41 pages to catch up on, so I'll have to wait and catch up tonight after work. Might read a couple pages on and off during the day, but very busy, so might not be able to. Plus I have to leave early anyway for the IEP meeting at Tyler's school. :yay:

I'm glad this has happened so quickly. He's been in trouble at school every day this week. My phone call today at work informed me that he smashed his friend in between the wall and a puppet stage. Then about 1/2 hour later he cut his own hair. I know all kids cut their hair, so I don't care about that, but am sad that he had 2 incidents in one day. :sad2:

The OT yesterday was the 3rd Dr. to mention meds. She says from her experience in treating lots of different kids over 20 + years, she feels Tyler needs a combination of OT, behavioral therapy, and meds....all three in order to get the help he needs. She feels that in his current state, he won't make it past the first month of 1st grade. :scared:

And of course, I'm sure you all guessed, his dad still doesn't buy it. I can understand if all 3 doctors were telling us something different, but to have ALL THREE tell us the same thing.....what does the man need? A NEON SIGN? :headache:

sorry to vent, I know we all have kid issues, so I don't mean to blabber about stuff many others deal with just fine. just venting here. Stressed after arguing with his dad about this last night. :guilty:

wow Holly, hope all goes well and Tyler can start to be on the mend quickly. I am glad the school is moving forward for you all.

I can't see the keyboard on my laptop at night....that's why everything comes out jumbled!

Thanks, but now I need somebody to come kick his dad in the you-know-what. I've asked school to start calling him for every incident, every day, like they do with me, so he can see that this doesn't just go away. He seems to think if he doesn't hear of anything funky going on, that Tyler's "getting better" or "coming around". He doesn't get that this will never just go away. Idiot.

Sorry....not nice of me.

I always think of you when I see anything mentioning a Turtle, and think of Venetia (and her mom) when I see a butterfly.

I think of Venetia and her mom everytime I see a butterfly too!!!

And you know how I'm just mad about turtles!!!:cutie:

Deb - there is a quote on our board here at work today....and when I read it I thought of you......

Try to be like a TURTLE - at ease in your own shell :-)

I really like this quote, too many people aren't at this point in their lives and will never get there.

I used to live in Burke - graduated from Lake Braddock. Then lived on the MD side, and now I live by the Mouse.

Well, this thread just gets smaller and smaller - I graduated from W. Springfield High (79) and went to Lake Braddock for other classes over 3 years. WOW!!!! When were you there?

Funny! There is a girl at the Animation Gallery in the Studios who graduated from Robinson...she's in the college program right now. Her mom lives in Burke. My partner graduated from Lake Braddock in '83. His mom was one of the people held hostage at the school way back when.

Always a small world--we'll see who we run into at the ports. Always seem to find someone I know but didn't know they were going to be there. Let's just try not keep everyone alive and well while on the seas...too sad to have those bad things happen on vacation!

OOPs I thought you'd be in LA, I'll be in Culver City that morning!

It's all LA to me!?! But no, we will be in Disneyland!

Wow, you went to school with my sister who started at LB and then graduated at WS in 87. OMG what a small world. She was going on this cruise and then had to back out. too bad.

So Cool.....such a small world.

Vent away.....and if it's any comfort.....I agree with you. Is his father aware of all the incidences at school? I don't understand why he won't at least try the meds and see if there's any improvement along with the other therapies. Stubborn man!

Well it has been a while since I have been on the boards. My DH Grandfather took a nasty spill down some steps and lay there for a few hours until he could crawl to help. We have been sitting with him at the hospital and rehab for the last few weeks. He is home now and on the mend! Thank God for that.

I am now back to mostly lurking trying to catch on to the thread. It moves so quickly and has so many people who are very close. I envy that. I never seem to catch up.

Has everyone gotten their staterooms yet?
What about after cruise plans?
Any news on guest speakers or entertainment?

I am getting so excited and ready to go!

To everyone that needs it here is a huge :grouphug:

I hope everyone is doing well, and God bless all of you.
