I am reading.... I don't think any shaving should be done on the upper lip!

Things are going well here in the Philippines. It is HOT and HUMID! We did a tour of the city the other day. Took a hotel car and driver and had him take us to all the tourist spots. The American War cemetary was amazing. It was very much like Arlington. Driving around gave a new perspective of the city. We went from the area known as Millioniare row to areas that were more like third world. 7 days down, 11 more to go!!

Amy...sorry the weather is so humid. Sounds like you are getting to experience a bit more of the area than last time. Enjoy the rest of your trip.

Do you mean the day you arrive in Orlando? Are you staying at a hotel at the airport or at WDW? or at the port? I live between the airport and WDW, so I could help you out by taking you to the ABC liquor or to BJ's or walmart if you need some liquor.

Just let me know. Connie

Connie....Thank you so much for that offer! Lisa and I are going to do some researching and I'll PM you if we are in need of your help! Thank you....that is a great offer.

When I was with the DIS group in December 06 the Hummerzine stopped at a Publix closer to WDW then PC and there was a very large wine and liquor section there. I mean very large, almost as large as the liquor stores here in Ontario. And our stores are government run and about 75,000 square feet.

Pj

Thanks PJ! I'll talk to the limo company and see what store they go to...each one seems to go to different stores.

I am sending out a general plea. If anyone has room for one more person (me!) for any of the Palo brunches or dinners, please pencil me in. Even if this occurs after the cruise begins. I booked just a little over a week ago and I don't have hopes of booking this and even if I could, I would feel silly going alone. I am currently sleeping in the lifeboats, lol, but if you want to add me to your maybe list, when I get a room number, I will pm it to you. If everything else fails, I am going to try to get a table for two for something and invite anyone who wants to join me for a meal at Palo.

Tammy

Hmmmm. I've also 'volunteered' to be a seat filler at any Palo experience! Maybe we could have a section on the mini-navigator with our names and room numbers (whenenver that happens!), then if anyone has a member of their party decide at the last minute not to go, a seat filler is only a phone call away! Our motto, "No chair goes unoccupied at Palo!"

Jackie - don't be so tough on yourself. If it was me, I'd just call it a senior moment.

Woody

That's usually what I do call it. But had you seen me on the Hertz website trying to pull up my Budget reservation number....well, that was pretty dim. :lmao:

.

We can take 2 big suitcases each this time and I am still worried I won't get everything in! More 'dressier' things for the cruise will make a difference. Seem to need more toiletries and 'just in case' items too.:confused3

We have a friend we went on a week's holiday with once, and she managed one suitcase with about 15Kg(33lbs app). But she had one pair of shorts, a couple of tees, 3 bathing costumes and 7 dressy items for meals out!!! I had a full 21Kg allowance(46ish lbs) and had loads of tees, shorts etc and a couple of dressier items.:confused3

I have been looking at what I am going to pack. I think I am going to end up with a very boring wardrobe.

Shorts- white, black, khaki, and navy blue (maybe)
Pants- black, linen color
skirt-black, white
cropped pants- white
Semi Formal dress
2 Formal dress

Tops will be one area of color. Mexican theme, pirate theme, tropical theme
Green linen, light blue stripe, coral, white, light blue pattern, blue and green checked.

If it weren't for the newly purchased coral top, I'ld be in a blue and green rut.

Well at least everything tones!!! I am terrible for buying new clothes I like and don't think about whether I have anything to wear them with! A complete mish-mash.:lmao:

Here is another magnet.

This one is for Tigger137:

Thank you Ken. :flower3:

:laundy: I LOVE your packing list! Don't forget your 2 swimsuits and coverups, because THAT is what you will be living in 50% of the time!
That way, to do laundry, you just jimp in the pool!:laundy:

DGD is much better. We expect she will be discharged from the hospital this morning. We visited with her yesterday and she felt well enough to go to the art session they have for the hospitalized children. She spent almost and hour and a half there before she got too tired and needed to go back to her room and rest. We all did some paintings with her.

Just goes to show that life can be short so you should enjoy every day like it might be the last.

