I am having a terrible day. I am so happy that I will be getting on one of the best cruiseships in the world for one of the best adventures of a lifetime in about a month to get away from it all.

Hang in there. This will be an awesome cruise and a great break from everything for you and your children.

My heart goes out to you and we are keeping you in our prayers.

Take care, you can make it through this difficult time. :grouphug:

Someone asked about Frank today. Tomorrow he will have been out of the hospital for 1 week....I think that will be a record.

He is feeling a little better. The last hospital stay they changed all of his medication and I think this may be working better than any of the others. For you nurses, they have him on vacomicine (sp?) They say this is the last resort drug. I sure hope it works. He did go out to Starbucks with me and DH this morning....but he has slept most of the rest of the day. He is watching Game Show network all the time and he yells at the TV when the contestant makes a bad choice. DH and I laugh out loud. He is yelling at Lets Make A Deal and The Newlywed Game. :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Here he is just a few minutes ago with Goldie.

Lisa...I hope he continues to improve. It shows some spunk that he's yelling at the game shows!:thumbsup2

I like to humm "a dream is a wish your heart makes"... and think about the cruise.

Coming back on board the boards . .

Ok I have been MIA the last month or so (not really sure anyone noticed) but I am trying to get back in to the swing of things. I do not even want to try to catch up I am just going to jump in. Since my last visit . . .

Three of us have had strep throat

my hubby came home from Iraq for a visit

we found out he will be going back to Iraq after the cruise

we have continued working on our kitchen remodel

we have signed the contract to put in a swimming pool on the side of our hill :) which means retaining walls and such, and a well

Planned a trip to DC the first week in July

My daughter fell and broke her arm on Thursday and will have it casted on Monday

Found out Delta changed our flight so now we are getting in to Orlando 3 hours later and having to change planes (good thing it is not on the day of the cruise)

Found out Delta is restricting luggage to one checked piece per person unless you pay as of May 1 - no execptions but at least American is not so we can ship items to Orlando with a suitcase and check them coming back

Found out a friend has 4-6 months to live with cancer

And I still need to:

Make my ballroom skirt
Make our fish extender
make packing lists
order matching t-shirts
do my taxes
get down suit cases
decide on what we are wearing on the cruise
and lots more . . . . .

But this is a quick update - I know others have had some major things going on and I am keeping you in my prayers - I know others have bigger problems than me - I am blessed even with my bumps in the road . . .

Take care of yourself, Krisann.

We are on NWA who has restricted passengers to 1 bag each as of May 5 but our TA told us because we booked prior to March 29 it wouldn't apply to us. Sure hope she is right.

It was a great era and I'm glad to have been young during it so that I could experience it all. I don't think you could do that today without having problems.

Now that we're on the subject.....did anyone actually attend Woodstock in '69? I was still too young.....just 13. But I went back there for a reunion concert.....on the original site in Bethel NY. I think it was the 20 year reunion. I saw Melanie.....doing......I've got a brand new pair of roller skates....Later I went back with John to the 25 year reunion. Oh what fun! I think they still do the runion concerts, but I can't be certain. I'm talking about the ones on the original site, not the one they called Woodstock that was held in Saugerties and turned out to be a disaster.

I was 14 when Woodstock took place, but my brother who was 20, snuck away and hitched up to the festival.

Glad your dh got to come home!
Sorry he has to go back after the cruise.
Sorry about your dd's arm.
Really sorry about your friend.:grouphug:
Sounds like you are going to have a busy month ahead but it will be worth it!
Take care of yourself so you don't fall ill.

omg I - well we - are freaking out. It is storming bad here...llightining just struck twice diagonally across from our house and then in the empty lot in our backyard.....I have never seen this this close. yowser!

Yes she is correct - if you purchased your ticket before March 29th you are not included (our DC trip is on Northwest)

The issue I have with delta is they are not grandfathering anyone in - they do not care when you purchased - it is all about when you are flying - not when you purchased your ticket.

Let's just say that I don't do tubes, blood, or pain!

I am soooooooo with you on that one Gydell......they kept me heavily sedated because I puked at my reality!!!! And that's the truth!!!!!

For the past four years when I had to go see mom in ICU when she was so critical so many times......I couldn't look anywhere in the room at anything. I looked only into her eyes and saw only her face and that was hard enough. When I walked through to get to her, I kept my head down and only saw the floor. I've got it bad too. Must be some past life trauma for me too.

Tammy... Thoughts of this cruise are the only thing that gets me through those rough days!

I don't do well in these types of incidents. I have had to leave my child in the emergency room getting stitches in her head because I was going to pass out. Thank goodness my Mom was there at the time and stayed with my little girl. I just can't handle seeing my girls in pain and screaming.

Scott laughs at me, but I can't handle things like this either. He figures since I am a doctor, I should be the only to be involved, but no way...not when it comes to my own kids...I freak!!!!! But, I can calmly tell him everything to do and he will do it so we work great as a team.

Welcome back! Wow...what a few weeks you have had.

I hear you loud and clear Tammy!
John, I am sure you have updated already, but how are things with your brother?

I had not heard the Delta thing yet... I need to go check that out.

Kim

It is not on their web site but if you call you will find out - go and read the thread

Airline Charge for extra Bag May 1 2008

on the main cruise board and you will find out the info.

I have personally called the airline to verify.

stay safe V!

I am exhausted. It is 10:20pm here and I have been up since 5am. I just woke Frank up to give him his final meds for the night (and as a matter of fact, just gave my mom all the rest of her evening meds as well) and I am going to take a bath and go to bed.

I know you kids will chat it up tonight....I will just have to catch up in the morning.

Tomorrow is tax day and laundry day. It is supposed to pour rain here....
