Hey kids, cruise business:

IF you are on one of the group BRUNCH lists and you had booked an on-line Palo DINNER, will you double check your reservations and make sure your DINNER is still there?

katypop and disneylover5 have both had their dinner reservation disappear. We don't know if this was the reason or if it has something to do with the change they made on the web site. What change your ask? When you now have 5 or more cabins linked for dining, each cabin has to be accessed with the different reservation numbers. In the old days, I could go on my reservation to book dining/excursions and all my tablemates would show up and I could book something and include them. Now that we are five cabins there is a red message that says each has to be done individually under the individual reservation numbers. It sitll shows MY dinner (I was the one who originally booked) but doesn't say for how many people or who those people are.

Kathe and Lisa are going to e-mail/call the Palo specialist tomrorrow to make sure she didn't delete their DINNER in error. Haven't heard from Cheri if her's is still listed or not...expect she'll be checking in later tonight.

it is 4' long 1' in height with groments for $34 ($44 with tax and shipping)

My only concern is that if you are wanting the webcam to be able to read it, 1 foot high may not be big enough for the web cam to pick up from that far away. The sign I made for the PC cruise in 2005 was 3 feet in height.

Ok I had a very bad day at work. I am available 2 days a week for a total of around 20 hours. Well next week is my last week of school and my manager scheduled me almost 40 hrs and 5 days without asking me. I told her I couldn't work that much and she said too bad you have to. I of coarse don't have to as that is not my availabilty. Well if I tell HR or her manager she will look for a way to get me HUGE trouble. Today she wouldn't look or talk to me.She wanted to write me up b/c I called in Monday. I haven't called in in months (I have worked her 7 years). Thanks goodness my best friend is also a manager and warned me.

I really want to get it fixed but she will punish me if I do. Our HR won't tell her but she will find out. She basically threatens us not to tell what she does to us. She tells us all the time she can fire us anytime she wants. Its getting really old so I am thinking on going over there either tomarrow or Fri and hope she doesn't see me talking to HR. Last time I talked to HR we all went as a group and she wrote the whole team up. Everyone quit but me and now all the new people are quitting too.

Thanks for letting me vent. I hope to talk to my best friend and her boyfriend (both managers) about what to do tomorrow.

Doesn't your company have a zero tolerance policy against retaliation? A manager can't and shouldn't get a way with that. If your HR department is worth anything, they should be able to deal with a manager like that. In my company, if one of our managers would retaliate against an employee like that, they would be gone in a heartbeat. What she is doing is called harassment. Ok, I'm done. I've been in HR too long I guess and things like this really get to me.

This reminds me, I got an email from ELF and they said the orders are going to be delayed because they had a lot of orders.

Afterwards she said it went well. She told me some of what was said and I think she did good. Some of her answers quite good.

However, tonight she was second guessing some of her answers. Which is typical when you have time to reflect.

They told her that they would let her know next week. So now it is just a matter of sitting back and waiting .... And getting ready for the trip! Having the trip to keep her mind off it will probably be a good thing.

I just wanted to let you know that I bought PSE yesterday and used your step by step instructions and they worked like a charm!! I was also excited because I work for a computer training company and they have classes on PSE. As am employee I can take the class for free!!! I'm so doing it.

Was it the Cafe Press or the Printfection? Just interested.

I started using Printfection because I ran into trouble with Cafe Press because my original Mouse Manager logo had "ears" on the M's. They said that ears on anything was a copyright infringement.

I switched to Printfection and have been happy with them.

We went to see Late Nite Catechism a couple of years ago (it's REALLY hysterical, especially if you grew up Catholic!) and the nun pointed out that, in addition to being upside down, you have to make sure that Joseph is facing your house. If you make a mistake, the house next door could sell instead!

About 18 years ago, when I was selling my condo, I was having no luck. I was threatening to get a statue of St. Joseph and bury it upside down in front of the condo if it, didn't sell soon, and I''m Jewish!

Fortunately I did not have to resort to Joe.

I was just wondering, because me and hubby are trying to get in touch with other people are too, so we can maybe brainstorm about what to do for the day and what to do with our baggage. Wondering if we could get a group rate for storage of the bags for the day. Would it be cheaper to rent a big car and put everyones in there? So worried if we hired an outside company that the bags wouldn't be returned, or worse, if they were with things missing!

Please pm me with ideas.

Any of you have 5 or more cabins linked for dining? Have you looked at your reservations/cruise plans lately? Apparently Cheri's dinner doesn't show up under her reservation now either.

Our flight leaves at 1:30 so we figure by the time we get back to the airport and get checked in we figure we will just have a couple of hours. Have you thought about a day room or even getting a room - especially if there is a nice group of you who can split the cost. Let the person who leaves latest to be the one getting the room - not really sure how viable that is because all hotels have different day room times, regulations but maybe even a day room and one night combo that will leave you in the same room all day?

Also maybe someone who is already is staying in a hotel near the airport for a flight out the next day will let you crash your luggage there?

I am so sorry

We are dealing with this. When Dad died, Mother's difficulties became more apparent. When he was sick they were still a unit but she was then the brawn and he was the brains.

When it got to the point that her decisions were not safe, she was not making good financial decisions and was getting lost, my brother moved into our childhood home to keep her in her own home longer. He wanted to be her primary caregiver--God bless him!!

Finally he was getting no quality sleep (he still does not think that is a good assessment) but his health was suffering--physical and mental. Mother is now in a special care center for Alzheimer's victims now which is only 12 miles away. He visits almost daily and takes her to appointments and on outings.

So sad to lose someone this way. Windows of recollection in the midst of times of confusion, lost words, illogical sentences, etc. Her train of thought jumps the track.

She was a "word smith", a walking thesaurus, a poet and a caregiver--she collected people and was amazingly supportive and nurturing. Now it is her turn to be cared for and it bugs her to pieces. Some of her anger and frustration in the early period was the inability to admit that she needed help. She never minded helping others, but does not want to need help.

Is your Mother living alone? Is she on any Alzheimer's meds?

I started to read your post and was thinking how did she know that was exactly what happened with us. You use the same terms that I use to describe my parents together towards his end. Brawn & brains.

So as to now, she lives in an apartment in a retirement "resort" she has meds delivered and she doesn't know it but her stove is unplugged, as she has meals there every lunch and dinner but doesn't eat there often, she uses her microwave. When and if she gets to not being able to care for herself we will move her to the assistanted living side of her place. We haven't done any
Alzheimer's meds in a while as when we did try them they didn't seem to show any value. And frankly when it is her time to go we just pray it is peaceful. She is ready. We are all willing to accept that for her behalf.
