Me too, only I'm the retired evil school nurse. This is my MSN Display photo

you look mean, I'm staying away from you.

Be afraid, be very afraid. ;)

My first concert was Madonna at the Bill Graham Civic Center in SF in 1984. . .
My first concert was Bob Dylan and the Band at the Forum in L.A.

My next one is Bruce Springsteen on Monday.

I remember my parents taking us to Lawry's for dinner when we were kids on vacation in Hermosa/Manhattan Beach (50's and 60's). Creamed spinach!!! yum!
Yum is right.

Cheri, did you ever have the creamed corn at Gulliver's? Double YUM!

. . . Just make sure you leave a note stating you want these to go to crew members otherwise they will end up in guest library. I know because I left some books in my cabin once. Went back on 2 months later and they were in guest library. When I asked, I was told that it would be best to leave a note stating whatever was left behind was meant for a crew member. May not be totally correct but won't hurt to leave a note. BTW, I know because I mark my books and that's how I knew it went upstairs instead of downstairs.
Items left in a cabin are always a concern for the room stewards -- did the guests forget to pack it, or do they not want it?

As for books, we hand delivered a shopping bag full of books and magazines to a manager, and said it was for the crew.

I once left a very nice suit behind with a note:
"I did not forget to pack this suit. I am leaving it behind. If you know someone who would like it, please give it away. Or please donate it to charity at one of the ports. [Followed by my name and cabin number]"

Ken,

You must have missed my arts and crafts show.

These are good (I booked marked it), but my suggestion was cheaper if not free. If you don't go the velcro route a glue stick work just fine with magnetic business cards cut in half or thirds.

I have a stack of magnetic business cards, that I've gotten from businesses (we're also throwing out old ones a my company with an out dated logo).

Doing it this way, the cost could be as high as, .05 for the velcro, or $1.50 for the glue stick.

I haven't allocated the cost of the paper.

.

Yeah, that would be cheaper, but I don't have any of those spare magnets. For some strange reason we don't seem to collect them. Not sure if it is because we don't get them as often or if we jsut don't keep them. Our fridge is full of Disney magnets, both the ones we made and ones we've bought.

Good morning all. 6:28am over here. Girls got up, and I bet you can now guess who lost with having to get up with them... so that equates to about 5 hours sleep. I can tell it is going to be a productive day for me today!! LOL Oh yeah, neither Shannon nor I drink coffee so this could be an interesting morning. But she's still asleep so who knows ...

Got plans today to take stuff to the recycling bin, order some new sunglasses and do some geocaching as I have a travelbug that I need to release to get it involved in a race and there is a cache Blitz going on right now in my neck of the woods. Plus, I think Shannon wants to get moving on some sewing, which usually means the girls and I get to be mannequins at different parts of the day. And then we want to start doing some packing to see exactly what we have in each of piles in the living room and make sure we have everything we need. Somewhere in there I thin kwe need to do a bit of housework and maybe even start in on the yardwork - gotta shovel the snow OFF the lawn now.

But first of all time to do some DISing while I wake up - or rather sit here in a bit of a daze...

For any of you that have them to spare, my brother could use some prayers his way . . .

He found out that he has a mass in his colon, and on Sunday he will have surgery to have part of his colon removed. While pathology results are not yet back, I think they are pretty sure it is cancer. The only question is whether or not it is localized or has spread, and whether or not it is treatable beyond the surgery. My brother is 5 years younger than me - only 42.

Tomorrow I'll be taking my dad to the hospital to see him - we have not told dad yet all that is going on.

Amy and I talked tonight, and we have had family illness and hardship follow us on our last cruises. My mom passed away the week of our last cruise with the Geeks, right before we left. We had a funeral and left the same day. Now my brother's illness, and I can only pray that they have caught it in time.

Thanks for letting me share. It has not been very happy around here lately, and my thoughts are with all the rest of you who have had family and friends illness and worse to deal with . . .

Good night everyone!

John1,  :grouphug: :grouphug: pixiedust: pixiedust: and lots of prayers to you, your brother and the rest of your family.

Maybe, but I love the steak he makes so much that I don't even order them at restaurants anymore because I'm always dissappointed even at Ruths steak house
:thumbsup2 Thanks PJ good to know...we really do like playing boardgames at our house our DK like playing chess and checkers...none of us know how to play backgammon though:sad2: DS tries to teach himself by playing people online seems good to me but don't know how to play.

I love Backgammon and would love to play with him if he would like.

Yes, but she's been twelve for thousands and thousands of days!

Here's a link to some photos of Peg's new pony. The lady in the pictures is his race trainer. She trains all her race horses for trail riding, says it keeps them sane! He's very sweet tempered.

I bet they don't allocate rooms on a Saturday so I won't look as often.

Yes, anything that is left behind is sent back to Celebration to DCL lost and found. I once got a frantic phone call from a guest who had left her most favorite pillow on the ship, and it was already boxed and ready to be mailed to her home by the time she called.

If you don't have a bunch of magnets to cut up and glue onto the corners of pictures, you can buy magnetic dots and strips and even rolls of it at Walmart of Michaels. And it already has the adhesive on it. The firrst year we cruised, we made pictures on the computer, printed them out on card stock or glossy paper, and stuck squared of magnets on the corners, it worked just fine!

Would it be OK if I possibly used this as a logo for the "Little Thieves Homework Club?"
:flower3:

Fine by me! I stole it from a website. As long as you leave the credit on there I think that it would be fine!

I thought it was adorable, but I have a collection of pictures with Mickey Mouse reading, so I am probably not impartial!
