morning....crazy day at work - month end close and all.
we tend to tip heavy at Palo......

anything else exciting going on?
where is ontario california? close to LA?

About the room assignments, here's a thought. I wonder if most of the catagories are oversold? How far in advance does DCL begin to offer deals to oversold cruises to get people to switch?

I'm still in a lifeboat.....just two more months to go, I would want them to book so we know, then we can make door signs with a room number on them.

All I can do is wait another month and then hope that I get assigned. At least when I asked DCL they said we would get assigned anywhere from 30 days out right up to in the terminal. Great. How do I get on the lists then?

We're going to have to develop a plan to report to someone to give them room numbers for the lists if assigned at the terminal. They will have to be manually entered.....the lists and the mini nav.:confused3

I'm sure we will know in advance Deb.

I seem to remember Noel was going to be the one to see if we had different room numbers when we got to the port, but of course that won't be the case now.

Exactly my point Marilyn.....we need a new volunteer main contact person who will have the master list......LiserAnn do you want to be that person in place of Noel. Do you have an assigned room number yourself? If you do we could make you our contact person, if you don't mind.

Now I know why I haven't flown since 911.....this is really starting to sound like a nightmare. I'm not the criminal, don't punish me. Make your rules within reason and I'll follow them but it sounds exactly like what you have said.

Was anyone on here actually flying on 9/11 day? I was on an international flight from Australia to Vancouver that day, it happened when we were in the air. Once we landed in Vancouver, we had to wait 5 hours on the plane, as they were searching each plane before they allowed us to get off. Then our luggage was unaccessible, and I was stranded in Vancouver for 2 nights, as no flights were leaving. All hotels were taken so I was adopted by some girls in their mid 20s who came to the airport to offer their home for stranded travelers.

It was a nightmare, long lines, people crying all over the airport, phones tied up for ages. I was pregnant at the time (and traveling alone) and ended up fainting in line to check in the day they started flying again. Of course, all flights were booked solid out of there but you should have seen the people jump around once I passed out. They put me on the first available flight out (bumped someone else) and I got to wait in the VIP area with personal service and all.

It was a memorable experience for sure, one I would not like to repeat. And I look at these regulations in place now and while they are a pain, I still vividly remember being at the airport and on the plane that day, wondering if our flight would be the next one hit. . .

Just my 2 cents.

did anyone confirm if aunty brat was still cruising?

Hi V.....great pics, fun weekend!!!

Last reported, she was still going to be sailing, but didn't want to get involved with everyone's activities.....just wanted to be off on her own.

I don't remember who said it, but it was a little while back.

Good morning all, we are sending sunshine and wind your way across the country!

Can you send that across the northern border too! It is snowing like mad here - just when I was really thinking spring had sprung. Woke up to several inches of the stuff and it is still coming down quite heavily!!

Good morning and good night Steve!!!

We had a suitcase not travel with us once, fortunately it was on our way home from Tenerife, so it was mainly filled with dirty washing. But we had at that time put John's camera, the binoculars and some other more expensive items inside. It took 5 days and a few long 'on hold' phone calls to arrive home

Since then we never pack the camera etc, and we now mix our clothing instead of having the more pleasing his and hers suitcases, just in case one goes missing on our way TO our destination.

Very good advice. Always pack a bit of everything in everything suitcase so if even one gets to your destination with you everyone will have some clean clothes.

Jolene, that is certainly a nightmare experience that you will never forget. How extremely scary and frustrating. I'm in complete agreement about new rules put in place for safety reasons. But catch the bad guys don't harass the innocent. I was responding to someone who said......."it depends on how they feel and how much of a power trip it is for them." They are good rules for good reasons as long as they are not abused for personal reasons. We all know that corruption exists. And I would hate to be on the receiving end of it when it's just not necessary.

Ok, off my soapbox now!

Hey Deb,

I agree with you 100%. Hope I didn't come across as disagreeing with you.

I've also been on the receiving end of what I feel was a power trip for the TSAs. I think they can really "make or break" your flight experience.

So yes, you are so right about the rules and how they are enforced.

Pj and Ian, I can't get on Mousemanager.

Marilyn, the link in my signature is working, bottom line. You might need to stretch the screen out wide to see that line. The download is at the top of the home page.

Morning everyone! We'll I've tried catching up...it's hopeless! We are a chatty group. It's still hard for me to believe we have only just over two months before we all meet each other! Ok, back to reading....:surfweb:

Not quite sure what you are referring to... there is nothing to "get on." You download the tool, install it and run it on your machine.
