Today our 4th and final bag arrived via UPS, shipped to us by DCL. If I had only known I would have bought more and gone over 50lbs.

I suspect that things were not quite smoothed out for DCL in LA when we arrived, considering that out of 4 bags, one was lost and one misdirected. I can only imagine this problem, multiplied by the number of passengers.

I'm sure they'll manage to smooth out the operation.

Now I have to see if the pin sets we bought are still in the bag.

Even for us, this is the longest unpacking process we've ever had! :rotfl:

I had rebooked the dummy date on the ship.

I spoke to our travel agent today. We are now confirmed on the September 12, 2009, 7-night cruise.

Anyone have any insights into a standard inside stateroom vs. a "sideways" stateroom?

so that is the solution, go on a 2 week cruise without them and they will learn all that we do around the house?!

HEY!! How fun would that be....you and me, Lisa, Lisa, Lisa (:rotfl2:), Jackie, Tammy, Lori, etc etc etc......how about it everyone!!

We never unpacked Daniel when he came home from college. So that is the job tonight......

Later everyone!!

I stayed in an sideways inside room on our first disney cruise and I LOVED it. It was perfect for 2 people. The bed was farthest away from the door, so if one was sleeping you could close the curtains and get ready on the couch or take a shower and you weren't walking back and forth across the bed. Hope that helps...

Thanks Steve. There will be photos, but I believe both of us will either be in jeans or shorts depending on the weather. This is sort of anticlimatic after 21 years.

We have however have discussed having a second, "fancier" ceremony in Chicago at my synagogue and are going to be meeting with my rabbi. I wish I could do all of it in Chicago, but unfortunately, Illinois is behind the times.

We could do it in California, perhaps a Disneyland wedding, but don't want to delay it any longer, so, Canada here we come.

I'll keep everyone posted if there is to be a second "formal" wedding. I like the idea of a chuppah (canopy) and stepping on the glasses.

A Disneyland wedding! Or even a CA wedding! I'm in! Just let me know when/where. How fun--a mini cruise reunion!

What was with that steak the first night? I had it too, and it wasn't good. Everything else was great. There were a couple of nights that I just didn't feel like eating and nothing looked particularly good those nights. I was just too worn out from our day's activities, I think. Never felt sick. The rest of the time I thought the food was quite good.

I don't know, but the rest of the food made up for it!

I also want to clarify my comment that "the food on our cruise was somewhat better than the last time I cruised". It could sound like I thought the food on my last cruise wasn't that good! Not so--I've always enjoyed the food on DCL and this time it was even better than before!:thumbsup2

Thanks Cheri for letting him know about the Single Rider....we felt like we were really "in the know!" With limited time in DL it was a nice time saver!!

I MISS EVERYONE AS WELL...but I think I am lucky to have come home to a houseful loving family who now realize how much I do around here....

Yeah! It's good to leave now and then so they don't take you for granted!

I made a yummy dinner tonight (I felt like V again!!) Spinach and ricotta stuffed chicken breasts, rice and salad. It was weird looking at my family instead of Kathe, Tammy, Jackie and Cheri.....

Yum! I'll be over to your house next, right after I go to V's!

The weather here in DC is wonderful right now....we ate on the back porch.

My brother brought back my mom today. She is a mess....She has taken so many anxiety drugs she is a total mess. It will take me a week to get her back in shape. I take her to the doctor tomorrow for her 6 week check up.

Hope your mom is better soon.

Welcome, Ian! I'm in one of the sideways staterooms. I've only seen pictures of them and read comments by others that they liked them. The agent on the ship said that if she had the choice between a regular 11 and a sideways 11, she'd take the sideways. Even though the # of sq. feet is the same, she said the sideways feels roomier. Maybe we'll be neighbors!:thumbsup2

Kathe already has her next 2 week booked, right Kathe? Which end of the Tortolla trip are you adding on to, before or after?

I'm out of the loop...what's the 2010 Japan plan exactly? Is it an Adventures by Disney trip? Cruise?:confused3

It's a rumor that DCL is taking the magic to japan in 2010...I'm sure I've perpetuated it by asking every single employee on board about it and letting people know I'd see them on the Japan repo...you know the one that will stop in hawaii...:rolleyes1
