I thought we are in the same area now, aren't we? Northern CA should all be the same.

I shouldn't talk for Molly either, she doesn't care about the camera, ipod or DVD player, she wants the pewter dog.

What is the animal in your incentives? We have a black and white border collie. Maybe the incentives are done by service unit??? No that can't be right, they are ordered at our council level I know since I've handed them out before....

The incentives that are offered are totally up to the Girl Scout Council that offers them (award level, etc.) Also, there are two different bakers, Little Brownie and ABC, so they offer different incentives. THe council can choose which baker they use and they have a contract with that baker. The council purchases the incentives from the baker they use. In addition, they can decide which incentives to buy. We usually decide on what we are buying not too long after the completion of the sale that we are currently in. Most of the incentives you get, we actually purchase and sell in our Girl Scout Shop because we don't use most of the incentive program.

Deborah - I posted the parcel on my way home from work. Hopefully it should be with you in a few days, depending on Royal Mail. I hope your DS likes the hat and that it fits.

Speaking of Royal Mail. We had a parcel from Amazon yesterday, 3 books. Parcel wouldn't fit through the letterbox so the postman took the books out and posted them individually through the letterbox followed by the packaging! (He wrote on the packaging, "Packet damaged so posted", but Amazon's packaging is usually excellent. And if it was damaged, it should not have been taken out of the sorting office.) Not surprisingly, all 3 books suffered damage as they were shoved through a small letterbox and dropped 3 feet to the floor.

We have submitted a damages claim to Royal Mail. We let Amazon know, just in case Royal Mail tried to blame them. Amazon have immediately offered to either replace the books or refund our money, but I really don't see that it is their responsibility.

Just can't believe Royal Mail sometimes.

yup we've covered that topic a bit back, used to be 3 bakers and now there are only 2 for the whole country. Funny thing is that you can get different cookies and neighboring areas order different things.

There is a huge realignment happening in scouts, so it would seem that these local differences will wash out sooner than later.

Some of the realigning councils will continue to use the two different bakers until their contracts run out. Figure that one out! That will be a challenge.

Also, if you start asking, you will find cookies are different prices all over the country. With the realignment, I think you will see it start to level out more. We currently charge $3.50 per box.

So far I think our council is the only one I have seen that is NOT cumulative! We have the backpack, beach towel and light like you guys do but at different box levels.

I've been on a council cookie selection group before. You should see what the cookie comany offers as incentives. It is alot of different things and some of it alot more useful than stuffed animals and jewelry. It is up to each council to pick incentives and levels.

Well I can't believe that no one in this group has booked their shuttle from the port in LA as of yet.

So what time did everyone else book it for?

Marilyn and I are both requesting some assistance, please. Pretty please with smarties on top.... ;)

When we were looking for flights home, I looked on trip reports of the 2005 repo and Mexican cruises to see what time people disembarked and when we could expect to get to LAX. There seemed to be a great variation, from people who managed to disembark fairly quickly to others who didn't manage to get off the ship until late morning. :confused3 Unfortunately DCL don't have the same control as they do at their own terminal.

Did you come to any conclusions?

The last one on was the kid from utah. He sucked..hard core.... I thought he was the one to beat...he forgot lyrics! Geez...I guess the age caught up to

David has been sick all week with strep throat, and hadn't had rehearsal time from what I heard on our news last night at 10 p.m. I agree, it was his worse performance thus far.

I don't know yet. I have had 3 different vaccums. I have broken them all and none of them had great suction. So my mom is going to Rhyne's vaccums to get a real vaccum I think. Ours we have right now has 6 parts to clean and I hate that. It got good reviews but I hate it and it doesn't pick things up. It also stops on its own and a red light blinks cause its always clogged. Well the other day I was cleaning and got mad at it and accidently broke it. It still works but the plastic part holding the canister on broke off. I hate vaccums:rotfl: .

