I have seen princesses on Formal nights, semi-formal nights, regulatr nights and boarding. She will not be out of place, bring them.

Thank yo so much. She has never been so adamant about anything. She went as far as to say that one dress hurt her and she cried until I took it off. So now I'm off to see it I can get a deal!

Molly and Wilson are in the front yard, Wilson is riding his bike, Molly comes running in the house, MOM some girls just picked our Tulips!!!

I go outside and see 2 girls riding away on their bikes and yell after them, and then see their parents walking out from behind DH's car. SHE HAS MY TULIPS IN HER HANDS!!!! Some people, the nerve :sad2:

I told her that those are our flowers and to give them back. She said "he (her husband/their father) told them not to pick them"

Who in their right mind picks flowers from their neighbors house without asking???

Ok, I'm taking a movie break (we are watching Iwo Jima) to show you the tulips this year, back in a minute.
Oh my gosh, what brats! :sad2:

Just checking in. I am beat.

We have gotten about 18 or so inches of snow in about 24 hours.

I cleared snow last night.

I cleared snow this morning.

I just cleared snow again.

The snow pile in front of my driveway from plowing is about six feet high.

I had to go into the office to manage a crisis plan for the stores - I got stuck dropping Sophia off at Grandma's. We are closing our stores three hours early tonight.

I got stuck picking Sophia UP at Grandma's.

Both times I had to get a shovel out of the trunk and spend a half hour digging out. If you stop on a side street, you are SOL, because they have only plowed the main roads, and cannot keep up with them.

I know this isn't Canada, but we have not seen this kind of snow in awhile. My snow blower can't pile it much higher on the side of the driveway, it is about 3 feet high and growing!

The only thing growing faster are the pages on this thread!
Oh my gosh, I've NEVER seen 18 inches of snow!!!!!!! The most I've ever seen was early this winter when we had 10-12 fall overnight. What a bummer for you to have to do all that shovelling. We haven't had snow for a very long time. It's all melted and we have that nasty brown grass scenery now.

Well, just think of all the exercise you're getting John! :duck:

Nan - love the tulips! We have tons of stuff in our yard....but one lady stole stole some lemons from DH's lemon tree....he was watering the yard at the time and he hosed her down!!!!!!

don't mess with any of his plants, ask, and yes, he will give you anything but steal.....

You missed all the fun Holly - we received about 8 inches of snow then 30 mile winds so then drifting snow. It is hard to rell when the snowing actually stops with winds like that. It started about 9AM yesterday and went for about 10-11 hours.

any camcorder opinions?

We opted for a Sony with a 40GB hard drive. We didn't want to keep swapping out disks and trying to keep track of them and keeping them straight and undamaged. It's a nice compact unit with up HD and up to 15 hrs of HD recording. It also does 4.0 mega pixel stills. The only draw back I can see is that it would require a MAC or PC to download to when full. That we have covered with a 250 MB travel drive for the MAC Book Pro.

Yesterday morning, when I left for work, there was NO snow at all. It had all melted. Look outside now, it looks like the North Pole!

I will take a picture and post later.

We had an awful week. One day we had freezing rain, and lots of trees lost branches. Power lines were down all over, and some did not have power for 48 hours. Then, it rained. Then we had a sunny day, and you were bombed by ice from trees as you drove around.

Then Friday came, and it still has not stopped snowing!

I loved that story Dennis. I hate when I miss stuff like this. I missed about 3 or 4 days of postings.
WOW! Crazy weather! I wish we had some bad weather coming just for the chance at a snow day. I know, I really can't afford to miss the hours from work, but would love an extra day with Tyler. We had so much fun last night and today, I hated to see it end tonight at bedtime. He even told me he was having such a fun day....and all we did was CLEAN almost nonstop. We did leave once to do a grocery store run, and later we had a break from cleaning and watched some boring Disney Princess video, but the rest was cleaning and organizing. Nutty kid! ;)

You should always carry a shovel in your trunk. And an axe and a collapsible bucket. (And a Monkey, if you're lucky.....:rotfl: )

...and a towel......

.

And a blanket, and some emergency rations (chocolate works well!) Ok, mowed the lawn, DrHug is out of the shower, off to the plumbing store.

& a flash light... a first aid kit...

(we can no longer fit in our cars!!!)

I'm here, but only popping in to say HI! Yesterday Tyler had a karate birthday party to go to for his best friend's birthday. Then we came home, had dinner, and he hit the hay. I was busy cleaning clutter out of my bedroom and boxing stuff up to post on freecycle.

Today, we've been CLEANING FOOLS! Tyler has gone into overdrive and his bedroom is almost all the way clean. He has boxed up SO much of his stuff and I just can't believe it! His motivation is because he wants new stuff for his birthday and I told him he won't get any presents unless we get rid of about half his stuff since he has too much. Whatever the motivation, that's fine with me!

So.....taking a quick break while he eats dinner, I'll be back to get caught up after he's in bed tonight. :)

You know Holly... I don't know why that motivation never works on ME????

We were GTY, and were assigned a room on Feb 24. I don't remember if anyone else posted a room assignment.

Joseph

Nope...you were the last name pulled out of the hat...

I don't think anybody else was assigned recently. I'm wondering if they are waiting for that Cat. 4 cabin to go first:confused3 at this point I'll take the haunted Cat. 4 room:upsidedow

& we'll hold a seance... who's bringing the drinks???

Dennis you've been very busy!!!:lmao:

Yeah... Dennis...how did you POSSIBLY beat out Angie???? I think you're talking to the ladies too much...:rotfl: & how did I only get 17????

We live in the middle of a pasture, so it is a constant battle with the rotten little critters. We used to have a great gopher getter cat, but he passed on and his brother is just way to old now to chase anything! Our son and nephew used to sit on the deck and try to shoot them with their 22 rifles when they were young, good practice, but not many gophers gone! :rolleyes1 :lmao:

This brings back memories of my dad and my best friends dad hunting groundhogs in upper PA. I don't know that they ever caught one - beer was involved and they got out of doing any other chores. It was fun to watch - we could see their progress through the pastures from the house (40 acres in upper PA).

Disregard, nevermind......Venetia just PM'd me with a great new suggestion.....we won't have to do any of the above. If anyone has any last minute changes, get in touch with Linda/seaulater and she will incorporate it into the mini Navs. I like this idea. It certainly makes everything a lot easier.

Linda, is this the way you are used to doing it? Please let us know from your experience what we should do. We're all kind of doing this for the first time and have no clue. We'd love to hear from you how you have handled last minute changes in the past. Should we even be concerned?
Deb,

The Mini Navigators are a great idea. I also think there should be a way to share cabin updates after the Mini Navs are printed. Cabins could change for a variety of reasons. For example, on one cruise we were upgraded after we left home and before we arrived at the port. I've read about families who had to change cabins because of plumbing or heating issues.

If we had a whiteboard on someone's door, updates could be posted. Also, any scheduling changes could be posted there, such as the time or location of the group DIS picture. Linda could say in the Mini Nav, "For updates, see the whiteboard at cabin ####."

Wow! You know, it's amazing how different the weather is for me because of how close we are. Aren't you only about 2 hours away from Lansing? You'd think I would have at least seen a few flakes falling. Crazy stuff.

are we over thinking the whole cabin thing? I have been on several cruises participating with DIS boarders and there are always cabin changes, always!

so what do camcorders run on now? not tapes?

Anywhere from $150 on up to the $1000 range depending on what kind of bells and whistles you want. A $400 to $500 price range will get you a very nice unit. It pays to shop on these and don't forget to check E-Bay when and if you decide on a brand and model.

Don't forget to add water for your car and water for the people - we live in the desert now...do you know it is impossible to find an ice scraper in this part of the country. We have to use a squeegee the mornings we have frost.
