Isn't it great to have others around you who are disney crazed?! At our neighborhood event last weekend I finally met one of our neighbors who is also a DVC owner. After about an hour of discussing Disney Scott finally had to break us up so the people hosting could start to clean up:lmao:

The owner of the Mac shop called today to give me the report on my sick computer (hopefully it's a minor thing, they are keeping it for observation for the weekend).

After we took care of business she said, "Oh, and I just wanted to tell you that I love your desktop photo!" It's a pic of the castle at DL in its Xmas lights, taken on a rainy night last Jan. We start talking and it turns out she & her DH were married at the GC hotel a couple of years ago and are DL annual passholders--in other words, Disney nuts like me/us! She has not, however, been on a Disney cruise so was very interested to hear about the upcoming trip. I told her to feel free to look at my photos while the computer was in the shop so she could see what the ship was like!:thumbsup2

hi guys drive by post again...

We are in snug as a bug in a rug in our room at the Paradise Pier, we upgraded to the park view room, for an extra $20 a night, well worth it.

My sister, Lee and I hung out today in Old Town Pasadena, got some Sees candy and had a nice lunch in the sunshine, no agenda, just relaxed. My auntie had an appt, so we ended up not making it out to dinner but instead just hung out at their place and visited. It was good.

We picked up Molly at the airport (SNA) at 10pm, then headed straight here.

We checked in and Mickey left me a little gift, balloons, a bday pin and a picture of Belle & The Beast wishing me a happy bday.

We are going to try to make early entrance @ 7am, I just sent Molly to bed, she needs to be up at 6am to shower, I took mine tonight, so I can sleep in, until 6:30, remember I told ya, I can wake up on vacation, just not at home :scared1:

Wilson gave me an early bday present, a book about Walt as a child. It was so sweet, I cried. I miss that boy...:sad2:

Had ourselves a night nite cap of me (Malibu rum and coke) and room service of ice cream and mickey rice krispies with the chocolate dipped ears

Marr and Steph made it to town around 7 or 8 pm, I don't know if they have come by to say hi here yet or not.

We are going to call each other at 8am and well meet them somewhere near Nemo, that is our ride it alot and early plan.

Kelly called and is coming to see us early too.

And Hopefully Bubba and Venetia are coming down sometime this weekend also. Should be a fun weekend.

Hope all is well with everyone here, I'll try to get back and catch up soon.

A girly girl.:cutie:

for 14 bucks and they will grow out of it soon, I don't think it's a bad outfit.

I like it.

Does she love dresses too? Brooke yells at me when she goes to school if I make her wear jeans or pants.

Our eldest granddaughter doesn't like trousers either. But, she is also not a real pink bows and pretty frills type!

And am thinking about getting matching of these outfits for embark day...

Cute. I used to dress our 2 sons alike in the 70's. They hate looking at those photos now!!:lmao:

Some people could save $250 just by staying off eBay for a week.

Wow, what a party......it sounds like a little mini meet turned out to be a big fun meet......how awesome that everyone could make it to play together and celebrate Nan's birthday. Have a very special time everyone, TAKE PICS to share with us here and give us a full detailed report when you can!:yay: :yay: :yay:

Good morning all! Am I the only one in North America up and on?

I went to be too late (working on signs) and woke up too early.

My tenants woke me up with their dogs. That got Truman and Tallulah barking so I hauled myself out of be about an hour a go.

Last night I set up a new Airport Extreme base station.

I was not aware that the Extreme Base station does not play well with older Airport Expresses. If you use an Airport Express to act as a bridge for an Airport Extreme, you cut your network speed down by 50%. I have 2 Expresses which got the network speed down by 50%.

I found all this out during a call to Apple, becaue I also for the first time in my life had trouble setting up the hardware.

Apple's phone support (I spoke to someone in California not India) was great!

I now have 2 Airport Expresses that I don't need anymore, so I have to figure out how to sell them.

A funny thing happened during the call. While I was on the phone with the guy, he had me check out the various devices in throughout the house to see if the signal from the single Extreme base station would be strong enough for the entire house.

I went from floor to floor, room to room checking out devices.

Then I say to him, I have to check out the Chumby, because she's located at the furthest point in the house.

He says, "What's a Chumby?" So I tell him. I then go to make sure that Mrs Bennett has the right network password and is getting a strong enough signal.

The Apple guy says, "Hey, the Chumby is really cool!" He was look at it while I was doing my configuring. Then to test it out, I had Mrs Bennett start playing some music from Sorcerer Radio.

The Apple guy was floored. It was rather funny. I think I sold a Chumby during the support call.

I also put in an order to upgrade our DSL connection with AT&T yesterday to a higher speed.

Sukie has said that we are becoming more and more dependent on the Internet and more and more things in the house are connected to the Internet. Sukie said yesterday that pretty soon we going to be so connected that if we lose our Internet connection the toilet will stop flushing.

