Linda/Marr/PJ - Did you get this change? I was going to stop getting involved updating the fish teams if that is ok....teams can still PM to check to see if anyone has their idea for a gift though.

Thanks,
Lisa

I'm good. I've got that our team is on May 19 (Acapulco) and we have Seaulater, Mom323, Ginamarie and Cquick on our team.

The "gift" has been ordered and I am awaiting their arrival!

I have some practical questions about doing laundry on the ship.

We have only done 4-night cruises before, so this was never an issue.

Where are the machines located? Are there good times / bad times to do laundry? How late are the laundry rooms open?

We're only intending to pack for a week, and I'm hell bent about not over packing (he says, already planning on packing tails and a white dinner jacket).

So, any sudsy advice would be most appreciated.

I remember on the past PC cruise and the TA cruise that the laundry rooms started being used constantly from the moment people got on the ship until the time we got off. Alot of people had stayed at WDW before the cruise and so they immediately had laundry to do when they got on. I never really found a time when the washers and dryers weren't being used, (even in the middle of the night), but I would think that the useage might slow down when we are in port and everyone is off the ship.

If you are staying somewhere before getting on the ship and they have laundry facilities available, I would highly recommend doing your laundry before getting on the ship and then not worrying about it.

I also immediately send out my formal stuff for ironing only as soon as we get on the ship. The rest of my stuff, as I unpack I run down and iron it before I hang up and then everything is ready to wear.

I believe there are laundry rooms on deck 2, 6 and 7.

V,
How quick did you get your passport? Seemed really fast. Online it states mine is being processed now so I bet I'll get ours soon. DH already has his.

Also, a little woolite can help a lot - small items you can wash in your room and hang dry. I do not plan on doing ANY laundry on this cruise. A vacation and laundry do not go together in my humble opinion.

Oh, I forgot to mention I ALWAYS overpack clothes, hence why I won't need to do laundry.

I don't remember what floors the laundry is on, but I do remember how crowded it was. I ended up doing it around midnight. I do feel bad for the people located near the laundry room. It was always busy.

So we are home sick today. My daughter was sick tuesday and I started feeling bad last night. Needless to say it just passes back and forth here. Especially working at a school. Luckily we have friday off, so we'll be able to recover. I hate missing work because I'm the only one who does my job, so lots to catch up on!

Alrighty, nap time.

So needless to say I'm not really happy with the school right now. I'd like to know why they are using these "scooter boards" in a manner where 6 year olds (Grade 1's) are potentially running headfirst at each other? Does common sense not play a factor? I mean if it was out in the playground during recess I can understand it, but not in a supervised and supposedly "structured" class environment. And no it wasn't "freeplay", it apparently was a structured lesson of some sort.

Sorry, needed to vent a bit. I now return you to your regularly scheduled DISing ....

I remember those boards, we use to use them for a modified crab style soccer game way back in grade school. It was in our gym class as well. they are really slick and you can build up a lot of speed. I would have thought that in the last twenty odd years they would have stopped using them. Got to love the Canadian school systems.

So, today I discovered that my flight from oak to mco has dropped in price by $80.00 per ticket...OMG...so I call US Airways (or criminials as they have now been renamed by me) and it's a $100 per ticket change fee to get the lower fare. NOW, I read the contract and it states there is a $100 fee to change: flight, date or cancel....none of which I want to do, but they state that they have to "re-issue" the ticket and that is where the change come in. I did point out that my flight time has changed and they re-issued me a new tix then and didn't charge me $100 per tix. Oh, well...that was because we made the change. My next statemet...well you're making the change again, because YOU dropped the price, I didn't! So after an hour yelling at someone I am sure could care less..I just hung up! SO FRUSTRATING...that could have been my disneyland $$. SUX

On the other side..if anyone hasn't bought their tix...Oak to MCO overnight on the 7th...$99 per tix plus tax...not a bad price for one way!

I thought all airlines would refund if it was the same flight, time and class of seat. Don't they have to? I am booked on Southwest and when our flight fell in price I called, the rep looked it up online and then the next day the credit was there. :confused3

Southwest is the only Airline still doing this without charging a fee. Jetblue now charges $40 per ticket/person, they were the other no fee until this winter.

11 business days....!

I am so overpacking, but I don't care. I want to have anything and everything I need...and you know how young children have a tendancy to go through clothes!

I was counting the outfits the girls had just in their hanging bag....it's quite a bit!:scared1:

well, I guess I should edit that post...I am overpacking for the girls...me I have a cover up and two swimsuits...so far, nothing else fits!:(

I sent off my email and a letter to the refund department. Along with copy of the contract that states the change fee is for reissue due to date, flight cancellation..none of which I am doing. We'll see what happens...I know I won't be flying US Airways again after this. I still paid less at the time for exactly what I wanted compared to other airlines. I am holding on to this..and as surf said earlier...if I hadn't booked this flight, I probably would be paying more now. Murphys Law and all...

1 room is right next door to my room.....unless I can change it.

PS..the FLU sucks! especially when there's 2 of us sick...I want to be babied, I don't want to be the mommy today!

CBGB's definitely counts. It was one of those unknown places in East Village that suddenly became famous.

I used to hang out in the Village all the time. I have not been back for nearly 18 years. I'm sure it must have all changed by now.

I moved to Chicago in 1983. At first I went back to NY nearly every other weekend. Now, Chicago is my home (it should be after 25 years).

Actually, Chicago reminds me of Brooklyn, or what Brooklyn would have been had Manhattan not been there and Brooklyn continued to develop as a full city.

To me, Chicago looks a bit like Brooklyn and Chicagoan are sort of similar to Brooklynites.

Having never been to Chicago, you have painted a nice picture and I would love to visit someday......somehow I keep spending all my vacaction time and money on cruises though.....go figure!

How early is early? I normally get up at about 4:30 every morning. Does anyone know how early is early and how late is late?

Just DON'T wake ME up!!! :goodvibes

I think I'm going to not deal w/ that hassle and spend a bit of my obc and get the laundry service....I don't want to waste any time in the laundry room.

I am thinking I will do one load of unmentionables and the rest to the service. This will be my splurge.
