Wow Linda - your daughter looks great!

John, so sorry to hear of your brother's troubles. Hope all is better soon.

The recent DL trip sounds great! Wish we were there.

Duke Law! Wow!

Love all the door signs. We are going to be one stylin cruise!

Looks like Star has more luggage than our family of 6 combined will!

Ok...better stop typing as I will wake DH! Night all.
Lisa

Goodnight Dame Calmom!!!

British Airways has the tracking number for the luggage, but does not know where it is (or, for that matter, any of the luggage for that flight).

BA now has our friends' cruise itinerary. The soonest they expect to deliver it is at one of the ports in Hawaii, but there is no guarantee since they don't know where the luggage is.

Woody

 I hope they get their luggage soon. I imagine they put a lot of thought and care into what they packed as we all do and cannot imagine how they must have felt to be told it was all lost for the moment! Heck I have bought tons of stuff just for the cruise and have taken my time looking for good deals as I knew I needed to buy a lot. I imagine they are now shopping the best they can but they cannot deal hunt when time is so short. I will think good thoughts for them and hope everything shows up soon. :)

I lost my oldest daughter in the year 2000. she was just 4 1/2 years old. One of the hardest things for me was the memories or lack of enough memories I should say. I had started to feel like I should have done more, seen more, gone more, etc with her. Then I thought what if the roles were reversed? What if I were gone tomorrow, what would my kids have to remember me by? What about when they are grown what will they remember of their childhood? I want to make sure my kids have strong memories of us playing together, laughing, hugging, smiling, giggling, and the over all feeling that mom really loves them more then anything in the whole wide world. I would give my kids anything and would do anything for them but I feel the most important thing I can do for them is to give them a solid foundation of love to build the rest of their lives on. :cloud9:

AMEN!!! :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

After we I left she was free to drink and be merry and lounge about since I took her child back to NorCal with us. I think she wore herself out LOL.

Should we form a seach party or should we just follow the trail of Smarties she has left behind... cause you know... sooner or later she will get hungry and retrace her steps... :rotfl:

LOL well since we know all too well she can't stay away for long it will only be a while before she pops back on here to catch up!

Not sure if it's been around before... thought it was funny for April Fools!!!

Hollywood Studios renamed Trump Studios

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Florida. -- In an unprecedented move, the Walt Disney World Resort has lost Disney's Hollywood Studios in a hostile take over by the Trump Organization, and it's audacious CEO Donald Trump. Previously known as Disney-MGM Studios, the park recently underwent a name change to Disney's Hollywood Studios, reflecting the changing focus of the park to reflect a celebration of the new entertainment that today's Hollywood has to offer—in music, television, movies and theater.

The Trump Organization had been in discussions with the Walt Disney Resort over several sponsorship opportunities and development projects outside of the current Disney resort areas. It became apparent, as negotiations failed, that the Trump Organization had no choice but to stage a hostile take over of one of the Disney theme parks if it was interested in putting their name in front of the thousands of theme park guests that visit each day.

Starting on April 1, 2008, Disney's Hollywood Studios will be known as Trump Studios. It will take several months for all the signage in the park and the Walt Disney World resort to be updated to show the change. Several changes to the park will be made over the coming months to reflect the new ownership:

1. All DVC locations will be converted to sales locations for the Trump Towers, high scale condominium towers located in major cities nationwide. Full scale condos will be built in the current Disney Animation building.

2. Apprentice Live attraction - The plans for the upcoming American Idol attraction have been scraped, and will be replaces with the Apprentice Live attraction. Guests will watch an episode of the Apprentice recreated by cast members, including an animatronic Donald Trump, complete with the "You're Fired" catch phrase.

3. The Backlot tour will be retrofitted to take guests on a tour of Trump properties from around the world, including Trump Tower in New York, Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City, Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas and Mar-A-Lago, Trump's palatial estate. Catastrophe Canyon will remain, but will be retrofitted to reenact a scene from a Miss USA pageant, complete with existing out of control fire and flooding.

4. The famous Mickey Mouse ears will no longer be sold in the park, but will be replaced by Donald Trump replica wigs, which are expected to be a big hit.

5. The Great Movie Ride will be converted to Trump Orlando, a full service casino, a first for a theme park.

Many other fantastic rides and attractions are to be announced in the coming months. The Donald himself looks forward to welcoming all guests to the new Trump Studios during The Donald Weekend during all the weekends in May.

 I often think of your loss...I just can't imagine. You write words to live by.

You know growing up I laughed at those "have you hugged your child today?" bumper stickers. Now I see how it is such a valid question. I make sure to grab each of the kids every day even if just before bed and hold them tight and say I love you.

LOL well since we know all too well she can't stay away for long it will only be a while before she pops back on here to catch up!

I think she was on earlier so we know she's alive... Give her until tomorrow... to recover that is!!!

Night All!!!

I didn't get to have any kids of my own, but I have 5 of the greatest kids (nieces and nephews...) (one of which hates me right now because she wants to go on this cruise!!! :rotfl2: (she'll be taking finals during May...)

But I started along time ago telling each one of them that I loved them. When they were little I never expected them to answer because, you know, they go through those awkward stages... then one day... with my oldest... it just came out... Love you Aunt Shell... I melted...:cloud9: They all do it now, even when they are in front of their friends.

The luggage on their flight turned out to be from an earlier flight.

The flight crew made no mention of the luggage problem. So the passengers did not learn about until they got off the plane.

British Airways said they would get their luggage within 48 hours. The problem is they are leaving on a cruise from L.A. to Hawaii in 32 hours. Arrrggghhh!

So, what would you do if your luggage might not arrive before a cruise? Go shopping?

Woody

It just isn't funny is it? Poor folk. I presume they get a miserely $100 to shop for essentials! This is what I was worried about for this upcoming trip - hence arriving 4 days bafore the cruise. No guarantees though. We aren't travelling BA either as they had baggage problems last year too.

Well, no time to catch up again . . . I've had a bit of a day.

Just when I was catching up this morning my brother called - he was supposed to go back to work today after break (he is a teacher) - and his feet were so swollen he could not even get his shoes on. He has extreme fear of doctors and hospitals, and I had been trying to talk him into seeking medical care for over a week.

I got him to call off work, make a doctor's appointment, and then I had to take him to the appointment. I had to drop him and leave him because I could not leave the office for so long a time.

My brother is extremely obese, and he looked ashen. He had difficulty even walking to and getting in my car. I think I have mentioned that my father lives with him.

Later in the afternoon he called to tell me I had to take him to the ER, he was retaining fluid, but they were afraid to give him medication without tests. The whole way to the ER he was freaking out on me - I thought I was going to have to slap him to get him to calm down.

I got him to the ER, got him admitted, and had to go home to get Sophia and my son dinner (who had brought some friends to watch the game). Can you say Olive Garden carryout? I had to calm down my dad, get his medication ready for him, and keep answering his calls wondering what was happening. Can you say 85 year old man with time on his hands?

He just called a little bit ago. He was admitted. He is anemic, and they were giving him 3 units of blood. He thinks he will be released tomorrow (who knows?). Meantime, I have to get to my dad's in the morning again to get his medicine ready for him. Take him lunch, take him dinner.

Oh yeah, and I have this job that keeps getting in the way. Now, what would have happened if this happened on May 11th? I know many of you are in similar positions with family - we should all say prayers for each other.

Poor Amy is dealing with my frustration half the world away, even though she gets to sit by a pool and have her feet massaged. I barraged her with email during the day because there is no one else to talk tol

Anyway - miss you guys - wish I had more time to spend, but it is bed time for Sophia!

What a bad day John. Hope things improve quickly and your brother is home, and well enough for you not to have to help too much. Sounds like he needs to make some lifestyle changes.

Hope you managed some relaxation last night.

I actually have some good news to post! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Our DS, Mike, has decided to attend Duke Law School this fall. He didn't get into Stanford, and NYU didn't offer him any money, but Duke offered him a scholarship. I was rooting for Duke the whole time! His dad and I are so happy! He is onlly 10 hours away!    (sorry west coasters, but CA is just SO FAR AWAY!).:yay:

Brilliant. Well done Mike.:thumbsup2

20,000 bags have built up and need to be reunited with owners. BA say it will be a slow process!!:scared1:

:grouphug: So sorry. But, what lovely words and way to live.

