I posted a while back about our Cafepress order but didn't see any responses.

Can I just ask - if you've ordered anything from Cafepress, was the spelling correct on the logo? I thought I'd seen that it had been corrected (as shown on the Ship of Thieves website), but ours wasn't. If we're all wearing badly spelled t-shirts, then fine. But I want to check in case it's an error by Cafepress.

We DEFINATELY need to sit together at dinner, and we can all wear the poorly spelled t shirts.!

Gin and tonics with lime :thumbsup2

I've always wanted to try a Mohito but I found out sugar is a main ingredient so I'd probably have to trade off an entire meals worth of carbs to have it :scared1:

I tried one once, it was way too minty and I asked for low mint and high lime.

So are you diving this trip? WE are......

Note to self - pack bathing suits...

No, I thought about it but decided not. I considered Aruba, but I've been to Bonaire twice and figured it'd be about the same. And I've been to La Paz twice before (which I really liked) but I think the water's going to be cold this time of year...blah, blah, blah. Do I sound whiny? ;) I just decided to keep it simple and not try to fit diving in with everything else.

Are you guys diving at each port?

Steph, sorry you are feeling bad..wish I could offer some chicken noddle soup or a hug, how about a virtual hug

did you just offer to off my DH? I'll keep that in my back pocket for a rainy day.:lmao:

I do grow tomatoes too, but the darn dog (the red one) picks them carefully off and eats them before we can get them for ourselves.

I just offered him a pillow!!! :rotfl2:

I think I'm just like you. If I can afford to not wake up and do nothing, I'll sleep all night and day.

If I were any lazier...I'd be in a coma!!!

I tried one once, it was way too minty and I asked for low mint and high lime.

& lots of BOOZE!!!

Sorry. We bring our own.:sad1: :guilty:
Carol

Rats! I almost bought some the last time I was at DL, just so I'd have them for the cruise, then I decided to be thrifty...

How early is early? I normally get up at about 4:30 every morning. Does anyone know how early is early and how late is late?

OMG...that's closer to my bedtime!

Do your laundry on the 3rd or 4th day because the 7th day is a zoo and you can't get in until the 10th day. Do laundry on port days, although many others have figured this out too. We do laundry at 2am, it works well for us.

That's a really good tip.

Location of laundry rooms: (Has this already been posted?)
Laundry rooms, Magic
Deck 2, opp 2096
Deck 6, adj 6588
Deck 7, opp 7590

4@washers & dryers

Actually my favorite drink is Vodka Gimlet.....just ice, vodka and a splash of Rose's Lime! mmmmm.....of course that's mostly sugar, too!

With regards to Lithium batteries I found this on the USA Today site:

The Department of Transportation has reissued its message — which apparently got lost in translation the first time around — regarding new restrictions on how batteries can be carried on airliners.

As of Jan. 1, travelers can no longer pack loose batteries (i.e. those not installed in electronic devices) in checked bags. However, unlimited loose batteries are allowed in carry-on bags, though the agency "strongly recommends" separating them in individual zippered bags or compartments if they aren't in their original packaging.

One exception: Passengers toting lithium batteries that have 8 to 25 grams of equivalent lithium content are limited to two uninstalled batteries in each carry-on. Most consumer electronic goods such as laptops, digital cameras and cellphones use batteries that fall far short of that content. The rule was implemented to reduce the risk of lithium battery fires.

Link is here:USA Today article

I found this on the site SafeTravel.dot.gov/index.html :

DOT’s rule on lithium batteries in air travel, which took effect on January 1, 2008, prohibits carriage of spare lithium batteries in checked baggage, such as large suitcases you hand over to the airline for handling. If you put a portable electronic device in checked baggage, you may still do so with the batteries installed in the device.

In carry-on baggage, you may still carry any number of some types of lithium batteries, such as the ones used in cell phones and most laptop computers, provided you take measures to protect terminals. You may also carry up to two more powerful batteries, within the limits described here.

Here is a link to a PDF file that covers the battery question on the FAA site.

Just realized my Eneloops are Nimh so I have no worries. If I bring any Lithium I'll just put them into the cameras and use the Nimh as the backups.

Well, unless I win the lottery, I won't have the fancy log home either!!! Probably a trailer or a cabin but access to one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever been on!!!

Did you ever go to the Tower Restaurant when you were there???
I was a teenager, staying at the camp of my best buddy's family. We swam, canoed, and hiked. The fact that they had a camp was amazing since we were middle class folks. There was no Lottery. No one ate out much in those days--keep in mind I am 59 so this happened in the mid 1960s. Mom's cooked dinners and Dad's cooked burgers on a grill.

I wonder if the Tower Restaurant is that old. Do you know?

:confused3 I am way behind--STILL--but working at catching up.:thumbsup2
Jan :earsgirl:

I HATE Aplets and Cotlets! My mom's old boyfriend used to send us those every year when we lived in Illinoia......thank goodness she moved to Florida, and so did we.......Chocolate anytime!

They looked gross to me too:scared1:

I know that the Tower was there in 1968...it's long gone, but oh how I once in a while get the taste for their pizza!!!

Did you ever go to Charlie Johns in Speculator or the Speculator Dept. Store? King of the Frosties or the Mountaineer??? How about the bowling alley?

OK I have gone commando many times but never once have I worn disposable undies. :rotfl2:

Just make sure that if you do go without.. that the paparazzi don't catch you!!! Wouldn't want you doing a Britney Spears!!!

To Angie:

You must have been here then. I was at Fashion Island for the torch

We lived in Anaheim at the time. Off La Palma between Euclid and Brookhurst. We caugth up with the runner (literally) in Norwalk. We happened to be right by where they exchanged and the fellow who had just finished his run was gracious enough to pose for photos with folks who wanted.

I always note how it comes in since the going out will be on my BIRTHDAY (okay one day after) so it's my special month to watch and see if it's true, and mostly it is...this year in like a lion (well windy as all get out) so nice as a lamb on my birthday I would suspect.

Oh, and speaking of weather. Pray for rain for me. The reports are that we will get a major dumping tonight and into the weekend, so there is hope that the little league all day event(s) will be postponed and Wilson will still get to race.

I have much to share about the Field Trip I went on today with Molly's class. We sailed out of Jack London Square, Oakland in a replica ship that first came around the Cape Horn The Lady Washingtonhttp://historicalseaport.org/web/index.html

I've got to get my pictures accessible between my laptop and desktop and start sharing them...

Wow the ship looks very cool! :thumbsup2 I may have to see about something like that for J and I . She is really into old ships.