Today is going to be very busy. I have the test drives at 9:00 AM and then running errands.

Well yesterday was my DStepDad's 78th birthday.....the first one without mom. I called him at Mrs. Bush's.....the personal care home down the road where he lives......and told him that we would celebrate today. So we're picking him up at 2pm and taking him out to dinner and having cake and birthday wishes and presents.

I asked him if his daughter had called him and he said she did the night before. I can't beleive that she didn't take the time to come and see him knowing that this is his first birthday alone without mom. But that's okay coz we got it covered and we'll take care of him and make sure that he gets to celebrate his special day today. The sad part is......I know he would rather be with his daughter and his grandkids than us. Karen, his daughter, has still not seen him since mom died......and it's eight months now.

It's hard for me to comprehend how some people can live with themselves when they do things like this. It's beyond me. I could never be like that.

No, but Hmmmmm . . . maybe I should SHAVE the mustache this time . . . You all will know if Amy is reading the boards after this post - as much as she hated the goatee, she will not let me shave the 'stache.

Thanks Kaylee.
I just sent Amy an email - around 10:00, it was like a switch was flipped and I felt 100% better. I hope it is real, and not a false alarm!

I am reading.... I don't think any shaving should be done on the upper lip!

Things are going well here in the Philippines. It is HOT and HUMID! We did a tour of the city the other day. Took a hotel car and driver and had him take us to all the tourist spots. The American War cemetary was amazing. It was very much like Arlington. Driving around gave a new perspective of the city. We went from the area known as Millioniare row to areas that were more like third world. 7 days down, 11 more to go!!

At least he has you. I'm sure he will have a great time celebrating his b'day with you. Some people just think about themseves and not others.

Well good morning Ian. I don't think I understood anything in your post apart from the barking dogs, speaking to someone in California instead of India, and doing a test drive!!!:lmao:

You really are a lovely person Deb looking after your stepdad like you do. How sad for him that his daughter is so selfish. You deserve many blessings.

Amy, lovely to hear from you. Glad things are going ok. Hot and humid I don't like these days, but it will get you in training as I suppose the PC might be a little like that but not as hot perhaps. 11 days will soon pass now.

Glad you popped in! The weather is getting you ready for our cruise - hot and humid!

Our clocks go forward tonight so I might be grumpy with John tomorrow!!!;)

I read on here the other night that WDW started a room only sale for when we will be there. I don't have a place to stay yet.....so I have been looking. I loved Boardwalk .... Grand Flordian is sold out......where should I stay??
Lisa

AKL had a great rate. We stayed there the last time.:thumbsup2

A Tale of Tails Part Dix

I am happy to say that the black vests and bow ties arrived today. So, the ensembles (for the moment) are complete, the tails, white dinner jackets, etc.

The entire effect is still not yet complete. A few other accouterments are arriving over the next couple of weeks.

Top hat and cane?

I've had my cootie shot. I got it on the playground in the first grade. :rotfl:

That's what I thought....no not that you're a DIM WIT...because you ARE NOT....that you were with Budget because Mark was going to try to share a taxi with you gals (I'm waiting at the port for him with the boys and luggage) and I swore you said Budget but then when you said Hertz, I thought, hmmmm, must have gotten it wrong....:goodvibes

Ahhhhh....it's all coming back to me now! Actually I remembered about sharing the taxi...just forgot WHICH LISA! Time to organize my notes, don't ya think? :rolleyes1

.

What colour did you get?

Just a quick question before we all head off for the cruise

When will the last time be that you will check the newsgroup before you head off?

I'll probably check just before we turn in early on May 8th (7 am flight out of Ottawa)

We got DD the orange.

We are leaving at 7:00am on the 7th, so our last check into the group will be on the evening of the 6th.

I'm sticking with my diggs at the GF... But I would have loved a discount...:rolleyes1
But you will love the Poly!!! :goodvibes

Would have loved a discount as well, but we have decided to stay with our original ressie at the Poly.

We stayed at AKL last time we cruised. That rate was tough to pass up.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Our clocks go forward tonight so I might be grumpy with John tomorrow!!!;)

But you'll be one hour 'closer' to all of us!

Well, it's tax day today (OK this weekend). Time to file electronically, do direct deposit and then send the refund to Disney Visa before the six months zero interest period expires. And it makes me happy to know that my kick-back from the 'currant occupant' will be directly deposited sooner than anticipated too. :thumbsup2

Have to buy my trip insurance this weekend, then I should be all done with the parts of the cruise that I can pre-pay. :cool1:

Now that my company is gone, I can start my 'cruise pile' in the TV room...time to dig all the stuff out of the closets and suitcases and see what needs to be supplemented (check expiration dates on medications, etc).

OH BY THE WAY.....have I mentioned I've lost FIVE pounds! I'm shooting for another 12 by cruise day. :thumbsup2

Time to go build an omlette, catch you later kids!
