I agree! Any info would be much appreciated!!!

I'm sure someone more expert than me will be able to respond better - but basically you get into a dining rotation that determines which dining room you go to each dine. APL means that the first night you go to Animators, second night Parrot Cay, and third night Lumineres. Fourth night Animators, fifth night Parrot Cay, etc.

So there are different rotations - I don't know them all. Some people like to plan certain rotations - most commonly to have formal in Lumineres as that is the fancy restaurant or perhaps plan to have Parrot Cay the night of the Pirate party. I think with 15 nights, any rotation would be great! It is a bummer I think for the shorter ones never to be in Lumineres when it is either semi-formal or formal.
Lisa

APL is the dining rotation that they are on...

Animators Pallet
Parrot Cay
Lumieres

It's the first initial of what restaurant you will be in on the first three nights... then it keeps rotating.

Now I get it!! Thanks so much!!! All I could think of was the tv station Animal Planet and I didn't think that was it!!!

I had the Cpox when I was a baby so when any of the kids in the neighborhood got it... I was allowed to play with them...

Also my SIL used to have her kids go and play with the kids who had it thinking that if her kids were exposed that they'd get it over with... Those kids had immune systems of STEEL!!! I think it took years before they actually got it... :confused3

I forgot to tell you Wilson and Molly had it 2 summers ago. Wilson got it 1 day before we left for London, Paris and Barcelona for 2 week vaca. The tickets were non refundable, Doctor said go. We did. Poor kids. Wilson was a trooper, he caught some other bug too and had the runs for 8 days, had to wear diapers on the Chunnel. Molly got it a week later in Paris, Pox in Paris. She enjoyed Dland Paris from a stroller, not bad for a 9 year old huh?

So if you were at Parrot Cay on formal night you would have more formal nights because you would be formal there and at Lumineres?

So if you were at Parrot Cay on formal night you would have more formal nights because you would be formal there and at Lumineres?

No - the days that are semi-formal and formal are the same for everyone, no matter what your rotation is. I'm not sure of the various rotations possible - someone might post it?? Lisa

But they're going to have such family stories to tell!!!:goodvibes

Whatever night Formal night is on...it happens in whatever restaurant you are in. Some like to be in Lumieres because it is a more formal atmosphere... I think just being there is the fun... I can get dressed up anywhere...

Think they'll do the lights in Animators Pallet more than once?

Hey everybody! LONG day today, after taking Tyler to school on the west side of town, then me going to work way in the east, I left work an hour and a half later to pick him up from school to head to his sensory evaluation with the occupational therapist on the south side of town, then back to take him to school, then me to work way on the other side of town for an hour, then back to pick him up from school, then karate and dropped him at his dad's where I spent about a 1/2 hour filling dad & stepmom in on all the details of his eval. BUSY! Then I got home and a friend stopped for a short visit and now I'm STARVING for dinner but wanted to read a few pages here first. :thumbsup2

GREAT news is that I think we're finally on the right track with some of Tyler's issues. The evaluation continues next Wednesday, but the OT already says she sees major sensory issues and gave me an idea of some of the accommodations she thinks she'll recommend for the school and also at home exercises, plus OT every week with her and twice a week at school. I won't bore everybody with the details, but she feels ALL of the problems stem from some sort of sensory processing disorder, she just now has to figure out which type and come up with her plan for treatment (but will still evaluate him further next week before doing her report & recommendations). His dad, stepmom and I are so excited now! We really seem to be on the right path finally!

Holly, that's the best news that I've heard in a long time. It would explain everything and how it makes Tyler feel frustrated. At least he will be on his road to recovery now. That's such great news! I'm so happy for your progress! What a relief getting some answers and knowing what you're dealing with and how to fix it. YEAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

Continuing prayers for you and your family. Speaking of prayers, my mom's surgeon asked if we would like him to pray with us before surgery. Well, SURE! He prayed for guidance in his work and healing for her. How cool was that!

That's wonderful! I can't imagine how good that would feel!

This is a great doctor you had for your mom. My father is a retired doctor. He graduated from a Jesuit run medical school. As the dean of the school (an elderly priest) awarded my father one of the few honor society keys given, he reminded my dad that good surgeons had high marks and skills, but great surgeons recognized that G_d guided their hands and allowed them to use their skills to their best ablility. There is a longer and better story about this, but it will have to wait until on board ship and with a mug in hand.:goodvibes

Prayers for Liz to recover. She is in stable condition, but had a ruptered bowel and was septic. Scary...

That happened to my mom years ago. She was in ICU for over 3 weeks--almost died. Very serious! Fortunately she did recover, but it took many months.

I think the other rotations are
PLA
LAP

I think they all go in the same order, just start with different days--Parrot Cay always follows Animator's, etc.

What are you planning to do in SD? Maybe we could meet up for one last dinner before your trip is over?

I love that idea. Yes, we'll definitely do that. We'll probably do Sea World and maybe the Zoo. We'll drive around the area and see what we see. We'll only be down there for one day so we can't do it all, just a few things. But we will definitely have dinner again with you and Darrell. Pick a place that you love and we'll go there.

OK I don't mean to sound stupid but what in the heck is APL? How do you know if you are on it?

I'm sure someone has already answered it, but A=Animator's Palate, P=Parrot Cay and L=Lumiere's. That means if I'm APL, on day one we'll be dining in Animators, on day two we'll be dining in Parrot's and day three we'll be dining in Lumieres...then the cycle starts all over again. Hope that made sense. I found out by calling DCL and asking. We requested the 8pm dining time and she said that was APL rotation.

Marilyn

Alison and her boyfriend David :thumbsup2 are staying at Radison Hotel in DL.

We are staying at Paradise Pier hotel.

That might be too many people for one private shuttle. Also it is $10 extra for each different stop. Will check later.

That is great news Holly.

Only 24 more pages to catch up on! But I have to go get some dinner or I'll start gnawing on my computer cord. :rotfl:

:lmao:

Thanks! He's happy too because he enjoyed the activities she did with him and she was very reassuring when she took the time to explain to him that she has ideas of ways to help him have an easier time at school. He didn't say anything, but he just looked so relieved. I could see it on his face and he gave her a hug when we left. :goodvibes

Brought tears to my eyes. Bless him.

I had not wanted to do formal attire at all, and at first contemplated just eating at the buffet that night. I think I've really thrown myself into this, once I decided I was going to do tails.

I will be doing Cary Grant in "Bringing Up Baby" when I am wearing the tails, and Cary Grant in "Philadelphia Story" when I wear the white dinner jacket.

Just ignore the New York/Chicago accent.

.

Sorry but we want a lovely posh English accent!!;)

Hello Friends,

It has been a long and trying couple of days. We were back on the ballot for our school levy, and despite getting more votes out than in the six previous losses, the no voters got out more. It is disappointing, and depressing, and I really wonder about my community. We lost by about 1,000 votes out of over 20,000 cast. Parents and teachers worked our rear ends off, and spent thousands of dollars in this effort all for nothing.

The really horrible thing is watching the attack of the no voters in our community, spreading misinformation and lies. You can read the story here, and then read the many nasty comments below:

http://www.cantonrep.com/index.php?ID=402177

I posted this comment in response tonight:

No nasty comments here. You reap what you sow. For all of you who think you have sent some kind of message to Columbus - think again. They could care less. When attacking teachers and the people who care for our children in our community becomes sport, it is indeed a sad day. I doubt that any of you have taken the time to meet these people, to know them, and to show them the care, respect, and love they give to children every day. It is not just your fault, but the fault of every person who puts so little value on education that it is the last thing funded, and not the first. You have not voted negatively on things that affect your well-being, and the services that aid you, and yet you would vote this way when those who have no voice in their future pay the price. My parents taught me differently. They taught me to respect and value teachers and not to insult them. They taught me children come first and it is the duty of each succeeding generation to sacrifice if they must for the future. We will lose good teachers. We will lose what it took generations to create, and the loss will come more quickly than the time it will ever take to regain that loss. I am sad, and I am ashamed - and the negative comments here show the real heart and priorities of many of you.

Hope you are all doing well - I'm having a hard time focusing on a fun vacation when Sophia and kids like her are losing more educational opportunities.

John, whilst I don't understand your system I can see your frustrations and upset over the future of your local children.

I think we all just care about each other so much, which is strange since most of us are strangers! It's truly an amazing group. :goodvibes

:grouphug:

I think everybody's in mourning because I was gone so long. :rotfl:
:rotfl2:

No, this is something new. The flu cleared up completely, then about 4 days after having all symptoms completely gone, he started with a runny nose and cough. Just a cold, but it freaked him out because the flu really scared him since he'd never been that sick before. I assured him it's just a cold and he'll be fine. It's not developing into anything major, just a cold fortunately. :thumbsup2 He's fine, just a cough at night.

Good, though a night cough is annoying for all the household!!

I have not read or caught up....just read this page.

John, so sorry about the vote.....I wish it could have been different.

I have been so busy with Frank. I brought him home today from the hospital. He has to drains that need to be cleaned and flushed 4 times a day. I just am not too sure how I will keep that up. Don and I are talking about hiring a nurse to help us.

He will be going back into the hospital for at least one more operation.

Not sure where this will all lead to.

If you can manage it do get a nurse or you are going to be ill yourself.

What rotation would put you in Lumineres the most for formal/semi-formal nights? Thanks, Lisa

PLA, which I know for the later dining time is 8:15 (not sure about the early time). It puts you in Animator's for the first formal night and Lumiere's for the semi formal and second formal night.

With APL our group will be in Lumiere's for the first formal night and Parrot Cay for rest of the semi/formal nights.

I think DCL is lucky the Mexico port fees do not affect our cruise! Poor Tom probably does not need any more email!

Not too sure he actually received our last ones!!!

Nan, not too sure what is going on, but I put off taking Annie to the Doctor for a hurt shoulder cause I thought she could work though it,,,,

Well, her growth plate was borken in her shoulder.....a lot worse than I could ever have imagined. I wished I had taken her sooner.
Lisa

That sounds nasty Lisa. How long ago was this? Is she ok now?

Speaking of knee surgery. I am at my Mom's for a couple of days. She had knee surgery today. Arthroscopy (sp?) for a torn meniscus. Bless her, she is 82 years old and this is the first surgery she has had in 50 years. 1958 was the last time she had surgery! Tought old bird is what I told the nurse. And so far she has not had any pain. I keep asking her since they told me to give her pain meds as soon as she felt pain so we could stay ahead of it for the next few days. So far, "nope, don't feel nothing yet." :confused3 Amazing lady, I hope I have inherited all her genes! She has been bending it an stretching just like they told her.

I miss DrHug already though! :sad1: I will be here until Friday morning if all goes well. DrHug has jobs today and tomorrow so he had to stay home. We live about 2 hours from her.

Well done your mom. I hope she continues to do so well.

I hope I am something like her when I am her age and not a crabby old misery

Continuing prayers for you and your family. Speaking of prayers, my mom's surgeon asked if we would like him to pray with us before surgery. Well, SURE! He prayed for guidance in his work and healing for her. How cool was that!

That's amazing.

Do you mean APL...or drugs :lmao: ? Just kidding. Yes, Kaylee and I are on APL at 8pm. I called DCL to specifically find out what our rotation was, so they do have that info available now.

So, did you just ask the first CM and they found that out for you?
