Well, technically I am no longer an employment counsellor as I am now Operations Manager for an Employment Agency and have been for a few years. Part of my job is to be the IT department and to create, build and maintain our databases. This has mainy come about because I have always enjoyed computers.

My first computer was a Commodore 64. The first computer I worked with was a TRS 80 (Radio Shack special, nicknamed "Trash 80). I used to spend hours going on BBS' with a 1200 baud modem... Computers have always interested me - but as a hobby. I think if my work was based solely on computers I wouldn't like it. Right now, my work just kind of gives me ecuses to experiment with different things.

But in the end, my real job is to help people on welfare get jobs.

DrHug's first computer was one that you hooked to the TV and ran with a tape recorder. :confused3 He also has always been interested in them as a hobby.

I ordered that Digital Photo Library thing that was posted oooooooohh so long ago last night.

Waiting for new shorts and tops to come in, as well as my new 18-250mm lens, and the order from the site Ian set up.

Trying to remember what all I still need to buy.....feel like I'm forgetting something. I know I need to drop off 2 things to be altered. And of course need to buy some adult beverages to take with me. Anything else come to mind????:confused3

BTW - my 1st computer was also the Commodore 64

3 WEEKS FROM TOMORROW AND I'M ON VACATION!!!

My dad stopped smoking when I was little after watching his father suffer through lung cancer and die a painful death. It kills me to see my son smoking knowing what he is doing to his health. :sad2:

My Mom died of throat cancer 2 years ago...she smoked for 65+ years and was an alcoholic...the two biggest causes of throat cancer

I wish smokers could see a picture of her in her last days.....they would never smoke again (my brother and sisters stopped cold turkey!)

I am hoping that our stateroom neighbours are considerate...but with the new rules....that might be the only place to smoke....which will mean our veranda will be unusuable:mad:

Check the snopes urban legend page for more details. I have never heard of this and think it was dreamed up.....

According to Fr. Bill (our Catholic chaplain here at work) it came about because St Joseph prayed for a basilica (?? on the spelling and correct word, it has been awhile since Fr. Bill and I talked about this) and the funds for that came about. After he became a saint, folks started praying that he would intercede for them on real estate transactions and many felt they were successful in their endeavors and gave St Joseph credit. Now the pamphlet that came with my little St Joseph statue said we should make sure the house is in good repair, clear out any clutter, etc, etc.....DrHug laughed at me and said THAT is what will sell the house. However, hedging all my bets, St Joseph went into the flower bed in the yard, upside down, with a prayer.

That is just what I was thinking with having a starboard room.

As I have heard it in Chicago, you have to bury St. Joseph upside down in your yard.

We went to see Late Nite Catechism a couple of years ago (it's REALLY hysterical, especially if you grew up Catholic!) and the nun pointed out that, in addition to being upside down, you have to make sure that Joseph is facing your house. If you make a mistake, the house next door could sell instead!:rotfl: :rotfl:

I heard that you can buy fish weighing scales at the fishing dept. at Walmart to weigh your lugage with.......I need to buy one!

Connie

Good morning everyone. I have a luggage weigher. You are welcome to use it on the cruise. You can use your bathroom scale before you leave. We have done this and it works.

OOOH! I can't wait!!!!!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I missed this but I am happy too. I bought a pink dress for tropical night and it isn't really tropical. I was thinking of wearing it to the tasting as well. Is anyone else going to wear a dress?

I got a few packages last night...but nothing from DCL.

I got something I ordered from Amazon, something I won off ebay, plus a pkg that I'm transporting to the port for royalty :-)

This reminds me, I got an email from ELF and they said the orders are going to be delayed because they had a lot of orders.

OH NO, I'm talking to myself!

The tooth fairy came and left $3.00. Brooke was very happy. She said she wants to take me to Sizzler for lunch. This is really funny. We only go during the day because Jon is too good for Sizzler. Both of the kids love the bread and I love soup and salad so we go when they are off.
