OMG :scared1: The field I used to ride my horse in is now a GOLF COURSE!! I really gotta pop back down there next time I visit Chicago. Which reminds me....40th year High School reunion would be this year....why haven't they contacted me?????

.

Me too! I just commented to DrHug a few days ago about this being my 40 year reunion and I have heard nothing. :confused3 Maybe I will have to check out classmates.

I'm here, but only popping in to say HI! Yesterday Tyler had a karate birthday party to go to for his best friend's birthday. Then we came home, had dinner, and he hit the hay. I was busy cleaning clutter out of my bedroom and boxing stuff up to post on freecycle.

Today, we've been CLEANING FOOLS! Tyler has gone into overdrive and his bedroom is almost all the way clean. He has boxed up SO much of his stuff and I just can't believe it! His motivation is because he wants new stuff for his birthday and I told him he won't get any presents unless we get rid of about half his stuff since he has too much. Whatever the motivation, that's fine with me!

So.....taking a quick break while he eats dinner, I'll be back to get caught up after he's in bed tonight. :)

Feel freee to come out to CA and help!! :lmao:

Our flight got pushed back more! Not arriving now until 10:48pm on the 9th! Wow that is late. We will be some tired but happy folks on the morning of the 10th!

And it was a GREAT Comment. And I thank you for serving too. It is the best high ever.

Something happened to me just a little while ago that was a high also. It is so weird, because we have been on this subject; A couple came by our house earlier this afternoon, between DIS sessions, to buy our old English Pub Antique Piano. The llady and I were talking, and the subject of Veterans came up, by her. Well, her God Father is a Medal of Honor recipient from World War II. His name is SGT John D Hawk. She told me all about him and then she gave me one of the 100 Coins that was made for him by the Congressional Medal of Honor Sociery of America. She said she knew that he would want me to have it. WOW. I was blown away. WHAT an Honor that was. This coin is beautiful. What a wonderful day this has been. :cloud9:
Wow, what a great experience.....how cool! :goodvibes

Lisa, my flight was pushed back to MCO by another 30 minutes. My flight home is now 5 minutes sooner, we will see what happens as we get closer.

Oh man....I hadn't even viewed under satellite (I was just using map, which didn't reflect buildings)

Now....off to send someone a PM, as I think I accidentally moved them (apparently you can edit other peoples stuff :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: )

.

You can move us it you want. Montana, Missoula, East Missoula preferably! ;)

Wow! You know, it's amazing how different the weather is for me because of how close we are. Aren't you only about 2 hours away from Lansing? You'd think I would have at least seen a few flakes falling. Crazy stuff.

I have made it in less than 2 hours but I haven't been over that way in a few years. It is a straight shot on I-69.

Don't forget we get squalls due to lake effect that you are protected from since you are inland.

Back in my working days, I had Merry Maids come once a month. I used them for years--they were great!

Now, I'm my own Merry Maid (usually not so merry);)

My sister sent the MM to our house when we were getting ready to move... we were days away from the open house and mom and I were dead on our feet... I love my sister for that...

I'm going to get them in once a month to do the big stuff because I can no longer do it...

I moved Castaway Cay three times, lol.

Pj

Please put it back... I have a date there on May 11th...:goodvibes

I want a beach and one of these,

easy on the tequila.

Pj

I'll take your tequilla!!!

Oh my gosh, I've NEVER seen 18 inches of snow!!!!!!! The most I've ever seen was early this winter when we had 10-12 fall overnight. What a bummer for you to have to do all that shovelling. We haven't had snow for a very long time. It's all melted and we have that nasty brown grass scenery now.

Well, just think of all the exercise you're getting John! :duck:

Wow... last year on Valentines day we had 24 inches and on St. Pat's we had another foot... and snow showers in between... this year we can almost see the yard and I SO want spring!!!

Count me in (that is if you include your Nato Allies)

Sub-Lieutenant - Royal Canadian Navy - Steaming off Bermuda to assist in the Falkland's War - if needed

Oh they'll count anyone... I even asked it I could come and I've only ever been a girl scout!!!

Maybe because you're not hoping to receive cool firetruck/emergency vehicle playsets or GI Joe stuff or other awesome toys! :rotfl:

Oh...yeah... that had to be it... :goodvibes

Feel freee to come out to CA and help!! :lmao:
Hmmm.......well, at least it's warmer there, so that would be a good tradeoff! ;)

But seriously, we're only about 1/2 way towards where I'd like the house to look. I honestly let things slide for months and am finally motivated to just do it. It's amazing how many boxes of crap have gone away today and you wouldn't even know it by looking around. Sad, but we're making progress!

Just thought I would post some pictures from yesterday and today.

Our bird feeder being over run by Cardinals. Later I got mad because Grakels (big, ugly blackbirds) and red wing blackbirds moved in and took over.

The snow in our front yard was at least twice as high as Mickey.

And finally a couple taken of our back yard today. Thank goodness the sun is shining. It is supposed to be 50 and rain by Thursday.

Carol

Thanks for the beautiful pictures!!

Dennis you've been very busy!!!:lmao:

He was on a roll, wasn't he. Probably won't hear from him too much until next weekend.

Very true. And most of my family lives in Kalamazoo, so they get lake effect from the other side. Kzoo seems to be the cutoff point from that side, so I guess I'm in the lucky middle. :thumbsup2

Don't forget to add water for your car and water for the people - we live in the desert now...do you know it is impossible to find an ice scraper in this part of the country. We have to use a squeegee the mornings we have frost.

I know people that use credit cards or ATM cards if they don't have a scraper in the car.

Gatorfamily, check your email with your DDprincess:

OHIO has made our news with your weather!

Thanks.....I did something fun this afternoon.

My best friend took me to one of those "Dinner Done" places and I made 10 meals. It was really really fun and I made 10 meals in 2 hours. We ate one tonight Double Stack Beef Quesadillas YUMMY!!
Here is the others I made:

Chicken Cordon Blue
Chicken Saltimbocca with White Wine Sause
Pork Chops with Roasted Red Pepper Bruschetta
Crab Cakes
Filet of Salmon with orange Reduction
Honey Rosemary Chicken
Pork Roast with Creamy Mustard Sauce
Shirmp and Feta Orzo.

My tenth meal I took 4 sides....

I think this will take a lot of stress off at dinner time......
Lisa
Those places are such a wonderful idea. You, of all people, desperately needed something to take a bit of stress off, so I'm glad you did this! :thumbsup2 And it all sounds so yummy!