Get a Dyson. They're excellent. :thumbsup2

I have owned a lot of them myself and while I did love my crazy expensive Kirby I had before I think I like my latest one best. It is a Dyson. It is a bit lighter then the Kirby still heavier then some of the ultra lights out there of course. It is easy to use has few parts and dumping the canister is super easy. It has a trigger so I take the canister off with one hand walk to the trash and pull the trigger which makes the trap swing open dumping everything into the trash. That is cool cince I do not have to touch the mess falling out. I use it everyday and I still like it after a year.

See - what did I say?!

this should premier on board

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian
Release Date: May 16th, 2008
Distributors:Buena Vista Pictures

karl

I saw the preview when I went and saw College Roadtrip last weekend, looked at my calendar and thought, heck, we might be having an all nighter before entering the PC that morning. If they show the movie at midnight, at about 2:30 a.m. we could go camp out for our spot to enter the canal that morning!
I'll just grab a lounger and get a little shut eye on deck 10!

I have heard great thinks about Dysons but my current vaccun is made like a dyson and I hate it. It has a canister too and thats the part I broke. THe canister hardly ever opens on its own and I have to take out the filter b/c of the cat hair to empty it. The top part also comes off mine and it is too hard to clean. Also Ihave to empty it outside as it get every where. So I don't know if I shold get a Dyson or not. We are going to try a bunch at the stores and see. I think I am cursed when it comes to vaccums!

I just read the reviews for my vaccum and they all say get a Dyson instead. So which one is best and recommendations?

I have the Animal, because it has a brilliant tool for picking up animal hair. (Although we no longer have the cat :sad1: so that tool isn't used now.) I also have the handheld Dyson, which is very handy.

Remember, one of the challenges was we didn't come into port until daylight (even though there was little fan fare) and so luggage didn't start coming off the ship until after we pulled into port and there was a good two weeks worth of luggage for each person along with all that extra stuff we bought!

It was slower going through customs, but the luggage was the biggest hang up for people in the terminal who got off the ship, but apparently, their luggage hadn't!

We stopped in St Kitts on the 11 day Southern. We loved it! It is a beautiful, quite island. We went to a beach on our own and there were Monkey's running all over the beach. We even fed some wild Mongoose (pl?). Sugar plantations are abundant - guess that's why they produce such good rum (did I mention Brinleys Gold rum - it is yummy)!

I lived in St Kitts for a year when I was 15/16. Went to High School there, sat my 'O' levels there. It is beautiful and quiet. But in my day (1980s) pretty much everything was shipped in so the island often ran out of basics, including oil to fuel the power station so we often had power cuts. Milk and chocolate were rare commodities - in fact, we only got milk when the weekly flight from the US came in. To live and go to school there was certainly an experience!

The best part is that now that they both are over 21, so they can each bring back a bottle of spirits for me!:rotfl:

For the EB TransAtlantic they announced us and I was greeted with a drink too! WOO HOO free booze!

Spoken like a true military man! :thumbsup2

oh blimey, royal mail get worst nowaday. Two weeks ago my friend from usa send me a parcel for pins and small thing. I was waiting for it then I got a letter from Royal Mail to charged me for nearly 22 pounds. I have no idea why. I phoned up with the typetalk, they put phoned down, I get annoyed then I phoned up again to different department. I had to explained them about the parcel why they charged me. They won't tell me then they told me have to phone different department, I told them no because I already did it and they hung up. So they spoked to supervisior and told me that the charge had been dropped out:confused3 I contact my friend from usa, explained to her and asked her if she did weight it before send it to me. She told me that she did the weight and insurance too. Then I received it and it was nothing wrong with it as the parcel was light too:confused3 I was telling my friend and she said oh flaming royal mail mmm

Deb, I think they do a 2:30 or 3pm show for the cruise tours. At least I think I read that here on the thread somewhere way back when, and maybe on Cruise Critic as well. Any hey, you are with me, so just tell them you have to go where I go when I go.

Pj
OH, that's different then....well I'm going with PJ, where she goes when she goes, I'm going!
