John is renting a tux and taking a suit for semi formal and Palo's. He was wondering this week why he is taking a suit. I thought a tux might be too much for semi formal and Palo though.:confused3 If we end up cancelling Palo dinner then I guess he needn't take his suit. What do you think?

Rich rented the black and white combo tux. I thought he could wear the white jacket for semi formal night. John could wear the tux to both formal and semi formal nights.

Rich wore his sport coat to Palo, but most of the men were wearing dress shirts and ties.

We plan on sending things out for washing as well, except the unmentionables.

DH is renting a tux, He isn't sure he needs a sport coat.

Is anyone else that is bringing or renting a tux packing a sport coat?

I for one would not bring a sport coat. I personally don't see the point, but that is just me. I think that a nice pair of pants and a good casual shirt or tropical shirt are fine.

I know that some people allow themselves to be peer pressured for dressing up for Palo, I do not. I wear a pair of business casual pants, and a casual shirt, usually something I wear for work, or some tropical-esque shirt. Last time I went to Palo I wore a pair of closed sandals. I think of it as shabby Miami chic.

The way I look at it, it's my vacation and my dime. I am going to not dress like a slob, but be comfortable. My goal is to enjoy myself, enjoy my company and enjoy dinner.

We are packing tux. At first I had wanted to rent, but could not rent the type of tuxes I wanted, and I am not going to don a tuxedo unless it's what I want.

I opted to buy because it was cheaper than renting. So, we are bringing the tuxes with us, each one has 2 jackets, tails and a white dinner jacket.

Just keep in mind that we are treating the formal and semi-formal nights as the costume nights, and will be completely over-the-top.

We are not packing any sort of costume for the "party" nights. I can't be bothered.

I've been gathering for weeks, but won't pack till next weekend. I'm a bit overawed with the amount of stuff, and all the electrical things and cables look like they will fill a suitcase on their own!:scared1: Then of course my toiletries will fill another, a garment bag for suit, shirts and dresses, which leaves one bag for everything else. I need a lie down.

Isn't it amazing? The clothing are almost the simple part. It's everything else that is complicated!

You're not the first person who told me they were not sending their "smalls" out for laundering. Is there something I'm missing? Is someone going to steal my underwear? Is it going to appear in a stage production?

Ian,

I told him what you said and he's still bringing the sport coat. He says he want's variety.

He's a taurus, what can I do. :rotfl:

I don't get it either Ian. Clothes are clothes and it's no secret that I wear underwear. ;)

Well if mine were "smalls" I wouldn't have a problem. I just picture some laundry attendant holding up my "granny panties" and laughing their keister off. :rotfl2:

I thought we only stealing and freezing you underwear if you passed out aftet the "Shots around the Ship".

Noooooo, too funny!!!:lmao:

I just feel so bad for folks to be sorting through my 'smalls'.

I don't know some folks on the closed thread said they were going commando. :lmao:

I noticed that too!!!

Well finally caught up and now off to Safeway for grocery shopping.

We gave Best Buy cards and tee shirts from a famous place that is in my home town.

What are everyone's best suggestions for gifts for CM's?
I know this was discussed a couple of months ago, but I completely forgot about getting gifts for the non-tipped positions on the ship (i.e. CM's in the kids clubs). I think the most common suggestions were DVD's, Walmart gift cards, and food (candy). Does that sound about right?

"We were on the cruise end of October. During the storm the ship was diverted to Nassau instead of Castaway so we were in port with WOnder and Magic at same time in Nassau.

That was the Halloween Eastern, I was on the Magic and got some fairly cool pictures showing both ships.

ok a cruise question - anyone doing the dolphin thingy - my son really wants to do it but at 189 each is it something they will never forget? is it really worth $800 for us to do as a family?

Any thoughts?

of course if I do decide to do it I need to be drinking so I can use that as an excuse for booking it :cool1:

I've heard these things are great. I personally can't allow myself to book it when I go on a cruise as I can just go to Discovery Cove (when I have the $ for that).

Kelly, if only one song had been nominated from Enchanted, that one in particular, it would have won. Having three songs split the vote.

The only reason I am doing my own but sending the rest out is because I can get a lot in one load and save a little money - I plan on doing a load when we dock in Aruba as we are not doing excursions there - but if I get behind I will not hesitate to send them out.
