oh, I don't think I posted about Tebow and him being a bad bad boy.....
I had our name magnets on the dining room table....they are like block letters with Jack Sparrow in John's Tink in Haley's etc. He helped himself to them and SHREDDED THEM ALL - well except for mine. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? He is in time out.

RUH ROH!!!

We shared a "Yak Attack" drink (yummy, but don't remember what was in it). Appetizers - me - steamed dumplings, Will - Pork egg rolls
Entree - we shared the Honey Chicken w/ Jasmine rice.

No dessert.

There are things there that I want to try next time.

Mmmmm...I can hardly wait..I'll have to check out that Yak Attack:rotfl:

We're going to play it by ear. I'd love to say yes to a meet, but it's my dd's 1st time at WDW and my 1st time in 20years! . . .
Steph -- Whatever works best for you is fine with us.

We've been to Epcot many, many times. So there are no "must see" rides or attractions for us. On prior cruises we found it nice to meet fellow cruisers and just chat while standing in line for rides.

I'm sure you'll have a great time at Epcot.

Ok - I must post this cuz I surprised myself by doing this....

I biked a total of 13 miles this week!! 2 on Tues, 3 on Wed, 4 on Thurs, and 4 today....I am so shocked! of course my feet hurt so I will need to address this w/ the dr the next time I see him (very close to tears it hurt so much but I had to finish). I don't think it's the shoes as I've tried 3 different pairs. :confused3 :confused3

:confused3 Caesarland?:confused3

I have visions of waiters and waitresses in togas, columns like Rome, mountains that errupt like Vesuvius and all meals a version of the Caesar salad.....:rotfl:

Jan :earsgirl:
:rotfl2: Nothing that exciting! It's an expanded Little Caesars Pizza restaurant that has a HUGE playland (more than just the tubes on the ceiling that Chuck E. Cheese has) and tons of video games and things to ride on. Very similar to Chuck E. Cheese, but without any characters.

Hi Woody,
I am going to AK in the AM and dining at Yak & Yeti at noon for lunch, new restaurant at AK so I would really like to check it out. I've read the food is so-so but the decor is supposed to be quite interesting, so I am looking forward to giving it a try. I will be going to Epcot after lunch, would love to meet up, so let me know what works for you and your DW
Hi Kathe,

As the time gets closer, let's exchange cell phone numbers so you can reach us when you get to Epcot.

We were at Epcot last November before our Eastern cruise. It was during the Food & Wine Festival (we went in 2006 and 2007), which is a nice opportunity to try a variety of new cuisines.

Mrs. Woody loves gardening, and is looking forward to the Flower and Garden Festival.

Looking forward hearing how you like Yak & Yeti. Mrs. Woody loves Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Great that you are doing so well. Take a day off and see if that helps. Hope the feet hold up!

Thanks Gydell - I hope the feet hold up too....I'm meeting my cousins from Argentina tomorrow at MGM (oops - sorry Disney Hollywood Studios).

So now guess what's happened. Poor Tyler just can't get a break. I shared this with Jan last night, but not here yet. It's not life threatening, but on top of everything else going on with Tyler at once, it just doesn't seem fair.

OK...I think I mentioned a while back that we found out that his vision has completely shifted in the last year from being very farsighted to very nearsighted, and we're waiting for his new lenses to come in. But wait, there's more. Towards the end of the week, I got a voice mail from the occupational therapist at Tyler's school telling me she's been evaluating him and strongly recommends private occupational therapy (in addition to the help they can give him at school) because he's very far behind on his fine motor skills and it has a major effect on trying to write, obviously. OK...his dad and I will work that out, she recommended some places locally (in a letter she sent home that day), we can take care of that.

But wait, there's more. Yesterday I got a letter from the county health department telling me they did THREE hearing tests on Tyler, one a week for three weeks (the multiples were to verify the poor readings), and he has a significant lack of hearing in his right ear. Like I said, not life threatening, but yet another trip to the doctor for follow up.

No wonder he's so frustrated when almost nothing works right on his body. :sad1: I know it could be worse...because he is VERY healthy..doesn't even get colds almost every (one a year at most), but so many things shouldn't be going wrong all at once.

I'm going to do my best, to make sure he has an awesome time on this cruise because he sure does deserve it with all this crap being thrown at him.

Holly,
You and Tyler have been through so much, but the one bright side is that knowledge is power, and now that you are getting this information, you can deal with things so much better. One of the worst things is not knowing what is wrong, and feeling so helpless. Once you have identified a problem, you can start planning the best way to deal with it. I agree with the other poster that you seem like a very strong person, and able to tackle whatever you have to do. Tyler is lucky to have a Mom that who does so much. Vicki

To Katypop and taysmom --

Before our original thread was "hidden," we were posting about meeting at Epcot the day before the cruise.

DW and I will be there Friday 5/9, and hope to see some of the International Garden and Flower Festival. Perhaps we could meet for lunch, or just a brief meet and greet. Looking forward to meeting you in person before the cruise!

Anyone else going to Epcot on Friday?

Woody

Daniel and I plan to be there....please add us to any plans for Friday!!
Thanks
Lisa

The link that LisaG520 posted should open in Windows Media Player. If you dont have WMP you can go here

This site should let you view.
I like using WMP because you can watch using the mini player feature and still DIS or whatever

Quite a few animals on right now. Wildebeast, zebras, and impalas.

Thank you!

Goodnight everybody! I plan on sleeping until noon tomorrow, but if I happen to wake up earlier, I'll be back here in the morning! Jewelry party at 2:00, and I want to try to find and repair Bobby's leak before the party so he can make it through the event. Yup, Bobby gets to be a jewelry model! (I can hear him whimpering over in the corner in fear).

:rotfl2:

Yup!

started before 7 am!!!:scared1: Might have been earlier, but that's when I went upstairs to see what was up and they were already handing out Champagne and Mimosas!! I said "not until I've had my coffee"!:thumbsup2

Had one later, around 11.:cool1:

They also had wine tasting that afternoon as we sailed through Gateau (sp) lake. It was great!!

Karen

It is the Gatún lake. Did they do "deck service" for breakfast on crossing day? I am just wondering how am I going to convince DH to bring the breakfast, lunch and dinner to the top deck on top of taking care of DD the entire day (he already agreed to the last part  )

Well I got some good news tonight. First let me tell you the before part:

When I had booked way back last January I had booked an extra cabin. I was going to be taking a friend and her daughter. Well in this past year our friendship has gone downhill and since I no longer feel the desire to pay her way she is no longer coming along. I had decided I would try to find a nanny to bring along to help with the kids.

Now I am super mom  at least I think I am so no I do not leave my kids EVER hence why I wanted someone along with my 4 year old so he was not left crying in the club while I tried to do an excursion with my 9 year old. Also so maybe after they are in bed I can escape to meet up with adults to chat and relax.

So long story here I know but any how tonight I got the call back I had been waiting for I have found my nanny! I was not going to use a service so I only asked girls I knew or very close family knew. The girl who is coming along is my brothers ex girlfriend. She is very sweet and great with my kids. My son kinda has a crush on her and gets all goofy when she is around.

I have done this on a lot of other trips that I have gone on. I am single and it is hard for me since I have a hard time finding friends who can travel when I want. My married friends can't just take off for a weekend let alone a week and my single friends usually can't afford to do anything especially if they have kids. So paying someone's way to tag along works well for me.

I am really happy now! I can do a couple things with my daughter I would have skipped and I can hang out with grown ups from time to time! :cool1:

 We have very good friends that ALWAYS bring their kids nanny on vacation, seriously it would be easier for them to forget one of their kids than their nanny :rotfl: so any vacation is relaxing for them, since they will drop the kids and the nanny at the hotel, rental home, etc., around 5 pm and will go shopping, out for dinner, to the spa, etc. then.

Ha I hadn't even thought of that! :lmao: Hmm you know honestly I bet she would not mind watching a child or two once in a while in the evening if the mom or dad were needing grown up time. Ok that sounds ALL WRONG but you know what I mean. Out and about on the ship grown up time. Or other things you cannot take your kids to. We are booked in catagory 9s and she has one all to herself. Plenty of room for a daycare :rotfl: Really sweet girl. She and my brother had dated through high school and part of the first year of college. She is really excited to be going, and I am excited I found someone to drag along!

Does she speak Spanish, will it be a bilingual daycare? (j/k)

We've never needed one but I can see why a single parent would. Going to bed at 8pm is not the best way to have fun on a cruise!

Oooohhh, I can hear ya. DH and I will take turns going out while the other stays with DD in the cabin, not fun to miss all the adult entertainment.

Ohhh I love coffee. I am a sucker for Starbucks type drinks. Can I also say I have never even seen any of the adult only areas of the ship before. NONE. Not even joking!

Believe me, you are not the only one.

I bet my 18 year old son would her to babysit him!!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I WON!

I WON! I WON! I WON!

I just got a call from House Party--I won one of the 4 night cruises--for 4, air included! (the host sweepstakes)

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW!! How wonderful!!! Congrats. That is just incredible!!

I am trying to catch up and figure out the whole change of thread situation. Is the old thread still available to read??? I'm a bit confused.

Also, we have some concern in our house right now regarding whether DH can leave his newly formed law firm for the 2 weeks in May. We were feeling pretty solid up until the holidays hit. As expected, it was pretty slow so the business wasn't as fruitful. Now, he is really worried about being away 2 weeks, even though he could see check email/phone etc.....I'm not sure what I would do if we had to cancel. I know I could still manage the fish teams but I can't imagine not celebrating my 40th on May 16th going through the Panama Canal...:( I want to be supportive of his business, especially since we of course need the income. But boy, I really, REALLY, never thought for a moment we wouldn't go...I am trying to tell him he probably will end up spending $$ on planning some party for my 40th....I guess his point it is more about being away than the $$...arghh...

Nan, how is your DH handling it?? Does he have attorneys in his firm that can hold down the fort? My DH just lost one attorney, and the other ones just work very little - not enough to take over..... I decided I'm going to start to play the lottery every day because if we become a multi-millionaire, then nothing would stop up! Cheri, I hope I get some of your luck!!!

Oh no! I definetly hope he can leave the firm those 2 weeks, but I do understand where he comes from. I work for my dad and I don´t know how will I leave the office for so long, I know that probably I will spend half the days that we are docked in Mexico on my cell phone or on the internet doing work related stuff. I just hope that I won´t have to get off in Acapulco and get back on in Los Cabos.

Sounds good :thumbsup2 I love Epcot during the Food & Wine Festival. I was there in Oct/07, went home on Nov02/07 so just missed you. It was my third trip that time of year. I went to WDW in April 2000 for the very first time, during the Flower and Garden Festival, and then again in 2002/03/04/05/06.Only missed last year because my DD was married in May:) I love Boma too! When this trip gets closer, hopefully we can arrange a meet :goodvibes

That's great news about the Hooked on Phonics! I've heard really great things about that program. There is hope for your ex after all:rotfl2:

So, did Bobby help model any of the jewelry?
Oh yes, Bobby was a GREAT model! I'm almost ready to upload to photobucket & post pics on Bobby's thread.

Wow, good for you Monica:cheer2: Sorry your feet are so sore though. This was the week I was going to start back at the gym, since my back is so much better, but that just didn't happen:guilty: Thursday was the 6th anniversary of losing my DH though, so I think I should have known I wouldn't feel like doing too much, hopefully next week:confused3