I'm sorry that you have lost your friend, Steve. :grouphug:

And I agree wholeheartedly with your words.

I began to think that way 13 years ago when my DM died, aged 63. I was so glad she'd taken the opportunity to enjoy life, particularly several WDW and other vacations in her last few years, instead of waiting for a 'later' which never came.
This thinking was reinforced when my DSis died suddenly last year, aged 55.
And now even more so, with my DBro now having died at 53, after a lengthy illness.

I'll worry about tomorrow if it comes, but enjoy today while it's here.

But don't swallow any water from the previous pool user's washing!!!:rotfl:

That is really great news Angie. She seems to have had excellent treatment and care.

You have been through so many losses there Mary, so sad.

Oh, and by the way............
42 days

If anyone happens to be counting.

And just think, in 12 or 15, we may know where we are sleeping! :cheer2:

Well, I've done three loads of wash, cooked and eaten a lovely breakfast (mushroom, cheese, cilantro omlette), talked to my sister on the phone for ONE HOUR and basically avoided starting any taxes. At least if I'm doing some other chores, it's not so bad, eh? I have to wash and iron the new dining room chair covers too...another good delaying tactic.

.....just trying to stay away from trip reports.......

.

Just a quick question before we all head off for the cruise

When will the last time be that you will check the newsgroup before you head off?

I'll probably check just before we turn in early on May 8th (7 am flight out of Ottawa)

On Tuesday 6th, just before I check in online for our flight on the 7th and we head off to the airport.

The other day I started to worry a little, thinking to myself, how on earth will I catch up with the Thieves thread after 3 weeks away! :lmao: Then I remembered ...... :rolleyes1

Mary -    I'm sorry that Tim has lost his battle but am thankful he's no longer suffering. Please let me know if there is ANYTHING I can do for you. (PATRICK - please give Mary the hug that I would love to be able to give personally).

  :flower3:

HA HA, isn't that the truth. So what are ya doing besides sitting at the computer:surfweb: ? I'm doing boot camp tomorrow at 10:30am...this completes week three for me!
that is so awesome you stuck with it :thumbsup2 I started to go to the gym making it maybe twice a week for about a month and its been a month since I've gone back:headache: Its amazing how things come up then I got sick then spring break now I don't have the energy or desire to go back. I feel like I don't have the time and there is so much to do especially since this cruise is around the corner and I still have so much to do(rent cars FL, CA, hotel FL park tix etc...:scared1: oh and finish packing )I know excuses:sad2: Awesome job sticking with it and doing it:thumbsup2

I'm watching the end of Overboard? The old movie with Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell....love that movie for some reason. I did pilates this am and will try and get in a workout again tomorrow. You are kicking butt at the boot camp thing! Good Job!:goodvibes

Jackie-thanks for reposting the info. still need to book our rental car:sad2:

We can take 2 big suitcases each this time and I am still worried I won't get everything in!

Marilyn, are you still in denial about being able to take THREE cases each? Or are you just too scared to mention it to John?! :lmao:

From the VS (Virgin Atlantic, not Victoria's Secret ;) ) website:

"Upper Class Baggage Allowance. Three pieces of luggage per passenger, each weighing up to 32kg (70lbs). When added together, the three dimensions of any piece of luggage must not exceed 158cm (62in)."
Not forgetting:

"Upper Class passengers may take two pieces of hand baggage onboard. Individual dimensions not to exceed 23 x 36 x 56cm, (approx 9 x 14 x 22 inches) and 17lb/8kg in weight."
and:

"In addition to the cabin baggage allowance, the following personal items may be carried on board:

A handbag, pocketbook or purse i.e. which is appropriate to normal travelling dress and is not being used as a container for the transportation of articles which could otherwise be regarded as baggage.
An overcoat or wrap.
An umbrella (pointed or/and sharp prohibited) or walking stick.
A small camera and/or pair of binoculars.
A reasonable amount of reading matter for the flight.
Infants food for consumption in flight.
A small amount of duty free goods."

Personally, I'm determined to take absolutely everything, just because I can. :rotfl2: But DH won't let me, on the grounds that he has to carry it ...... so unfair.
