has anyone else ever gone to "Pub Night" on the last night? Some of the crew members do this skit called "If I Were Not Upon The Sea" that is hilarious!:lmao:
Also, there was a really neat photo op with all the characters in the atrium on the last night, as I recall.

Never been to the one on DCL because I always had DS4 with me, but last month was my first cruise without him, so I finally go to go! It wasn't DCL, but they did the same skit (which I had seen a video of from somebody's DCL cruise) and it was TOO FUNNY!

Carol and Doug - any recommendations/suggestions as to the best way to decorate our fish extenders? Do stickers stick on there, or is it best to sew something on there - or use super glue?? Any help would be appreciated.

RE: the bracelets - if you're an adult it doesn't mean you have to order a large. I will try to get the sizes and then we can see what people think they'll need.

Once I get back home I'll have to see about starting up a spreadsheet w/ those who've responded about the bracelets - we'll then get a better idea of the costs involved.

Is anyone else going to have a hard time keeping track of everything they get/have/order for this cruise for the next 14 months??? I'm lucky I remember my head most mornings (and that's attached!).

would love to know what 'Fat Tuesday' is!:lmao:

Mardi Gras (French for "Fat Tuesday") is the day before Ash Wednesday, and is also called "Shrove Tuesday" or "Pancake Day". It is the final day of Carnival. It is a celebration that is held just before the beginning of the Christian liturgical season of Lent.

Website for more info on Mardi Gras celebrations all over the world:

I need suggestions and help also!!

Should we measure our wrists and send them to you?

Let me know if you need help with spreadsheets as I know they can be time consuming.

Same here. I am so glad that I am on the cruise instead of the EB repo. I think I would loose my mind trying to keep up with those pirates!!

Pancake Day here!!! Made loads and ate loads. These aren't the chunky ones we love when we visit the US, but the thinner ones, more like French crepes! I have mine with Golden Syrup but John has lemon juice and sugar!! Yum!!:)

Do you call it Fat Tuesday for a reason?

Well, this one already got answered . . .

No Pub Night, but we have gone to "'Til We Meet Again" in the atrium - good chance for the kids to see the characters. Since someone mentioned so few kids on the cruise, for those of you who went before, will my 8yr old dd get to see the characters as usual, or will the "big kids" make it hard for the little ones to see the characters?

Hopefully that wont happen so much with the repos since they sold out so quickly & have waitlists to fill in the cancellations. There shouldn't be too many opps for people to upgrade at the port. Between everyone who switched to 12s at the 30 day point to save money & those who upgraded at the port...keeping a list current was a nightmare! :scared:

And it was Lisa's nightmare! We did something for everyone on the cruise . . . foam bananas with the date and "DIS Geeeks" imprinted on them. Almost all of us had stockings instead of the fish extenders (pre-Christmas cruise) so I just walked the entire ship one night (yeah, EVERY deck) with my big box of foam bananas and stuffed them into every stocking I found.

Monica,

Just about anything can be used to decorate the Fish Extenders. The pockets are made of duck clothe so anything you can do with cloth you can do with them. We used scrapbooking things to decorate our first extender as well as put our picture on it with dark tranfers. You can write on them with any fabric or glitter pen. If you use stickers or anything that already has an adhesive you might want to add a touch of superglue or glue gun just to give it some extra stick. Others on the SC cruise used things from grass skirts to lights to decorate theirs. If you have kids, let them help. From what I heard families had a great time decorating them together. Use your imagination. It was great fun seeing what everyone came up with.

I don't know why, but I am having trouble keeping up with our thread . . .

That doesn't sound right . . . I can keep up, but I am not posting as much. With our DD thread, it was more like being in a chat room because we all kept talking to each other, and I think we were online a lot at the same time. I seem to often be out of sync with the pattern here - maybe because we have more people out West, and less on Eastern time.

Here, the pattern seems to be very different, and the thread seems to "never sleep". I also find that when I go to comment on something, someone else already said it, so I just keep reading . . .

Anyhow, just wanted to say I am still out here, just reading along since you all do such a great job of answering the questions I would comment on!

Noel,

Thanks for making me feel like I'm not the only one (losing my head comment :rotfl: ).

Re: bracelets - don't worry about anything right now. I know that there are 3 sizes that can be ordered, but the info for the website I'm leaning towards is at home, so I won't be able to jot down the info until next week (I get back to FL late Sunday). At that point you'd each have to measure and see which one would be best for you (not too tight). Thanks also for the offer of help w/ the spreadsheet---I may take you up on it!

Thanks - another excuse to go to the craft store (heehee!).

Imagine the reactions from people if they weren't familiar with the DIS boards!:rotfl2: Great form of exercise though

I'm with you two on the thread sleeping habits!! Also, oddly enough I feel like I am one of the few with children who are coming.... Is that a good thing for them on this cruise or a bad thing.

Also, see johns question about the characters. Does this also mean that our little ones will have no troubles getting chairs at the mickey pool?

AND WHERE IN THE **** IS MY CAT 3? (I had a really really bad day today, it was so bad this morning, I had to go outside in 30 degree weather and run in my work clothes to calm down) SO WHERE IS IT!!!!

My thoughts exactly! Are you reading my mind? ;)

I watched it from one of the balconies between the elevators, which was a good place to see the "show"--I was impressed that they made a point of facing different directions (forward, left & right) so people w/cameras could get a good picture. I think the best photos would be had from the main floor instead of where I was. It seems to me that the charactes on the main floor stayed around for awhile afterwards for some more pictures, but I'm not sure about this as I just went by myself and didn't have a little kid to worry about so I wasn't paying that much attention.

Here's one of my photos to give you an idea...
