Really impressed :worship: I would never attempt to do that to my sony in a million yes. I suppose the macBooks are more user friendly in that regard.

All the dress talk was us goofing a bit but we are planning a wig night. Any color but a natural one to dinner. Figure we will make themes for other nights onboard. :)

I think we should do it on a casual night... the wig won't go with my dress...

I just realized why I don't like them, they are dark meat. I like white meat. If it was a turkey breast I'd be all over it. And I'd race ya for the Dole Whip, but not the drink float kind, just the soft serve ice cream, and sour balls....I might have to test that one, we usually chomp on the goofy gummy burgers.

We have Dole Whips here all the time - well in the summer... we have a place that does the regular kinds...no floats...

That is about all I think about . . . with the way things have been at work, Amy is afraid the boss will tell me I can't go. I have not reminded him yet.

That's why I got all the info on Verizon. I want to assure him I can be always in touch, and will probably buy an internet package for the laptop on the ship so that I can receive and respond to email.

What did you find out about Verizon??
Lisa

Kaylee, Hi!! long time no talk to....how was Mexico??

Sorry you have to go to the IL's all day....sometimes that feels like such a long period of time...I always think of everything else I could be doing...
Lisa

Lisa:
Mexico was ok...too much drama (we went with 7 other couples) and it was too much time away from the girls. But, Scott and I enjoyed walking on the beach and relaxing in the sunshine! A few cruise ships pulled into Zih and all we could talk about was this cruise with the girls! I just downloaded the pics, maybe I'll post some later.

I have 2 Airport Expresses, I don't think they have USB ports, but it might be more economical to just get a new Airport base station. I already have a few USB drives, in addition to 1 or 2 Firewire drives.

.

Ian,

Airport Expresses do have USB ports, but they are only for printers. You can't hook up a hub to them either and I do not believe they work with Time Capsule - only the new Base stations.

Whether you just buy the Base station, or the Time Capsule Base station, either one can support and hook up additional drives now. However, they must be drives that hook up with USB - not firewire. Some drives do have both.

John, I'll be connected too much on this cruise I am sure. Although for my Mexico trip I didn't get paged as much as normal because I gently reminded my patients that there was a cost to calling me on vacation:goodvibes

I know our family is on major countdown mode...of course there is a ton between now and then, but on May 8 when I am getting the luggage into the car, I will be so excited!!!!

Quoting my own post here from several pages ago:

Also . . . some info that I think Lisa (Disneylover) may have posted before.

I called Verizon today about cell phone voice and data while on the cruise. There are some things you need to do if you want to be able to call when out of the country.

I have a Blackberry Pearl 8130.

For Verizon, these are the per minute charges where we are going:

DCL- Flat 2.49 per minute charge while ship is at sea

Aruba - 1.29 per minute

Panama - 1.49 per minute

Mexico - .99 per minute

For any of this, you have to enable international calling on the firmware of your phone. You call Verizon, and ask for it, then you have to do a firmware upgrade by dialing the firmware upgrade number that I wrote down at the office. There is no charge to enable this. He told me that there are no additional charges beyond the per minute charges I listed above.

You are only charged for actual airtime - no charge when you are called and the phone rings. You do get charged per minute when checking voicemail.

As to the data - the 8130 (Pearl) is not a World phone, so no Blackberry coverage outside of the US. There are Blackberries that have this, and there is a per minute or per day charge you can opt for.

Guess I will use the laptop for email.

His post was a few pages back and had a bit more info, but here is what I saved....

I think you listed all of the spots except for the Outlook. I think both Signals and the Outlook, and Cove Cafe an they all close fairly early.

To be honest, I have never been to any of the spots on the ship except for Cove Cafe for coffee, so I;m really looking forward to a "night out on the town." Plus, it is a sea day the next day, whcih is perfect.

.

And Sessions. Very nice, quiet piano bar. Maybe you will want to start there ---before you have too many shots and are having too much fun! :thumbsup2

Well, let's see. We can still take our alcohol in our carryon and we can still take a camera bag, a cpap machine, a laptop AND our daybag, even though they say one carry on. We can still ship to the port, just no food or drinks and the size and weight of the box has been clarified. Otherwise, much ado about what turned out to be a very small change.

I thought we could check in the alcohol with our bags and don't have to carry it on????

Please do post some pics! I've been looking out my window for hours just watching the snow fall nonstop. It started at 5 pm and hasn't stopped, so I'd be happy to see sunny photos of warm Mexico! My dad & stepmom brought their Jamaica pics to show me today, so I'm in the mood to see more warm pics! :goodvibes The just returned last week from one of those all-inclusive Sandals resorts in Jamaica...the one in Negril.

Hi everyone!!

Back from WDW last night and Vanessa did not RUN AWAY!! :goodvibes :goodvibes

A good time was had by all!! We did Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Magic, EPCOT and Typhoon Lagoon!! It waqs a very quick trip and I am exhausted. We drove down......and if I am not tired enough today we did DC...the Supreme Court, Capitol, White House, Jefferson Memorial, Reflecting Pool, Washington Momument, Lincoln Memorial, Library of Congress, Vietnam Wall, and WW2 Memorial. It was a beautiful day, sunny and 50 degrees.

I need to go back to work to REST!!

Tomorrow I am driving to Delaware to get my mom from my brother....that will be an all day trip.

So what have I missed?

Holly, why do you need a wig??:confused3 :confused3

We are having a theme night on the Magic where we will all wig out and wear a wig to dinner! So would you like to wear a wig with us? Early and late dining are invited to wig out only rule is it should not be a natural color. Many of us have bought green or pink and purple. :thumbsup2

I remember thinking you were going to be away from your girls for a long time. I am so nervous about this....I will be at a Natioanls Sales meeting for 4 days then home for 2 days and then on this trip for 15 days....and Don will have all three girls and I get the easy kid..(Daniel)

How were you without the girls...did they miss you? Did you call them??

I have the World Blackberry and I am hoping I can use it while away...this sounds very good for me...

I am bringing my laptop with me....you know my laptop would not work at the BOARDWALK this week. I was told there were so many people in Disney that the system could not handle all the people trying to connect....CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS??

Souynd familiar??

OK....I'm watching Dateline on NBC, a story about a murder. They talked about this accused murder and talked about the warning signs of his insanity and I thought I'd share one. I wasn't paying much attention until they mentioned "excessive listmaking"....supposedly a sign of a fragile mind ready to shatter under pressure. BEWARE all those excessive listmakers among us! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Your world WILL connect to the Blackberry network. If I remember correctly, the per day charge is $15. There is also an option of per minute, but I cannot remember the rate.