Cheri, I learn everything by the seat of my pants. Are you bringing a laptop on the ship? I wasn't planning on it, but maybe someone with PSE will let us borrow theirs, eek!

I have a tonne of digital scrap stuff on a usb key, ready to bring with me, to share and play with.
Pj

Yes, I am. I don't know if it will run PSE 6, but I'll load it on and see. If it does, we're in business!:goodvibes

I'm the same as you PJ. Everything has been self-taught or found out via the web. Mainly just sitting down and playing with things. I think the UNDO button is my most used feature!!

I'll have my laptop with me with PSE4 on it. But it's Windows... Not sure if that helps you maccers ;) Bringing it as my photo backup, as well I was given a Powerpoint presentation for the Geocache talk I'm giving on the ship.

Since I'd just like you to show me some basics, I'm sure it would be fine. Thanks so much!

So Ken I will bring the usb key of digital and disney scrap files and we can play with Cheri one day. I have to use CS3 on windows at work every week, so I should be able to keep up, maybe.

Pj

Oh boy, we get to play computers! I'm excited!:cool1: Thanks, PJ!

Yes and a bandana I cut up.

I enlarged this photo, and use it as a pattern.

mickeyp.jpg

Neat idea! I like it!:thumbsup2

WHen I had my first daughter I realized that I had never really knew such a deep and true love. Once you hold that cute little bundle of pure love in your arms you know there is nothing in the world you wouldn't do for your child.

The best extreme home make over I ever saw was about this family.
"In early April 2006, a massive F-3 tornado tore through the Hawkins hometown. While Jerrod was on duty and could only watch the storm from his fire station, the tornado hit his home directly, ripping the house from its foundation. Amy heroically saved her sons, Jair and Cole, by lying on top of them in the basement. But unfortunately the bricks, debris and concrete that hit Amy caused permanent injuries -- her vertebrae and ribs were crushed, her lungs were punctured, and she sustained serious head trauma. After the tornado subsided, Amy and the boys were found under a pile of rubble and neighbors called the fire station, where Jerrod had to instruct his neighbors how to give his own wife CPR."

When they spoke with the mom who almost died and asked her what made you throw yourself on top of the boys she said simply "I'm their Mom, if someone was going to die I wanted it to be me". I cried through that whole show because I understood exactly how she felt. She was badly injured and now in a wheel chair, her whole house collapsing on her and she stated she would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

Good Morning

I still busy and have not catching up some pages. I will read it later.

I saw Marilyn forum about luggage missing.

I thought oh please don't want end up again.

Because last Med Cruise after the Cruise, we came home and our luggages went missing for several days. My luggage went missing for almost 3 weeks. I was not happy. That was British Airway!!

Also I remember on first day on the Cruise I went up to customer desk and saw lady slapped her husband's face and she was so mental - screaming and tear up things. Later on I find out that her luggages went missing too on frist day on the Cruise.

I hope this time, smooth.

I heard Heathrow terminal 5 is a nightmare now.:sad2:

Now I sold Olivia's clothes on ebay so I better go and start packing it and post it.

Some clothes are new and only worn once some new clothes now too small, unbelieveable that why I am selling it ;)

I will put photos of Ian and Keith soon.

John, sending you :grouphug: and hoping that things settle down for you soon. We all miss you too but know that, much as we wish it wouldn't, life does sometimes have to take precedence over DISing!

But it is now April, so we will all meet up on vacation NEXT MONTH. :woohoo:

You have managed to live through the most unthinkable adversity that exists and turned it around to become the most rewarding, fulfilling, loving, giving and supportive mother there is for Jacinda and Dominic. You have surmounted hurdles in your life that no one else can even touch and you have my utmost admiration. When I do my memorial prayer on Mother's Day I won't merely mourn for my loss, but instead will celebrate the remarkable woman you are as an example to all of us. You should be so very proud of yourself Marr, I certainly am to be able to know you!

Our British friends say when they saw the words "Free Willy" on the movie theatre marquees, they were appalled.

Wood

Well, I wouldn't be appalled. Amused, yes. It's funny rude, not obscene rude!

And I wouldn't expect to see it on the freebies thread that Holly has mentioned. :lmao:
