Happy Easter Everyone!

We got up early, 7:30 am for the kids to see their baskets, then went back to bed until 11am. Nice morning :cloud9:

Now up and having coffee and breakfast and then over to my sister's, we are bringing the Honey Baked Ham. After lunch there we are all going BOWLING!!!!

Should be a fun Easter.

Opps, forgot the egg hunt will be at her house before lunch too!!!! I love her having the work and us having the fun :lmao: It's nice to have such a wonderful sister :goodvibes

Hope you all enjoy your day.:woohoo:

Nan

You could go to a tanning bed.

Great idea except that I could never do that.....they remind me of being in a coffin and I would get claustraphobic.....just not for me. I'll have to sit out by the pool in Cocoa Beach when we get there.

A room #!

EXACTLY!!! I ordered flowers in the room.....no room number. I ordered a black and white tux package for John.....no room number. I want to do magnets for the door......no room number. Don't these people know how inconvenient this is for us homeless people in the lifeboats. Come ON DCL get us a room number already.....we only have 6 weeks to go!!!! (and a couple of days coz we're leaving on the 8th).

Thought I was the only one who didn't like Cats!!!!

(Ok don't let my CATS here that :lmao: )

I saw it last month and didn't get it either... oh well.. and it was on Broadway for so many years!!!

Please let me know when iPhones start sprouting out there. I would prefer to have a wild iPhone instead of a Blackberry.
.

Yeah, but what would a wild iPhone pie taste like???

Besides cruisewear, I also need to buy a new piece of luggage...actually a large new piece of luggage. When my son flew out west in Nov I loaned him my large suitcase, they had planned on coming home for a visit before the cruise, but unfortunately that won't be happening. So, I need to replace it. I don't want to spend a fortune, but don't want it to fall apart after one or two trips either. Anyone have any brands they would recommend. My set is Swiss Army and I have had some issues with it, won't buy that brand again. Thanks!
Kathe

I get the Lands End luggage... a bit more expensive, but I haven't been able to kill mine yet (and if it does get broken, they fix it...) My luggage has been to more countries than I have!!! :rotfl2:

THANK YOU! And the same to you and everybody else. Happy Easter!

Same to you Holly!!! How was Pancakes????

Happy Easter everyone.

DH and I were chatting earlier about how we celebrate Easter differently in the UK and the US (in the non-religious sense).

We don't have a tradition of the Easter Bunny as a giver of gifts (well, not that I'm aware of). We do have bunnies as a symbol of Easter, but the natural, small, furry type, along with chicks. We don't do Easter baskets but instead have Easter eggs - an egg-shaped chocolate shell, often with candy inside or in the same box. When we were in the US last month I saw lots of Easter candy, but nothing that looked like our Easter eggs.

Yeah, it's amazing that we'll invent an invisible bunny to get more chocolate!!! (or in my case... PEEPS!!!)

Kelly sounds like fun. I almost bought Enchanted and 101 Dalmations last night but it was at Publix and they were 24.99 a pc and I knew I could get them cheaper elsewhere...I can't wait to see Enchanted!

Enchanted was really good. I think the girls will not only love the movie... they will love the music as well!!!

Tyler says Enchanted was really good. I want to see it too. :goodvibes

Get ready to make a dress out of your curtains!!!

Wow, a drive in! Here, they have all become gated communities.

Woody

Not here... we have 4 of them... mostly in farm fields... but I'm originally from Jersey and my family thinks its such a hoot to go to one!!! (that's not a 25 plex!!!)

My sister is going out to dinner... without me... but since she's in TX and I'm not...

The Queen Mum is cooking!!!

Happy Easter to the Royal Court!!!!

Holly, you were right...dinner was YUMMY! We ate early. Now I'm ready for a nap.

We're done with our cleaning....the house and the turtle tanks. John went up to CVS and brought back a chocolate bunny and peeps and jelly beans and chuckles. Now we have CANDY too. It's a good thing I'm stuffed from dinner so I won't overeat the candies.

The only thing left to do is water the plants......later......I think I'll just take a quick little cat nap on the couch.

Happy Birthday to Cork and Marilyn!!

Hope you ladies have a fabulous day!

Joseph - sorry I forgot to add my good wishes to you on your bday. Glad you had a good one!

HAPPY EASTER BIRTHDAYS:flower3: to everyone!

Has everyone already seen this?

EASTER

Easter is always the 1st Sunday after the 1st full moon after the Spring Equinox (which is March 20). This dating of Easter is based on the lunar calendar that Hebrew people used to identify Passover, which is why it moves around on our Roman calendar.

Based on the above, Easter can actually be one day earlier (March 22) but that is pretty rare.

Here's the interesting info. This year is the earliest Easter any of us will ever see the rest of our lives! And only the most elderly of our population have ever seen it this early (95 years old or above!). And none of us have ever, or will ever, see it a day earlier! Here's the facts:

1) The next time Easter will be this early (March 23) will be the year 2228 (220 years from now). The last time it was this early was 1913 (so if you're 95 or older, you are the only ones that were around for that!).

2) The next time it will be a day earlier, March 22, will be in the year 2285 (277 years from now). The last time it was on March 22 was 1818. So, no one alive today has or will ever see it any earlier than this year!

I believe these days we're called Jews. I'm not that old, but I don't ever recall us being called Hebrew people.

Perhaps speaking, reading, or writing Hebrew, but we are called Jews.

I used to work with a woman who always lowered her voice when she said Jew.

I told her she didn't have to lower her voice. We don't consider it a bad word.

It also refers to us in the past tense, "...Hebrew people used to identify Passover..." The Jewish lunar calendar is still very much alive and well, and we continue to use it to identify when Passover falls and when all of our holidays take place, when Shabbat begins and ends, the months of the year. It is very much present tense. We still exist.

Hi everyone!

I wanted to give you the heads up that you will be getting a pm about the bracelets this week. We figure this would be a great way to figure out who is part of the DIS and who we want to meet up with.

We need to know how many you want and the sizes.

There are 2 sizes to chose from -
adult (recommended for teens & adults) and youth (recommended for 12yrs & under).

They will be handed out at the DIS meets prior to the cruise (DTD, Fishlips, Hyatt MCO), and at the terminal. I don't think we're going to get them in on time to hand them out at the CA April meet - but that'll depend on how quickly we can get our responses back (Kelly/edna mode can you remind me when that will be?).

If you want them mailed to you that's fine, but we will require payment for the mailing.

Kohls was having a really good sale on luggage the last two weeks. A lot of the pieces were 50% off!

My DH has been using Berghaus luggage for years. It appears to be indestructible.

I'm a recent convert to Eagle Creek. It's extremely light and comes with a lifetime guarantee, so I'm expecting it to wear well.

Kathe, I picked up two pieces of Jansport luggage last year, love them. There is shop on the upper level of Markville Mall, and they have sister shop in Scarborough TC lower level by Sears.

I asked to pay cash for both of mine and paid no taxes, i think on the larger suit case I also got 10% off.

Find a store, be sure to call ahead and see if they have what you are looking for and the pricing, most only carry the backpacks.

Thank you for the suggestions :thumbsup2 Unfortunately, no Kohls stores here, and I don't like to shop on-line , I know, shocking isn't it V :scared1: :rotfl2:

ok, I am going to lay out~!

Now that's what I would like to be doing today if I lived in FL.....laying out and getting my tan started.
 NOW I get it! If it weren't for Deb's clarification, I was wondering, "lay out" where? On the couch for a nap? The whole sun thing didn't click. I haven't heard that term since back when I was a little kid and my mom and everybody's mom did that. Gee, my memory is shot! :lmao:
