Well it has been a while since I have been on the boards. My DH Grandfather took a nasty spill down some steps and lay there for a few hours until he could crawl to help. We have been sitting with him at the hospital and rehab for the last few weeks. He is home now and on the mend! Thank God for that.

I am now back to mostly lurking trying to catch on to the thread. It moves so quickly and has so many people who are very close. I envy that. I never seem to catch up.

Has everyone gotten their staterooms yet?
What about after cruise plans?
Any news on guest speakers or entertainment?

I am getting so excited and ready to go!

To everyone that needs it here is a huge :grouphug:

I hope everyone is doing well, and God bless all of you.

Kristie

so sorry to hear about your grandfather. Hope he gets better soon.

Just jump in on the thread, we don't know any entertainers at this point and I think there are quite a few of us staying after the cruise.

Most gty have not received their staterooms numbers yet.

Hi Everyone, I am still alive, just running my kishka's off. I think I am now about 200 pages behind on this thread so if anything interesting has happened or there is something I should know about, please pm me with the details or the page # for me to look up.

Holly, Your ex may never see the course that you must take to help Tyler. Mine never did and I finally just had to tell her "either get with the program or get out of my way!" Bottomline is do what you need to do for your son. You have my support and if you ever have any questions I can help with, PM me.

Ok, I am off to work again and I hope by the weekend I can try to catch up. Wait until you see the boys in their new suits on the curise! WOW!

Thanks, but now I need somebody to come kick his dad in the you-know-what. I've asked school to start calling him for every incident, every day, like they do with me, so he can see that this doesn't just go away. He seems to think if he doesn't hear of anything funky going on, that Tyler's "getting better" or "coming around". He doesn't get that this will never just go away. Idiot.

Sorry....not nice of me.

This has nothing at all to do with you not being nice (which is so NOT the case anyways)....this has everything to do with what Tyler needs - and if 3 drs say he needs meds....then....he needs meds (and trust me, I'm not one to rush to put anyone on meds, let alone kids--we are a society of over medicated kids IMO). Maybe if the school does contact your ex after every incident then your ex will "see the light". If not, maybe Ian "knows someone" as he lives in Chicago :lmao:

Hang in there

About ordering the "Order of the Ditch".

Have you, or are you, ordering blank or personalized?

Funny! There is a girl at the Animation Gallery in the Studios who graduated from Robinson...she's in the college program right now. Her mom lives in Burke. My partner graduated from Lake Braddock in '83. His mom was one of the people held hostage at the school way back when.
Always a small world--we'll see who we run into at the ports. Always seem to find someone I know but didn't know they were going to be there. Let's just try not keep everyone alive and well while on the seas...too sad to have those bad things happen on vacation!

It IS a small world! I lived on the line btwn Robinson country and LBSS country - if I had lived 1 street over I'd have gone to Robinson.

Wow - I remember hearing about that situation.

Kristie - so glad DH Grandfather is doing better - and it's been great that you've been able to spend the time w/ him at the hospital/rehab place. I know that meant the world to him, and that along w/ prayers helped him get to where he is now. :grouphug: :grouphug: to you too!

I think we're all ready to go (I definately am--except I still need to get pants hemmed, 1 dress altered and packing to do :scared1: )!

Just continue to jump right on in...comment on what ever you want to, and you'll be fine and one of the family!

41 pages to catch up on, so I'll have to wait and catch up tonight after work. Might read a couple pages on and off during the day, but very busy, so might not be able to. Plus I have to leave early anyway for the IEP meeting at Tyler's school. :yay:

I'm glad this has happened so quickly. He's been in trouble at school every day this week. My phone call today at work informed me that he smashed his friend in between the wall and a puppet stage. Then about 1/2 hour later he cut his own hair. I know all kids cut their hair, so I don't care about that, but am sad that he had 2 incidents in one day. :sad2:

The OT yesterday was the 3rd Dr. to mention meds. She says from her experience in treating lots of different kids over 20 + years, she feels Tyler needs a combination of OT, behavioral therapy, and meds....all three in order to get the help he needs. She feels that in his current state, he won't make it past the first month of 1st grade. :scared:

And of course, I'm sure you all guessed, his dad still doesn't buy it. I can understand if all 3 doctors were telling us something different, but to have ALL THREE tell us the same thing.....what does the man need? A NEON SIGN? :headache:

sorry to vent, I know we all have kid issues, so I don't mean to blabber about stuff many others deal with just fine. just venting here. Stressed after arguing with his dad about this last night. :guilty:

Some men just seem blinkered to what is in front of them. You have enough stress without him causing you more.

someone remind me to go to bed tonight.

last time I tried that I got my face slapped :rotfl2:

:lmao: :lmao:

Don't worry about seeming 'not nice' as he needs telling good and proper!! It is a good idea to get the school to let him know when Tyler is having problems. He could also do with a personalised letter from all 3 doctors are the treatment.

Some one posted menus from the recent Western. YUMMY
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1777387

The person who posted them obviously does not understand our need for dessert menus!!! There is one menu I don't like anything there! Looks like it might be plain salmon with plain potato and plain veg!!

Sorry to hear about your grandfather, but good he is home and ok.

No stateroom here yet. We're getting impatient.:confused3

Love it!

.

That's more like it!

what is up with the shots? I thought the only shots needed would be flaming and drinkable?

omg, DH told me yesterday he's hoping for triplet boys.....I doubled up on the pill!

:confused3 bird watching?

you haven't seen a game since 1994?

All of these comments are funny. You have come through again.

I personalized except for the Captian's name, since I did not know it at the time. It does look really nice, I went with the modest version of the mermaids.

The company even put a handwritten note in the box wishing me a wonderful cruise.

You are jealous and rested!

now when I have to go through 20 + pages every morning just to keep up.....had I tried to catch up once a day.....I'd still be back on part 4:lmao:

Just curious for any of the 'left coasters'......Have you ever been to Legoland and what are your opinions of it.....That will be Liam's highlight of the whole vacation

Marilyn, I have done the mix and match entree before, I think I asked for the plain salmon, then the brussels (baby cabbage) from another dish and the potatoe from another dish. William was cool with it, but then I got a little too green to eat, but he was already to put it together for me.

Each child would actually be partnered up with someone else. The idea is that one child would be a Secret Mickey to another child, who in turn would be a Secret Mickey to another child and so on. Therefore, everyone would be enjoying the giving and receiving of gifts and would experience the excitement each day when they return to the cabin to find a card, gift, etc. has been left for them. This doesn't need to be expensive, could be as little as a dollar a day for each day on the cruise. It is simply the fun and magical moments for people giving and receiving gifts each day and to know that someone else on the cruise is thinking of you each day. Hope this clarifies the Secret Mickey event.

Come join the fun. Please PM me if you are interested.

I think the kids would like it but I do not have a fish extender. What can I do? I'm not doing the other gift thing because I can't even pack the clothes we need but I think the kids would like this. Also, do you send 15 gifts to the same person or a different kid everyday? I mean do you just buy 15 of the same thing or 15 different things?

We've never been, but I have a ton of friends who love it so much they buy annual passes. So, we will head down there after the trip.

At least you are not feeling like V is this morning while you are doing it! Sleep is better, in the long run!!!!!

How old is Liam? Legoland is really interactive. I don't think my kids like it when they were little but now Ethan (8) loves it and Brooke (5) is still a little young.

Sounds like each child gets one other child, then drops 8-15 small gifts/notes/crafts through out the cruise. I think there will be an exchange of info, ie. age, gender, basic interests(?).

Liam is 9 and not really into the motion rides...he inherited that from me...but he is really looking forward to the lego stores....

My son, Cameron (10), goes once a year on a homeschooling day (just a few dollars). He has enjoyed it the last couple of years. He was able to do more of the interactive type stuff. Your son should have a great time.
